The 3 year old. ideally situated Hostel - in a fairly forested, magical valley just beyond the border of co. Dublin - is equipped with anything (even clean, prepared for use towels in the bathroom!) that could satisfy a regular (family-orientated) tourist.
In my room just one of the window grips was not perfectly working.
Fantastic view and facilities.
Need to improve signage.
Very nice owner who made us feel very welcome
kitchen is a bit cramped
friendly service and excellent facilities
the mattress in the bed could have been bigger, also a sign post as you come off the wickow way directing you left to the hostel instead of a homestead B&B would have been very useful
There is so nice and comfortable place for hill-walkers especially going on Wicklow way. Also I've met Jason, who contribute for Knockree Youth Hostel at front desk, and I thought he was really good at managing whole of work for visitors. If you have some problem that you don't want instantly, he arranged of it or find a best way to solve it. Besides, it is very reasonable price and makes you feel comfortable enough to rest in freely. Lastly, I wish to mention for you guys, if you want to make your meal, you can prepare food for yourself in clean kitchen with all the cooking utensils.
I think, there is none of problem.
Very helpful staff. We got à much bigger room than we had booked. Beautiful location.
Bathroom smelled a bit moldy.
The location is excellent.
unfriendly atmosphere created by manager, hostile and aloof. Statements around hostel about children being unwelcome. Beds hard, no hot water for showers.
Modern facility. Generally well kept. Availability of cooked breakfast and pack lunch for hiking. Helpful and friendly staff. Cost was reasonable.
I'm a litter nazi and there was some (not much) litter at the picnic tables in front on the hostel. Should be simple to avoid this especially in such a scenic location.
the view from the dinning room the kitchen the loft room the staff it's a wonderful place. on a good day, it's magic. on a rainy day, it's still great. what a beautiful getaway.
you have to hike in with all your gear from the last bus stop. It's a nice hike, but if you have lots of luggage it will be tough.
Hostel was great, staff were welcoming and lots of local info available. Location is ideal for walking in the northern area of Wicklow.
