As we had to be up crazy early for Gaelforce, there was loads and loads of food left out for us to grab on our way out which was really great!
The property has real character and it was a delight to stay there. The staff, too, were all very helpful and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I liked the location just outside Westport and just off the main Castlebar road. It was easy to get anywhere and the town was within easy walking distance too. Westport is a lovely little town but the parking can be crowded and it can be a bit congested at times, so it was nice to have the option to avoid that.
RIght at the end of their season, a few minor things needed attention. My kettle did not stay switched on and the centre light kept going on and off for no apparent reason. Also the shower did not appear to work but I was happy to use the bath. None of these things caused me a problem personally, so I did not bother to mention them and I am sure they would have been attended to if I had. The signage to find the hotel the first time could be improved. There is a clear sign to the right at the T junction on leaving the main road but the sign to then bear right again is easy to miss while driving by.
The Friendly Staff particularly the manager. The breakfast was also good value for money. The location was also very good.
The broken glass in front door and also broken outside lamp. It gave the impression that the Guesthouse was run down.
Proximity to hotel for wedding.
Dated, tired decor Lack of breakfast choice Shower lacked hot water
Location of Lodge was fine . Amply Car Parking . Size of room and facilities good .
Cleanliness was a bit poor room carpet looked as if it needed shampooed, and rest of room needed a good dusting . Curtain hanging of rail . Picture on wall with broken and missing glass would have been better removed .
No hot water in shower Cobwebs in bathroom Breakfast finished at 10 and not 10:30 as indicated on the signs
Inside was comfortable and clean, breakfast was nice and reception staff very welcoming and friendly.
No facility to get a drink of water even at night. Vending machine might be a good idea
-Location -Breakfast -Staff
-Bathroom needed updating
Close to town and views of Croagh Patrick. Tasty breakfast. Spacious room.
No soap in the bathroom but that was quickly addressed by the staff. Broken toilet seat and towel bar - things need a little looking after at the Lodge.
loved the location great value for money would stay there again
Rooms were large bright and airy and we had a great night's sleep each night. Showers were very good. Staff made every effort to make our stay enjoyable.
It would have been nice to be able to get some more brown bread at breakfast.
Not good value for money, no personal touch
Location was good Comfortable room
Cobwebs on windows of breakfast room. Staff were not very friendly Breakfast was sufficient but not outstanding
Good location, very comfortable and clean.great breakfast and well presented
Water tank would waken us about 7.30 every morning just above our room ,but we are light sleepers.
The location is lovely with wonderful mountain views, and as a cyclist, I was offered a safe spot for my bike by the lovely manager - thanks!
Vegetarian breakfast was really poor, even though I had flagged it in advance - scrambled eggs, beans and a raw tomato. There's an awful lot of alternatives out there but Irish Guesthouses can't seem to get their heads around anything other than the big fry-up. This done well would earn great recommendations for future guests in my opinion.
location ajacent to Town Center and secluded
The staff were friendly and helpful.
TV not watchable, the picture kept breaking up.
The food was not good at all.
I thought the b+ b was very clean with a big room and a good size bathroom. I stayed in the 4 star Gresham hotel on o'Connell street in Dublin the week before and I have to stay this b + b was much better, with much friendly staff. I would definiately stay here again if I was going to Westport.
breakfast ok although we had to knock on kitchen door at 5 past 10 to say we were waiting since before 10am. nice views .. although tennis courts not for us wifi good down stains not so good in top bedroom
shower did not work in the night curtains in shower dirty curtains hanging off rails in bedroom walls need a pain and place needs to be refurbished glass door broken in main door and covered with paper board outside of house needs to be painted

room was very spacious and clean.staff were friendly and obliging.
very limited amount of tv stations.parking a bit tight if you were late back
Room, Staff, Location, Pricing, Facilities.
Breakfast was lacking quality, nicer sausages etc...
Location Breakfast & staff waiting on tables very good & courteous.
Unmanned reception desk. Fire alarm set off by guests in middle of night & not having any update from staff. Not good enough.
Staff were pleasant.Bed linen was fresh & clean.
The place lacked atmosphere. It was very tired & worn. Bed bases were stained & dirty looking & mattress was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was very basic & the place had a stale odour. Ok for a bed to sleep in if you're not too fussy.
