Ideally located in central Dublin, Amberley House is just over half a mile from Croke Park Stadium.
Score from 959 reviews Very good
Fantastic value given the location and the room was much better than I expected for the money. It is compact but clean and comfortable.
Very Thin walls, could hear everything in other rooms. The receptionist was standing outside the front smoking and chatting when I walked in to Check in, I stood waiting at the desk until she finished her cigarette and conversation. There was a strange smell in the room when I went in first but was fine when I returned after a few hours.
I am not a lightsleeper but still really appreciated the lack of noise from this neighbourhood. It seems that the hotel provides first come first serve basis car parking spaces. However I found the on street parking to be rather plentiful esp on Wilton Terrace and appear to be safe. Room was spacious (perhaps due to being placed in the 3-bed room) and was cleaned out on daily basis. Everything also seem to be in working order.
Does not seem to have an elevator. Thankfully our room was on the first floor. There are no toiletries provided in the bathroom which might make a difference to some - there is however some refilled liquid soap in handwash bottle that could possibly be for everything.
the shower was just warm enough on the first morning !
Comfortable and clean Good location
Small room No hot water for shower
staff very friendly, location was great.
no heating or hot water, room really small,
Great location. Friendly staff. Great value for the facilities.
Small room if you have lots of luggage. No lift if you have trouble with stairs.
Quiet and well located near St Stephen Green.
The bathroom was incredibly small with no bath samples at all. Towels were stained and wet. The room was small, without even a closet, and with a strange smell. No elevator.
Location suited my visit
Lumpy bed Had to change room as tv didn't work Radiator didn't work so no heating Can hear traffic through old draughty windows Staff were indifferent when told them no heat in room
The room was warm and clean and had tea/coffee facilities which were appreciated. Ask for a room on the first floor as it's a long climb to the 3rd and no lift.
Reception a bit worn and dated and could have been cleaner. We didn't have the breakfast as it was very poor value. 1 cup of coffee, 1 bowl cereal, 1 piece white toast, 1 piece brown toast. 8 euros. extra coffee 2 euro toast 2 euro etc. we were shocked!! we have encountered this before. Noisy pub next door.
The staff were so lovely, our room was far bigger than expected and the furnishings were lovely, our towels were changed every day and the room was tidied each day too, you couldn't get any better value for money and I would definitely stay here again!
Very good location. Staff very nice.
I was woken up several times by people walking on the floor above me. No shampoo or conditioner. Considering a payment of €105, very expensive for a B&B without the breakfast!
I just needed a bed for the night and so for the price this was perfect.
6 flights of stairs to my room.
The hotel has a great location in the St. Stephen's Green area. The staff were quite positive and helpful during my stay.
I have nothing as a criticism.
Good location, flexible timings
internet only in the lobby, not the rooms
Large room, nice decor, great bathroom. The room seemed more recently renovated than the entire inn, which was a nice surprise. The beds were really comfortable, the bathroom was modern and very clean. The location was perfect. In a quiet area, but just a 5-minute walk from Saint Stephen's Green and 10 minutes from Grafton Street shopping area and about 15 minutes to the museums and churches. Easy to come back for a rest and then go out again for dinner. Overall a great experience. Would stay here again!
Wi-fi only really works in the reception area, which was frustrating. Hair dryer was attached to the inside of the closet and even though there was a mirror on the door it wasn't the easiest to use. The TV was the size of a small computer screen and much too far from the beds to really be useful. After our room was cleaned on our last full day there was a strange, sulphur smell that wouldn't go away. A few negatives, but they didn't take away from our lovely trip!
Good location, friendly staff, good value. The room was a little small but it was clean and the bed was comfortable.
A car was blocking the gate to the car park so I had to park on the street nearby.
Lovely tidy room, I traveled alone but staff aided me with any directions I needed just brilliant.
Obviously a pub nearby, music after midnight a bit of a distracton.
Staff where very friendly and helpful and its located close to the museums and st Stephens green plenty of shops pubs and restaurants near was a very enjoyable stay and excellent value for money I will definitely be back
You have to check out before 11 that was my only fault other than that all good
free coffe sashets
staff are so slow ..as in they dont know how to run a buisness.,,location is ok but abit out from temple bar,,rooms are tiny you cant open the bathroom door fully asits hitting the bed..the buillding is old and dirty
Nice staff who remembered us from previous visits.
Nothing has been done for years to make rooms more pleasant and prices have risen substantially
It was a cheap hotel, the staff service was excellent and verry helpfull. Verry clean room, fresh towels and linnen daily.
It was a verry small room, small bed (but good and comfortable), unfortunatly the hotel is situated in one of the more popular nightlife streets...lots of clubs and bars (enless you care for that you wont get sleep thill 3am when they close)
That it was close to the city centre
On the 3rd floor and no lift. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. noise from a nightclub of some sort went on until 4 or 5am. The water in the shower kept going cold
Loved the location. Place nice. Room small but fine given the cheap price.
It's very good located for cisiting the city center and in a quite street. Very good and cheap
The creepy lobby man.
