Breathtaking views. Excellent 'Irish welcome'.
There was nothing that I didn't like
had lovely room overlooking the lake, had added bonus of seeing 3 deer on the lawn on Saturday night and 3 swans in the lake! a lovely sight! staff were very pleasant and efficient. food in restuarant excellent
I loved everything about The Lake Hotel - the property, the staff, the food and service, the views, absolutely everything was lovely. Walking into the Lake Hotel felt like a dream, like traveling back to a Downton Abbey-esk time period. While the hotel has so much old world charm, the food and service were up to modern standards. The staff was lovely and had many recommendations of sights to see and places to go. I cannot imagine going back to Killarney and not staying at the Lake Hotel. It's truly something special
We loved the room that overlooked the Lake and the balcony was a wonderful added extra. The meals were magnificent and the service was well above average. The welcome was helpful, friendly and very efficient - a no-fuss check-in after a long journey.
Magnificent setting. Wonderful views from spacious and very comfortable. Wonderful hospitality from owners. Going back.
Fixed Bistro bar menu( but good quality)
Was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in views were amazing and the jacuzzi in the room was the highlight of the weekend excellent
Location, staff and all the facilities were wonderful
Having to go home
Site, view on lake and mountains
We didn't feel welcome. Staff not helpfull in hotel and bar/restaurant. We had our dinners in Killarney.
Great location. Deluxe room had fantastic view and extra amenities (fireplace, 'frig, coffee maker, 4-poster bed).
Triple room that our son and family used was not as nice. More expensive, but fewer features and no view. Restaurant/bar help consistently slow to seat us and take orders.
Although only minutes from the centre of Killarney, the Lake Hotel is a haven of peace and relaxation. It has been designed to make the most of the stunning views of Muckross Lake and the mountains beyond. Three deer were munching the surface plants in knee deep water 20 metres from our room window. This place is so peaceful, yet all needs are catered for admirably. We have stayed in many places in Killarney, but the Lake Hotel was by far the best. Food was very good and the staff were charming and agreeable. We'll be back again.
Everything...this hotel has got it 100% right. Comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff and views to die for! Food was fantastic. Bar lunch, breakfast and restaurant dinner... We will definitely be going back again soon. Would highly recommend...
I wasn't mad keen on the dining room, the bar is much cosier to eat in. However the restaurant food was perfect but I felt no ambience in the restaurant itself. The staff were very attentive and the menu was very nice.
The staff are wonderful, restaurant and bar food excellent.
We booked a family room. On checking in I was overcome by a smell of stale cigarette smoke. The cleaners had left the room with no ventilation open to clear the stench. On complaining we were informed the hotel was full, no alternative available. Did not make a fuss but felt unhappy that the room was not pleasant. Quite uncomfortable especially with kids.
Room wasn't as deluxe as described; bed too hard!
Location History Beauty
Had an amazing holiday in this beautiful place. Perfect location
The views and quietness
Bedclothes very heavy with woollen blanket. Not enough toast at breakfast.
Room very outdated and grubby for the price. Mismatched and stained furniture in the room: not ok at this price!
The view & location
Price. Very expensive.
Staff Food Room Location
Our room overlooked the lake - magical moments in the early mornings watching the deer feeding.
Nothing not to like.
I sat with my Aunt on our balcony overlooking the lake watching the ever changing light on a glorious view. Then had a delicious dinner in the restaurant by the window. Magical. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Location, food, bar, views, rooms are gorgeous.
A bit on the pricey side.
Location is the selling point. Views from room. Peace and quiet and interior decor of hotel fabulous. Lovely showers plentyof water!
For such a quality hotel and bedroom and price. Thought the one double bed and one single which was tiny wasn't great for two adult women in their 50's! Only one can enjoy decent size bed while the other makes do with tiny one! Especially since my friend was told it was a room upgrade!
Beautiful setting and excellent staff
