Dinner at McGettigan's
Noisy late night crowd and hotel guests.
Staff and location
Late bar should av been opened for longer.
Renovations begun at 9.30am, loud hammering and drilling in the floor above us. The staff didn't mention this on check in.
Very nice receptionist and staff very. Friendly
Very disappointed with the room after booking well in advance of stay ..could not be changed cause ye were fully booked ..beds very uncomfortable and not very presentable compared to other rooms ..
On arrival I was struggling with my case up the back stairs and one of the staff carried it up without even blinking.checking in was fast and the room was spotless and the bed really comfortable.our taxi was ordered and arrived promptly on returning to the hotel after our Xmas party the staff were really hospitable and we had a last drink in the bar before heading to bed
Being disturbed at 3am by someone trying to get in to our room but on ringing reception security dealt with the problem in minutes and the Nxt morning in checking out the manager approached us and apologised for any disturbance it was a first for any hotel I've ever stayed in and had to complain really really good managment and staff team they couldn't be more apologetic will highly recommend this hotel really central and parking is great
The staff were friendly!!
This hotel in my opinion has nothing remotely relaxing about it!!,our room was overlooking the underground car park, which was ok,untill nite time when the staff came out on breaks n started making noise!!,the only food at nite time was bar food and come 6/7pm the bar started filling up because of entertainment, and they dont do room service so unless your goin out for food you had to go dwn to the bar in or around this time.there was renovations being done while we wer there, there wasnt even a sign up apologising for inconvenience!!,the builders had t use the same lift, even though there wer 2lifts on each floor, only one was working!!..i was soooo dissapointed,it was ment to b a relaxing weekend away before xmas, instead it was the opposite
The Location was handy
The bedroom was in a serious need of refurbishment. The carpet was thread bare and the windows were locked shut with nails. No ventilation it was like sleeping in an ash tray!
Nice large room Very clean Very good WIFI Ideal location Car parking very close
Had a fan running all night over my head so sleep very disruptive, not helped either by the room radiator that came on sounding like water running from a tap.Car pass didn't work on morning of departure, delayed my journey start by 20 mins.
Woman at reception was very rude and ended up throwing the pen at me to sign for the room and then threw the room cards across the counter! Room was so hot and windows couldn't be opened properly. The noise coming from outside was ridiculously loud and lasted ALL NIGHT LONG! We left at 8.30 the next morning and there was staff outside in hall shouting at one another and slamming trolleys and doors! Have stayed here few times before but standard has dropped recently. Will never go back!
Location is excellent. Very central. Hairdryer wasn't working and a nice man came and replaced whilst I was having breakfast.
To be fair I recognise that the hotel is under going work. However some basics not great, shower knob kept coming off in my hand which meant I couldn't have a hot shower and there was no bulb in desk lamp.
Location, price, staff all great
Only one elevator working. Dodgy lock on my door so manager had to let us into our room at 1am.
Receptionist was friendly.
Noise early in the morning sounded in floor above us.
The new bar
No room service
Room was excellent & warm as the night we stayed there Wed Dec 10th, were strong winds. Hotel receptionist was very welcoming & helpful. Bar staff were very helpful & attentive to our needs, Food was excellent & I have recommended this hotel to family & friends. Bridie, Claremorris
Great location. friendly staff great food
Fantastic hotel we stayed in november for 21cc competition and the receptionists were very helpful xx
I left a necklace behind but it was gone when I phoned about it xx
Location; Staff; Rooms are very practical, not luxurious, but have every thing you need or would expect.
I forgot to try the food in the new McGettigan's pub which now seems to be part of the hotel - no one told me about it :-( I should not be giving it good reviews or the price might go up :-( It was a tiny bit more expensive than usual, but then again, half the price that other hotels were asking for the same night.
The Availablitly for the Bar/Lounge are, cleaniness of the rooms & Parking great
Extortionate, complicated parking arrangements
Very close to city centre. Friendly staff. Breakfast first class
Bar food was of very high standard with plenty choice
Location perfect for shopping, night out in city.
Receptionist was really nice and helpful room had a great onto the river
Order for dinner was messed up room could have been cleaner
The food in Mcgettigans bar and the bar itself was fantastic...
Get a room on upper floors so you are clear of the function rooms and bar
