Having previously stayed at the Kingston on our last visit to Ireland, we decided to stay again due to welcoming, friendly staff and the clean comfortable room. We were delighted that everything was how we remembered with beautiful views and with the added bonus of a new italian resturant within the hotel, which was thoroughly enjoyable and after a few glasses of wine we didnt have far to rest our heads

I loved the view from my window of the sea, the staff was very helpful and I enjoyed the breakfast and the bar facilities which included the food. The location beside the dart was great and the town of Dun Laoighaire was interesting too.

The price was excellent. The staff were great - really helpful and pleasant to deal with. The location overlooking the sea is fantastic. The hotel is undergoing renovations and if the standard in the public areas is replicated in the rooms then it will be great. The bedrooms are in need of a face-lift and were too hot. The restaurant prices were a bit high for a budget hotel

We hated it .when we booked it said resturant and bar was not told they were both closed for refurb.we were there after my husband has had a year of illness and we had to go out for all meals.the hotel was not clean ,it was grubby, stained towels and when I took it to reception I didnot even get a sorry.t he wall sockets where all loose from the walls, bath panel was broken and cracked.the second day the maid left a bath towel which was so thin and old it was fraid all round the edges with 8 holes in it.we could not stay and have a rest in the afternoon the room was quite depressing.and had a terrible damp smell.never ever again. As above.we hated it.it reminded me of the hotel in Fatel attraction.

I was centre to town Staff not very helpfull, our lights would not work in room so had to make do with two poor lit lamps ,not good if you enjoy to read befor sleep, bed very unconfortable did not sleep for most off the night , some one should show the chambermaid how to dress bed blanket not on right way across bed instead of longway top cover a dead weight I sugest owner of hotel sleep for one night , if he care about people and see for him self how he feels , good points near town, clean, big rooms pity about staff maybe not all , ours was night lady, no smiles pity smiles are free , and goes a long way to make up for any proplems

The friendly helpful staff. The excellect soup at lunch time. Good quality and reasonably priced food and drink. The location. Not enought light in bedroom to read. Although in process of being refurbished so this problem may be solved.

We had a large double room on the fourth floor with an incredible view from the bay windows. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pier was across the road as was the promenade and we went for fantastic walks. very close by, facing the sea, was a string of restaurants and coffee shops where we could sit outside and enjoy the view and excellent meals. A really wonderful couple of days The trains were a nuisance and quite loud but we got used to them. Still had a good nights rest.

Stayed at this hotel as we were catching the fast ferry. Nice ambience, friendly staff, room was nice and the shower was excellent. Had dinner in the bar overlooking the harbour with splendid views. A very nice meal, friendly service, good value and overall this is a comfortable hotel in an excellent location. If I wanted to nit-pick, the car park, which is located in front of the hotel, but you have to access it via a different road is a bit tight to get in and out of. Also has a 'no vans' sign, which was a bit of a problem as we had our van with us as we were travelling on business. No one seemed to mind us parking it there and reception said it wasn't a problem when we checked in. Apart from that 'nit-pick', I couldn' fault the Kingston and would return again.

Excellant location for any business in Dun Laoghaire .Convenient to Dart and City bus Services. Breakfast very good and in all very good value for money . My room whilst very clean had a bad musty smell in the bathroom. I feel if the entire hotel [and in particular room 301] was re carpeted it would make a huge difference to overall impression of hotel .With its magnificant and convenient location a general overhaul could make a huge difference to your clients .

Good location. The room was grubby, with poor decor and facilities; the bathroom particularly poor insofar as the soap dispenser was broken when it should have been attached to the wall in the shower. The main room seemed to be half-way through a re-fit, as there was a hole in the counter where a hob had once been and an extractor fan above. The floor looked as if it had not been cleaned properly. The cooked breakfast was cold because the bain marie was not warm enough to keep the food at sufficient temperature.

I liked the location very much and my room had a wonderful view. It was good value The reception staff offered no information regarding where restaurant, bar etc was and at what times meals were served. There was no information sheet in bedroom or menu. I travel a lot on my own and often prefer to dine in my room. The safety notice on the door was in very small print and only readable by people of 6 feet or over!!

The room was comfortable but there was an upleasent smell in the bathroom The hotel reception was very big & empty with only 2, 2seater sofa's which didn;t appear to be customer friendly. There did not appear to be any disabled facilities, there were steps up to reception, & down to the car park. I was not told were to park & when I went to get my car after checking out there was a note on the windscreen to say I had parked in a space belonging to a resident in the apartment block adjoining the hotel. All in all it suited the purpose for what I was there for.
