the central location, the friendly staff (thanks tom at front desk for all his assistance), price included a basic breakfast, a safe feeling during our stay
not enough parking spaces
No nonsense, clean, comfortable, Central hostel
The beds were extremely comfy, staff were great, great location (5 mins walk from the city centre), the wifi was fast and the kitchen had good facilities.
It was quite cold, you couldn't get wifi in the rooms and it would be great if breakfast ended a bit later than 9.30
bad internet connection
the advert was not clear it give the impression that it is single room with breakfast included. at a discount rate, I was charged the same rate as everyone else. and breakfast was tea and toast only
The tall late night reception guy was unfriendly and slow to move when asked to help open our door when we had problems. WiFi didn't work on top floor either.
I slept on the top bunk, and it was very comfortable.
My friend on the bottom bunk...oh man you could smell the mattress through the thin sheet and it was gag worthy. There's also the dirty mop smell throughout.
Close to city, easy access.
No facility given for cooking yourself.
+location +staff +internet available
-cold -noisy -tv didn't work -general image of a dumpy place
- location - personnel - basic breakfast included - price - towels included - comfortable bad - warm
Location, private room, secure. Offered breakfast for free. Offered a towel
Beds were very un-sturdy and very uncomfortable. They were sagging in the middle and any movement would wake up either top or bottom bunk. Wifi only in common rooms. No hot water in shower. Bathrooms not very clean. Our room had an awful smell to it.
good tv room , quite stove for cooking
the internet signal is poor, and lack a video câmera in the kitchen,
Good location to explore cork on foot, easy to meet people in the hostel, comfortable stay overall.
Room and bedding were dusty and smelly, need better cleaning. Wifi worked in the room but was slow and flaky.
The staff at Kinlay House were really friendly and helpful. We had just moved to Cork but wanted to quickly find jobs and an apartment - suggestions from the staff made this much easier! The kitchen facilities are great, the beds comfortable and we made really good friends with all the other guests we met.
It was private, realtively quiet, clean and secure. Staff was extremely helpful. Shower was larger than most Hostels making it easier to access. Location is pretty good, within 5 minutes California walk to the city center.
The bottom of the bedroom window was AT the floor. Literally flush with it and did not open. The stairs to the room are very steep and narrow. The location is close to town center but up a slight hill.
Bathwater is not very hot
I liked leaving.
I don't know..... Was free when we need it.
Bad, old furniture, bad showers, old kitchen low in dishes... It blows through windows.
i loved the friendly, smiling staff! Loved meeting the others staying there from all over the world
the mattress was saggy and created a poor nights sleep
The staff were all nice and friendly, and very help full in looking after my personal belongings in a safe place, and i loved the Wi Fi as i spend most of my life on it. And I Was Made To Feel Welcome
staff were great.
There were no cups in the kitchen and the breakfast was badly thought out. Why not butter? why not milk in a carton instead of tiny sachets of milk substitute?
Everyone at reception were nice. Our room was okay and the bathroom was clean.
Charles Dickens breakfast of bread and tea. It was kind of a laugh.
it was great value for money, location was good, with the staff being helpful. Good night's sleep had by both. Vending machine also, which was well used by both of us.
staff, location, cleanliness
loud room mates
It had a nice large and comfy TV room.
I found the toilets very dirty. Even some of the toilets didn't have locks. There was only 1 computer to access the internet. I would say having travelled both within Ireland and internationally that this is one of the poorest hostels that I have ever stayed in.
