Location was amazing, a stones throw from temple bar at atepehens green and walking distance to every attraction including even the further out spots like Phoenix park. Breakfast as simple but good, the staff friendly and the place clean. Overall excellent for the money!
The lockers were a while away although not too much of an issue, as were the bathrooms. There as no facility to sit in an evening outside of your room or in the common room which would have been nice, just a sofa space to relax after a long day/night and continue socialising.
Helpful staff and good location
Not very clean, doors sticky, trays greasy.
awesome location, tidiness, chance to borrow nice books if one's wish so. What's more I eat a lot so I was pleased that there was plenty food.
good shower, small dorms so not to many people per room
10 am check up is a bit early
I like the building itself the nice stone on the outside and the old creeky floors and stairs in the inside gives the place some caracture.
Only one room to relax in, its the room where everyone eats, talks, sings, plays loud music, reads or tries to watch a movie. Its silly to have only one room for everybody to do there thing. Its very important for people to be comfortable and be able to relax read or drink and be loud. You can not do this in the same space it does not work. Its not fair!!!
No toiletries included (towels, ...)
Toilet and Bathrooms are very clean Very clean generally. To me, the best around for the price paid.
the wooden floors to upstairs quirks and make noises. some rooms are stuffy and the air not good.
The hostel seemed to have many amenities for travelers like Irish sim cards, power adapters and tour bus tickets. The location is really great, and the staff at the desk was always helpful! It's a clean place and I felt safe there.
The pillows are very thin and either are like sleeping on nothing or if you fold them in half they are hard as rocks. The wifi was also a bit spotty.
The location. The beds were quite nice.
The wifi was really hard to connect to and I didn't really like the staff but to be fair I only met two people so I can't really speak for the rest.
Very good location, close to the main tourist objectives and the bus station is right in front of it. Very clean. WiFi in the rooms. Helpful staff. Good breakfast included in the price of the room.
A lot of noise from the street even with the windows closed. You can't sleep very well.
Comfortable beds, good location, lockers
Bathrooms were dirty and didn't have soap
I liked that the staff were very friendly and accomodating. It was excellent value for money. The hostel had an amzing vibe and everyone truely was nice to me. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend Kinlay house.
The only issue I have was the bunk beds. The rooms had quite tall ceilings, so why the hostel bought the unsturdiest beds which if you slrpt on tge bottom bunk constantly banged your head as the headroom was v. Low. The pillows weren't that comfy -on the hard side, as were the mattresses. But although you couldn't just throw yourself onto a bed after a long day (unless you wanted a nosebleed from the impact) it really was a decent nights sleep.
The "breakfast" that was included was just toast, butter and some cereal. Very thin walls, small rooms and u heard everthing from the hallway and from the street.
The bathrooms were great clean and really big! So much space in the showers! Beds were super comfy too!
A male member of staff gave off the impression that my friend and I were an annoyance to check in and that he couldn't get us away any quicker. Unfriendly and not welcoming at all.
Was all pretty good, nice staff, large kitchen, lots of couches/seats in common room which made it easy to meet people.
WiFi wasn't great, buttons for showers needed to be pushed every 15 seconds and my bed wasn't clean but the rooms were nice.
We booked for 4 people and we needed up with another person when I asked the reception to book another bed he told me there was none left, then when I told him we had no other place to stay he said not his problem and I told him we were going to be left on the streets , he was roaring at me even when I walked away. Three of us ended up staying there and the other two had to stay on the streets , then found out the next morning that he did have spare beds as he gave my friend a bed , when I told the other receptionist the next morning what was the mans name he also started giving me abuse! I recommend no one to ever stay there ! Their ignorant and arogant!
The bed is quite nice, clean and comfortable. The staff explains every questions you ask. Quiet on the 2nd floor. Enough choice of breakfast.
The location may seem to be close to Temple bar, you might experience a long travel if you arrive from Bus Station/Train Station. The bathroom is okay but the toilet itself is not that satisfied. Toilet seat is not fixed to the toilet itself, so you may experience 'moving' on the seat. There is no elevator, so for those with heavy luggage, it may be painful
Excellent location and good value for money
That someone else in my dorm got it for 4 euro less per night than i paid! Dorm a tad noisy at times but then again it's a dorm isn't it.
The room itself is ok. Location is good.
I stay for 2 consecutive nights. But need to change the room for 2ed night. And need to pay for luggage storage, its ridiculous since i stay there just need to change room but to pay for extra. And the reception didnt try to fine a room i can stay for 2 nights.
Though it is obviously not a five-star, I still expect to get more than cereal and bread for "free breakfast included". Not pleased.
This hostel is reasonably priced and the location is excellent - steps away from Christchurch Cathedral & within walking distance of many of the sights, including Trinity College.
We stayed in 6 sleeper dorms and they are very small. It can feel squashed. It would be nice to have lockers under the beds for keeping valuables.
Fairly good location in central city. A room to ourselves.
Rooms VERY small. En suite bathrooms VERY small. Just about flooded the place while showering. Plumbing leaked around shower. Breakfast very basic. Cornflakes and toast!
There weren't enough sockets in my room. Had to borrow from another backpacker, which was really embarrassing and inconvenient. The bads felt like a hard rock, so I got a really bad backhurt the day after.
Everything.. Location ... Staff ... Cleanliness ..will be back
