Comfortable and warm convenient to public transport and shopping areas. The bathroom/toilet could have done with redecoration or a lick of paint. Also ,we booked non-smoking but got smoking. |

Good value for money. You pay for what you get! The hotel is old but has lots of character. Given the age of the hotel it is crying out for a refurb, but the obvious downside to doing that would probably result in its loosing its charm and the rates would have to go up! |

The staff was very helpful. Gave us some great suggestions for day trips, sights, restaurants, etc. They gave us a map of the area and pointed out great observation points. I was a little concerned about the hotel on my arrival, because we arrived at night and I really couldn't see much of it from the outside, but once we got inside, I was pleasantly surprised. |

The wireless internet access did not work at all! 2 staff members were unbelievably rude and unhelpful (lady in reception on Saturday night, and lady on reception on Monday morning). They refused to believe that any thing was wrong with wireless internet despite several guests who confirmed to them it did not work. The attitude of those the 2 ladys at reception (above) was actually hostile and showed they did not like their work (other staff were OK, but you can tell that there was no customer centric culture at this hotel. |

Helpful staff - very good food in the hotel bar & quite reasonable for food in Ireland which is quite expensive. We stayed here because it was close to the ferry wharf however we failed to check our tickets & our ferry actually went from Dublin City ferry wharf however it was a very nice alternative to staying in expensive Dublin. It rained all the time - not the hotel's fault of course. |

Fantastic location, view from room was amazing! We were very impressed and happy with the hotel/ Front facing rooms have wonderful view of the harbour and coastline but the train runs infront of hotel, noisy up to about midnight but wasn't as bad as others made it out to be. |

Location was excellent and reception staff were nice I requested a non-smoking room but was given a smoking room. However, the girl on reception had no problem changing us to a non-smoking room. |

Location good; reception helpful; on-site restaurant convenient. Good-sized room, full bath and tea-making facilities appreciated. Hot water tap in bathtub did not work; small light in bathroom did not work; no control for heat in the room. So, I guess maintenance should be stricter. |

Fantastic Sea view..Brilliant Self Service Breakfast.Really good Bar Food, Friendly Staff. Very near dart therefore very good access to City Centre and surrounding areas E.g Howth, Dalkey, Killiney etc. Very good for walking and scenery.Very good for swimming at the 40foot and also a very good shopping town....What more could you want..(We were luvky with the weather also!!! Not Bad For Ireland!!! . Yes! Only one thing...In the evening we went into Dun Laoghaire Town (1 minutes walk) Visited a few pubs and afterwards the chip shop, Returned to Hotel at approx 2am to find that we were locked out. Spent 10 to 15 minutes ringing door bell trying to get in/ Eventually door was opened... We were Not Impressed with this serario....Scary |

The Kingston has few flaws . Good standard. It was a deliberate choice to stay south of Dublin in Dun Laoghaire. Only draw back - no "the night is young" if you rely on the Dart train to get back. Better registering of cash payments.Stayed at the beginning and end of our Ireland holiday. Before Cork we had to hear that the payment hadn't gone through. We had paid cash!During the final days there was a problem with us- ing the shower.Perhaps no mechanical problem just cultural chock.Solution? We had the best room in the place seaside the last two days. Great !!! |

we had a very plesent stay and the breakfast was lovely. The bar staff were very slow to take our order for lunch, we eventually had to go up to the bar and find someone to take our order. There is a big crack on the road outside the hotel, i actually fell and hurt myself. |
