First stay with wife a few months ago was excellent. Recent stay alone, bar food was so awful I complained about it and I don't usually complain. Otherwise good including breakfast.

Rooms were comfortable. Cosy bar, friendly staff and good food. Unsure if there was a spa/gym in the hotel. Was given no information about this on arrival.

Good price, nice size room. Great foyer, excellent Christmas theme. Nice bar with great Guinness. Had a family lunch there one afternoon and the food was great with pleasant staff. The room was very cold on the afternoon we arrived and remained cold until the following morning, even though the radiator was quiet hot. The bathroom door didn't close properly and the bathroom didn't have a radiator which added to the chilly room. After complaining about the heating system we were given a mobile electric heater which did help, and the room heating system was switched on for longer.

We ate in the bar which was very nice and the waitress nina was very polite and very helpful. We were attending a concert in the inec which was close to the hotel so location was a plus.. Our room was very comfortable and clean.. The price for the one night was very reasonable which was also a bonus. I would stay here again if I were to travel to killarney,

The staff were extremely helpful. I have to comment especially on a wonderful polish girl working in the bar. I spilt red wine on my dress and she could not have been more attentive and helpful. Fantastic girl, definately shows up some of our irish bar personal in higher rated hotels. There was a great atmosphere in the bar area, Loved the smoking area with nice comfy seating. Foyer of hotel was very pleasant with gentleman playing the baby grand piano, nice and relaxing. My bed was very comfortable and I had a good nites sleep. This is definately a 3 star, no more, but very good for people on a budget. What I didnt like about the hotel was my bedroom was very cold when I arrived, I had to ask to have the heating turned on. The bathroom had very poor lighting and I was not impressed with a liquid soap dispenser, far better to have new individually wrapped soap. Unfortunately, the tea cups and spoons were dirty and sticky so I had to wash them before use. I ordered breakfast to be served in my room, this was probably the most disappointing. Terrible orange juice, over cooked egg, poor quality produce and the rashers tasted terrible. Toast and Tea were good.

I liked its quick service and prompt response to querys or request I did not like the almost business like attitude of staff. No friendlyiness not even on check out from receptionist on duty. Staff were only efficient but not friendly. I did not like that you could not get a cup of fresh coffee between after breakfast at ten till twelve when the bar opened, that you could not just order coffee and sit in the foyer. For kerry hospitality it was seriously lacking.

All the staff were wonderful - very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with a double & single bed, and what pleased us both was the tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. There is a lovely lobby at the hotel where one can sit down and read a newspaper or book. We had stayed in Killarney Oaks last year for 3 nights, after leaving a B&B House which we did not like, so looked forward very much to staying in the Oaks this year & we were not disappointed. We were only sorry we could not stay for longer, but our budget would not allow!! We thought the Bar Food Prices were very expensive, but unfortunately, this seems to be the norm in most parts of Killarney! We did go into Killarney Town to eat at night at a restaurant which we have been visiting for the last 5yrs.
