Loud music next door.
Rooms shabby. Bathroom unclean. Asked to be moved but other options were worse!
The location of the Hotel for the Longford marathon was excellent, just outside the door, so it was great on the morning of the run. Right in the heart of the town if you wanted to do a bit of shopping.
The room was pookey, no space, the minute you walked in the door you were at the bed and just a small walk way to the ensuite which had no bath. The TV in the room was a small portable old fashioned telly high on the wall and could only get 1 channel that was watchable. The room was down a long run down carridor whcih I didn't like
Location for the Longford marathon is perfect. The start/finish line is just outside the hotel. Great breakfast, friendly receptionist (Rachel), good gym and pool facility
The hotel has an old and new sections. Rooms are the same price but the old part of the hotel (where we were) is small and dark. The corridors are equally old - sagging floors, and dusty/dirty carpets. The bathroom door didn't close and there was never any hot water (only lukewarm showers!) in our room. The band playing on Saturday night in the pub could be heard in our room and the morning traffic from the Main Street is surprisingly loud! In the new part of the hotel our friends had night club music blaring into their rooms. The wifi is very very poor. Only accessible in reception and outside the conference room. The hotel was being renovated so we expected some inconvenience ... But we didn't expect to have to walk through a building site on our floor - wood chippings, nails, furniture etc scattered all over the corridor. The location for the race is the only reason to consider staying here. But there are other places not too far away and there is a car park behind the hotel that you can easily access which is also perfect for the race (and only 2 euro for the day). That's certainly my plan for next year's event!
The location is good in the center of Longford.
€70 a night for accommodation that is worse than a hostel. The room, bathroom and communal areas were really dirty. Everything was old & run down looking. The window in our room wouldn't close so it was cold at night. I actually hated everything about this hotel! It was a real disappointment.
Unkempt room and incredible dirty chairs in breakfast room.
When we arrived in room it smelt damp TV didn't work room was beside a bar which was very noisy, got moved to another room wasn't much better mould on walls cold and had no hot water all weekend, breakfast was non existent
Thought one of the reception staff could have been a bit friendlier. The leisure centre had a lovely girl on on Sunday. Overall, I was happy with the hotel and thought the previous negative reviews didnt match our experience.
location, friendliness of staff
room overlooking side road ( 202 ) too noisy.traffic noise moved to room 203 much better until last night very noisy from room next door ( 201 ) and no consideration for other guests
The situation, its car park, convenience to shops etc
Room 17 had nothing to recommend it.....grey net curtains which looked as though they needed a wash...an extractor fan that emitted smells into the room if you had the windows open...queueing up for breakfast in a cafeteria fashion.
Really liked our stay and the staff were very accommodating from reception to departure. I missed breakfast and was delighted with the offer of a cup of tea and a scone by the friendly Australian girl in the coffee dock, small acts like this bring clients back. Food was great too.
Cannot think of a thing, we will definitely return.
Very comfortable beds, location fab and breakfast good and plenty of it.
Lot of noise sat and Sunday night.few members of staff not as friendly in breakfast areas yet others couldn't do enough for you.
Hotel is a little tired needs rejuvenating
Private parking for guests, pleasant room.
Strong musty smell in room, bar meals average.
What did I like? Absolutely nothing.
Didn't enjoy d food in d bar .
The bar staff in cafe was very ignorant rude an cheeky don't understand why she works there !!! Charged for half cooked breakfast that should of been free was an effort for her to make toast!! Never again she should be fired
Food was very good, Very comfortable. Facilities very good with lots of parking.
There was no set restaurant to dine in at night. Male bar staff not very attentive kept me waiting for menu.
Lovely high bed Nice breakfast
New TV there but not connected - old one very poor picture. Wi-Fi didn't work on smartphone or tablet Loud music well past midnight
Centre of town with everything near by
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent.
WiFi was very hit and miss in a number of areas
Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Rooms very clean and breakfast was lovely great selection.
Minor maintenance issues need to be attended to around hotel and bar eg seats in bar grubby and wallpaper missing if wall. Steam room not working.
Central and convenient. Nice breakfast. Certainly is very good value for money and a decent spot to stay in the Midlands
