Excellent location, cosy well appointed room, excellent breakfast. Included evening meal when you stay 2 nights. Secure car park on grounds. Strong free Wi-Fi. No lifts so had to lug suitcases up stairs. We stayed during the annual livestock fair/sales which are held in the street outside the Hotel. This meant the staff seemed to be run off their feet most of the time. The reception desk was rarely manned and we had trouble getting our car into and out of the car park. They also managed to stuff up our dinner reservation. I don't think this was typical. Just a bad time to stay.

Helpful, friendly staff. Nice location in the town of Kenmare - convenient for driving the Ring of Kerry and walking to restaurants, pubs, golf course. Beds were hard and seemed worn out. We changed rooms, but no improvement.

The staff are very friendly and we really like Kenmare as a place to stay. We stayed here seven years ago and things are not quite as spic and span as they were then. Our room did have a king size bed but only one bedside light so one of us had to manage with a torch during the night! The room was also very dimly lit as was the bath room so putting on mkae-up was not an easy business.

It was a lovely hotel in a very central position . I liked it and would return again . Our bedroom window on the ground floor was too near the car park - very quite but too nervous to let the window open .

Location,Evening receptionist, staff, Victorian Decor and very accomodating and sympathetic with certain issues we had due to booking on line. The fact that internet bookings even though paying the same rate and more were not given a better room in the hotel. We had to ask to be moved from a dark, depressing basic room and yes it was admitted by staff because we booked on line we got a lesser standard of room, most disappointing. We were advised in future to ring direct and ask for a king room Take note booking.com, a disappointing result!!!!!. Breakfast very basic choice of menu after having such wonderful breakfasts in other establishments in the west and south west

While we were having breakfast, the waitress sang 2 songs & the entire dining room began to clap & sing - have never experienced such a thing -it was very enjoyable. The room was fairly basic, the bed wasn't very comfortable but overall it was very good value

The location was ideal, the breakfast was good and the staff were quite friendly On your reservation you advised that check-in could be after 15h00 and check-out before 16h00. The hotel immediately advised that check-out had to be before 12 noon. So this was very disappointing as I think it is false advertising on your side. This was a big inconvenience for us as we hoped to chill on the Sat but unable to due to the check out time as being 12 noon and not as you advised in your paperwork.

“The hotel is bright with nice decor. It is quite laid back. Breakfast was nice. The bedroom was very comfortable- especially the bed .I liked the 4 minute walk into the centre- it had a nice rural feel to it. The music in the bar Sat 6th August was very good and a nice surprise. The bar staff were very nice. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.” Fiona, Tullyallen Drogheda |
