Fabulous dinner, very good value for money
Very well-organised hotel with extremely efficient and friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts and a la carte dinners. Local seafood - salmon, mussels and crab. Highly recommended!
I loved everything. Friendly staff. Meeting other visitors from near and far. We had a wonderful stay in Leenane Hotel. The view from the bedroom balcony was spectacular. Food was excellent. I would totally recommend! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Can't wait.
There is nothing I can think about, except maybe warning visitors about traffic outside the front door. A railing may highlight any possible danger.
The friendliness, we felt at home right away. The beautiful treacle bread.
Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the small village with two very friendly pubs and local people.hotel as the most wonderful views from bedroom no.36 room size was really big and very comfortable.breakfast was buffet style lots to choose from.dinner was a little dissapointing for the price, had the steak but only came with chips but was very nice steak.the man in the bar in evening was really nice.would be staying here again.
Breakfast could of been warmer.
Attitude of staff
The location is superb. The rooms are comfortable and clean with the most beautiful view. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
We were disappointed with our evening meal. One of our party asked for her steak to be 'blue' but it was medium/rare. The selection of vegetables was o.k. but there was no sauce or gravy which made the meal rather dry. It could certainly have been better.
As soon as I stepped thru the door, I knew I had made the right choice. The surroundings are magnificent and I saw a rainbow from my room. Does it get any better?
everything was 10 out of 10
Conor on reception is some character and so very pleasant, friendly and helpful-keep up the great work.
Cooked breakfast was in fact cold.
Love this hotel. It is so relaxing. Food was top class in restaurant and very reasonable. Hotel probably best for mature people.
Food excellent, bar staff very accommodating and friendly.
Entertainment dire!Cleanliness not good. Check out the wall tiles in shower(at the bottom)
Very quite peaceful place and beautiful location, grear entertainment on the Wednesday night...will definitely return
Had a teenegar with us and the menu did not have a very wide selection on it ,mainly fish dishes which he did not like
The view was beautiful, enjoyed our stay and will be back!
Lovely hotel comfortable rooms fantastic location
everything! Staff were wonderful, food was amazing, the house itself was perfect, surrounded by the most fantastic scenery.
cant think of any thing
surroundings, view, light, bright bedroom. Breakfast was good. Bar special not very appetizing....
Soak......The lady emphasised what it was NOT recommended for, not what it is good for. She lacked enthusiasm for the product & was not very approachable .....times of availability not suitable.....evening is best time for soak!!
Room had a fantastic view. Good food and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Felt very comfortable.
Self service breakfast buffet. The cooked food was a bit dry from the food warmer.
Amazing views of the fjord. Amazing food in the restaurant too. Good buffet breakfast. Service was very good. Wifi worked in the end. Comfortable lounge area and plenty of parking. Definitely would recommend a stop here. Local traditional pubs and other restaurant too.
Nothing really. Only the owners should upgrade the rooms in the older part of the hotel. Our bedroom was in the newer part of the hotel, thank goodness.
the location and the friendly staff were so fulfilling , everybody was most helpful.
pictures were badly hung and the bar and dining areas needed dusting down
The Leenane hotel is in a wondeful location, overlooking Killary Fjord, 5 mins walk from the little village of Leenane. I stayed 2 different nights, and thus had 2 different rooms. Both rooms were very comfortable; good beds, good view, large bathrooms, great shower and plenty of hot water for the bathtub, tea/coffee making facilities in the room. One of my rooms was in the original wing of the hotel and I adored it - huge windows, real sense of being back in time. The location is excellent for touring and walking, and the hotel lounge is lovely, mix of antique furniture and comfy couches and chairs to relax in.. I will go back and stay a few days in a row to make the most of it. Reception staff were helpful about suggesting the best scenic drives and a local walk.
OK, let me repeat I liked this hotel a lot and will return. However, I am from a service background and I found my stay impacted by the following - I ate in the restaurant twice. The first night, I was greeted couteously and seated, but only offered the A La Carte menu, and didn't realize I had another option (set menu). I ordered a striploin steak, cooked medium rare. It was cooked perfectly, but it was tough and chewy and clearly was neither aged nor rested before being sent out to me. The seared goats chees starter was gorgeous tho.The second time, I arrived in at 6, which was when I'd been told by reception dinner service began. I initially went to eat in the bar, but there was no one behind the bar or anywhere. In the restaurant, there were two servers setting up, and I stood at the door for about 3 minutes before I had to say 'excuse me' to get the attention of a staff member a few feet away from me. This time, I asked for all the menus and said I would like to eat in the bar. In the bar, there were still no servers, no barstaff, and I sat down with my menus for about 10 minutes, during which even though a harried server came through and wiped tables, she never even stopped at the table to ask did I want a drink. I even went up to the bar, where she served someone else, then walked out without asking me if I wanted a drink. I asked was she on her own when shew returned and she said her colleague was running late. Ok, I get this but there was no porfessional courtesy in her manner and I had the feeling I was a pain in the butt for being there. AS I sat, I saw another couple come in and they had food in front of them by the time I decided to go back to the restaurant section. I got a great table near a window, which I was allowed to just walk over and sit at (with my menus). No one had alerted the server for this room that they had a new table.
Staff was nice and friendly. Nice cosy atmosphere in the bar.
Food was dissappointing. Room is an extension onto the hotel.
setting of hotel. view from room lovely
no entertainment at night (only at weekend ) Dinner at night poor. cleanliness poor overall. rooms could do with painting.
