The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, as were all the staff I encountered during my stay. The room was comfortable with a very nice view. |

A friendly warm welcome, rooms luxurious but difficult to find! Situated in a beautiful town, many attractions within a short distance. Dinner expensive. otherwise no complaints. |

The hotel staff were all very polite and courteous and went out of their way to assist any requests or queries that were put to them. In particular the bar staff and the staff in the Spa were first rate. The ambience, surroundings, food and facilities are excellent and it is an ideal venue for a very relaxing hotel break. The dinner menu was extremly haute cuisine and I feel that this could be worked on to cater for all tastes. In regad to the reception staff, this was one area which fell below standards for example, receptionists staring into their computer instead of greeting guests good morning happened to me on two occassions. |

The peace and tranquillity and the open fires. Please do not change as many hotels do to gas imitation fires. |

I stayed at this hotel some years ago and was very pleased. I thought I would treat my wife! We were disappointed with the menu in the dining room. The selection of food was poor. Also I ordered Cod as my main course and was given Sea Bream (smelled very like Mackeral - my hobby is sea fishing) in any event the waiter apologised and told us the "kitchen" made the mistake! My Cod was delivered by which time my wife had nearly finished her meal. |

All above excellent, price was a little steep I felt. A second person stayed and I was thus charged an extra 60euro. Overall 190 euro I feel was expensive. |

I liked the roaring fire in the lobby when coming in from the inclement west of Ireland weather. This was my second stay at Knockranny. On both occasions (2 months apart) the steam bath and both of the Grotto baths were not operating. No information or apology was made by the hotel for this. For a hotel to advertise itself as a 'spa' it should be more forthcoming about facilities that are not available, when clients book or at latest during check-in. |
