Langton House Hotel  

The staff were unbelievably helpful, I left my phone behind in one of the bars and they absolutely tried their very best to locate it for me, even offered to let me walk around the bar in the morning to see if I could find it. I left my home telephone number behind on the off-chance that someone handed it in, got into the car and drove home to Dublin. When I got home there was a message on my answering machine to say that it had turned up. I cannot recommend the staff more, especially Claire and Rochelle on the reception. Thank you for such a lovely stay. I will recommend the hotel to all my friends and family (not that it needs it!)

the staff. cleaner was so friendly, the bar staff, everyone. Asked for a bucket of ice and staff brought up champagne glasses with strawberries! So nice, the little touches.

Bit noisy in the Garden Suites

We stayed @ this hotel for one night stop over and were quite impressed...Staff where friendly and helpful, especially the staff at the breakfast..Room was Cosy and exactly as advertised/displayed in pictures on website..all in all it was a very nice break and we would definitely revisit again and stay for full weekend...

Parking was a bit difficult as the hotel was hosting an event on the nite we stayed..luckily for us the security guard on the gate kindly moved his car out of his parking space for us so we could park and not have to find alternative parking.

Room in main house could use an upgrade. Without air conditioning on in the room, it seemed musty. Very noisy to lock/unlock the room.

I was pleased with every aspect of my stay there.

Relaxed luxury

Gorgeous unique rooms - modern and comfortable but classic. Very comfortable beds with free in-room wifi and tv etc. Our room was on the roadside and above the bar but still nice and quiet. Then theres the restaurants and bars - I think about 4 or 5 different venues each with  an individual theme. Very cool. We ate at the restaurant after looking around the other options in Kilkenny deciding it looked the best. And it was - absolutely amazing food at good prices, you have to try the brown bread ice cream dish. Unforgettable. And then theres the included breakfast. Delicious continental buffet with pastries and all the rest, and we also had the option of a cooked brekkie - could choose from the usual full Irish or French toast/ pancakes etc - again just great food. So the verdict - definitely among some of the nicest accommodation in Ireland, and at 99 euro (for a Tuesday night) just outstanding value.

The staff were very nice and the location quite good. Very nice beer garden.

There were a series of small things that I was disappointed about, ie having to haul our luggage up two flights of stairs, being locked out on the street for about 10 minutes at 11.50pm on the first night, our room not being cleaned until I had to chase up the cleaner at 3pm one of the days, not enough cold buffet selection at breakfast. Apart from this though it was a nice hotel, just not 4 star in my opinion.

The hotel is lovely, we had a garden room and it was gorgeous, quiet and had a great shower. The bed was massive too. Decor in the rooms was great and the food was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice.

We heard some of the rooms in the main hotel were a bit shabby and noisy above the street. These were family rooms. One bad point was there was a lot of commotion outside our window in the mornings, sounded like heavy trolleys being dragged along the cobbles.

When we arrived I had the print out from booking.com with me but the hotel did not have a record of our booking. They upgraded us to a suite to make up for the inconvenience after we arrived without us asking for it. We found the staff to be very friendly. Location is ideal. The band that played there on the Thursday night were outstanding.

Easy access from Dublin...90 mins approx. We used a gift voucher which was excellent value for money....very close to Kilkenny castle which we visited...We were in Room No 1 overlooking the street which we thought might be a problem, noise -wise, but that wasn't the case...(it was a Monday night though. We had a little challenge finding the hotel as it wasn't listed in our Garmin Sat-nav

Kamer 26 bleek een garden suite te zijn, ruime kamer met leren zitbank in een erker. Ruime badkamer. In de bijgebouwen is geen lift. Wel bleek er een goede, gratis wifi verbinding te zijn. De beziendswaardigheden (castle, winkelstraat) zijn allemaal op korte loopafstand.

La qualité du service, la disponibilité et l'amabilité du personnel. Un bon rapport qualité/prix. Attenant à l'hotel un pub ou l'on mange très bien avec encore un très bon service.

Très bien placé en ville, parking et accueil

Un peu bruyant, on entend bien les voisins. Déco vieillote.

Unfortunately there were some very inconsiderate and noisy people in our block which after 45 mins I had to complain as it was 4:00am !!! But once I rang reception it was sorted quickly.
