The hotel is in an excellent location. Just in from of the lake. We had a woodland view room and still we could see the lake. The staff at the hotel is excellent. The food absolutely delicious. We have come back to this hotel every time we go to Killarney as we know we will find good quality, friendliness and relaxation |

We needed to relax and get away for a few days. The location was excellent for us because we could enjoy the beauty of the lake from our window or go and take in the scenic drive, walk to the national park or go in to town. The breakfasts were lovely as was the one dinner we had in the restaurant. We were traveling with our guide dog in training and the hotel staff was very accommodating. |

staff welcoming, ambiance excellent, view lovely breakfast, just ok...I invited some friends to join us for breakfast and though it was no better than any breakfast we could have had in the E6-9 range...certainly not a E 16 breakfast. Staff were very nice, very accomodating, just felt quality of food just ok..I had stayed with friends about 3 or 4 years ago and we had oatmeal ..it was delicious...we asked for the recipe ...it was so good...we were anxious to have it again this time and the oatmeal tasted like plain ordinary oatmeal...I make much better myself at home |

The surrounding is quiet and pleasant, big room and also big bathroom walk-in wardrobe. Breakfast is good. We ordered room with lake view. Though it facing the lake, the balcony actually face the a wall of 1.6m high and thus there is no view from the room. In order to see the lake, we need to stand at the balcony and raise our toes to have a glimse of the lake or we can climb onto the top of the wall. The sight of the wall from the room makes one feel lousy to draw open the curtain of the balcony. |

Everything from start to finish. The first sight of our room and the breathtaking view across the lake was everything we could have wished for from the stay at The Lake Hotel. The weather obliged to provide mesmerising views that changed by the moment. The excellent breakfast offered an array of wonderful food for all tastes, with some parts being voted the best he had tasted by my other half. It had felt a little indulgent given that it was dearer that other hotels we had chosen on our tour - but it was worth every cent and I would love to think we will return, |

The grounds were beautiful and the views of the lake were lovely. My room had a "woodland view", which actually translated to " a view of the parking lot out front". |

Quietness, nearness to entertainment at Gleneagle, country walks, ambience of hotel Found the two male restaurant managers standoffish and unwelcoming, especially the older heavier man |

Just 2 miles from the city center, and on the Ring of Kerry, this hotel feels secluded. It seems to be the only development on a large, beautiful lake with mountains in the background. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is extremely attentive. |

Myself and my wife really enjoyed our stay at the lakes hotel. The location is beautiful and found it easy to relax and enjoy the scenary from the comfort of our balcony overlooking the lake.We found the hotel facilities and staff excellent and in particular to see wild deer roam the grounds at dusk quite amazing experience .I chose the hotel solely because of location but i shall be returning because of the friendliness and ease of access to all local ammenities and still be able to enjoy peace and quite! |

We enjoyed the breakfast each day, the beauty of the the lake and surroundings, the 'hunting lodge' affect of the the trophy heads, the music on Saturday night in the lounge***, and the nearby Muckross Abbey, Castle tour, and grounds---even in the pouring down rain on Saturday. Might be a nice touch to provide umbrellas and/or ponchos on loan***. It also might be a good idea to explain the jaunting cars and costs. We accidentally parked at the first entrance that was near the Abbey, didn't rent the horse and buggy and walked great distances all day in the rain. Perhaps a pro and con list or a frequently asked questions page for your visitors at the hotel would be very helpful. The people we spoke with wanted a minimum of 40 Euros. I would like more 'insider' info on going into Killarney to shop and eat. Directions were extremely confusing, but we found everyone in Ireland to be hospitable. One family that saw us trying to get out of a 'dead end', narrow street in Killarney asked us to wait a moment, went in their apartment, got their car, helped direct us in turning around in the small area and had us follow them to the restaurant we were trying to find. It was a husaband & wife and about a 2 year old child that went out of the way for us and would accept nothing in return. That made up for any frustrations. ( It was our first experience also in driving a vehicle on the right side of the road with the steering column also situated to the right.) |
