In a beautiful, quiet location with mountain views, Pilgrims Rest is a charming, country-house hotel next to Mount Melleray Abbey, with en suite rooms and tasty food.

Staff helpful and friendly. Lovely view of the castle from the bedroom.
Bedrooms outdated and in need of a revamp.
The location and the hotel looks good from outside
Dowdy inside, first impressions of foyer were poor, furniture looked shabby, lack of staff, drab surroundings, barmaid could do with personality transplant doesnt cost anything to smile and be mannerly, clearly in the wrong profession, and on checking out a part time student employee looked after me-he didn't know how to operate their computer system and it all seemed very haphazard and unprofessional compared to so many other places I've stayed in, bedroom accommodation was very good though otherwise a bit rough and ready, wasn't impressed to be entirely honest.
Thanks to staff for looking after some details that Management should and won'T. With some investment this place would become in the reference of the area. Irish hotels have lot yet to improve.
Rooms are not clean enough, cobwebs should be removed. Toilets should never have damp patches on the ceiling.
Great location, spacious rooms with period feeling. Great views of the castle, great food, friendly staff.
Fantastically central location.
First bedroom allocated had no TV or radio. When one was found the Ariel not working Second bedroom had a working TV, but the miniscual bathroom had really bad smell of stagnant water. Also noisy as on front of hotel and immediately above smoking station Rooms 111 & 107....avoid!
Great, helpful, staff, good food. Good location and good value.
friendly staff. good food. great area.
It's just not that likeable, needs a makeover.
We've been coming to the Lismore Hotel for many years and always really enjoy it. The staff are very welcoming and efficient. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quite spacious and, if anything, the food is better than ever. We haven't been for a few years, but were delighted that the hotel continues to improve in every way.
That we regret we couldn't stay longer!
The staff the location
confusion over twin/double room. There is nowhere to specify what type of room you require. Breakfast was chaotic Television was a joke. No sound on RTE, Sky News was frozen and there is no indication on the customer notes as to what channel you're watching
good location to stop over as we were t ravelling from killorglin to new ross, staff very friendly clean hotel and good food excellent
bedroom not sound proof ,no curtains on bathroom window only nets got very little sleep young debs.celebrating on street until 5 in the morning.needs up dating

Well located, fabulous old hotel where the staff are wonderful and extremely friendly and efficient.great to be greeted with service for a tasty breakfast instead of the usual queuing up! Would recommend highly
Central but noisy.bed was clean.but rooms and hotel need a good overhaul.
the Location was excellent being in town, loved the old rustic café and castle, Staff were really hard working in hotel, hope management appreciate them, food was excellent great breakfast, set you up for the day. excellent weather.
Good location in a beautiful village. Staff friendly and helpful Hotel very clean and restaurant on site
Friendly bar staff and reception staff. Fabulous view over the park.
Friendly and helpful receptionist.
We were greeted by very welcoming staff. The receptionist was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The choice of breakfast wad good and the cooked breakfast was just lovely. The Restaurant staff were very courteous. We would definitely stay here again
There was no reservation there for me when i arrived, despite having a booking reference 8 days prior to my arrival.. Very disappointed with booking.com and lismore house hotel as they couldn't facilitate me....
Breakfast was good and quality of the rooms very high
dinner options very limited and not great quality which was a shame for what we thought was meant to be a high end establishment
Lovely bedrooms, comfy, spacious, crisp linen, tea/coffee making facility, couldn't be better.
Breakfast - fried breakfast was not good, overcooked (was the bacon & sausage deep fried?), no soda bread. Pity something so easy to do right fell short.
The bedroom was airy and very comfortable. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Gillian who waited on us was cheerful and knowledgeable about the food at dinner which was delicious. Great salmon sourced locally and scrumptious potatoes.
The entrance to the hotel is, sadly, aesthetically unpleasing. It needs to be overhauled in order to make it welcoming and more in line with the beautiful architectural lines of the building.
