The staff are very friendly and the views are lovely over the pier. The hotel has smoking rooms which is unusual nowadays but it did not interfere with nonsmoking rooms. I didn't eat in the restaurant as I was meeting friends in town but the menu (Italian) looks great and good value. The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from the bus or train. Renovations are still ongoing and quite slow. The bathroom was lovely but the bedroom ceiling still had those nasty paper tiles. TVs need to be updated also and the windows are old. Having said all this, it takes time and money to put an old Victorian building like this back to it's former splendour and I wish them well.

The position is excellent: it overlooks the sea and the harbour; there is a stop for the airport bus that is very close by; the bus into Dublin is also very near; and the DART train station is not too far away. The Italian restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel has very good food, and stays open longer than other places in the area, which is especially useful on a Sunday evening. The Wi-Fi did not usually work in the room, and was sometimes unreliable downstairs.

I liked the location very much and my room had a wonderful view. It was good value The reception staff offered no information regarding where restaurant, bar etc was and at what times meals were served. There was no information sheet in bedroom or menu. I travel a lot on my own and often prefer to dine in my room. The safety notice on the door was in very small print and only readable by people of 6 feet or over!!

The room was comfortable but there was an upleasent smell in the bathroom The hotel reception was very big & empty with only 2, 2seater sofa's which didn;t appear to be customer friendly. There did not appear to be any disabled facilities, there were steps up to reception, & down to the car park. I was not told were to park & when I went to get my car after checking out there was a note on the windscreen to say I had parked in a space belonging to a resident in the apartment block adjoining the hotel. All in all it suited the purpose for what I was there for.
