The hotel setting is so spectacular with breathtaking scenery. The staff are really welcoming, warm, helpful and extremely friendly - they cannot do enough for you and give plenty of advice with regards to local attractions - and there is so much to do in the area, especially if you like the out-doors. The restaurant food is divine and scrumptious. The hotel is really charming, romantic and comfortable. We had a huge comfy bed. My husband and I definitely plan to return as soon as we can!

The Lough Inagh Lodge has lovely views of the mountains and lough. I feel this is the most endearing feature of the Lodge. My Husband and myself were travelling with 3 friends from America. I was somewhat disappointed when I first saw the lodge but I think the surrounding beauty is the highlight. The room we had was Large, nicely furnished and clean. The bathroom was also really large with a ‘dressing room’ leading into it which had slippers and robes. There were a few toiletries in the bathroom and there were also 2 bottles of water on a table in the room, which are all nice touches. I have to say it was a comfortable room and there were 3 sections of windows giving good views of the grass area and also a glimpse of the Lough from one of the side windows. Within the Lodge, there are a couple of nice rooms to relax in (like drawing rooms- old fashioned word I know) with a variety of books to read if desired. We all adjourned to one of the rooms for most of the evening. We ordered coffee and dessert and sat happily beside the log fire chatting. After a long drive it was just what we needed! (We had misjudged the driving distance from Clifden to Recess, that N59 is forever etched on our memories, it took such a long time to get there but we had a laugh). Next morning we had a lovely breakfast; there is plenty of choice and they even brought out some freshly baked scones from the oven which was a nice touch. In conclusion, I think due to the fact that we had stayed in 2 castles before arriving at the Lodge (The Lough Rynn Castle and The Abbeyglen Castle Hotel), it had less of an impact on us all, the only WOW factor was the surrounding beauty of the Lough and Mountains. However having said that, the lodge is a nice relaxing place, the staff are friendly, the food is nice and as mentioned the scenery is fantastic I had booked 3 rooms: 2 Doubles and 1 Single. All of our rooms were allocated beside each other, as stated above we had no problem with our room, in fact I think we had the nicest amongst the 3 rooms. However, the other couple had to move from their room because upon entering their room, my friend noticed a strong unpleasant odour . She indicated this to me to see if I could get anything myself and immediately upon entering I got the same smell. It reminded us of ‘sewage’. The gentleman who was checking us in, noticed that we looked unhappy and we told him the problem (although I don’t know how he didn’t smell it). He asked did they want to move to another room which of course they did. He apologized for the inconvenience but he did try to suggest that it was from somebody previously smoking in the room but without a doubt in our minds, that wasn’t the source of the problem. My friends were moved to a room upstairs which was nice but they had preferred the first room, so unfortunately it did put a bit of a dampner on the experience. The other negative point would be that when we went to bed that night, due to the fact that our bedroom was located on the ground floor at the end of the corridor, I awoke to voices and laughter coming from either the bar or one of the sitting rooms. My friend who was at the beginning of the corridor could hear it more clearly than us and the other couple who had been moved upstairs said that they felt like they were situated over the bar area due to the noise levels. I personally got back to sleep quickly but I think the other 3 were not as fortunate. Therefore this might be something to bear in mind when booking a room.

Friendliness, we were treated like friends of the family, rather than paying guests. Great food, really comfortable atmosphere and a great hotel to relax in for a weekend.

We loved the place totally. We wished we were able to stay longer but had another venue to move on to. The people, food, atmosphere, our fabulous room overlooking the lake are just some of the great things about Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel. We will definitely be going back, and for a longer stay.

We traveled from Dublin to Lough Inagh the day we arrived in Ireland. It is a pleasant 3 hour drive, and we stopped at Clonmacnoise on the way. The drive to the hotel from Galway was beautiful. As we approached the Lodge we felt awe-inspired. The Lough, the mountains, the endless vistas were magnificent. The greeting we received was very friendly and warm, and there was a fire burning. The rooms were very cozy and large. We walked down to the Lough and then around the gardens before dinner. The dinner was delicious. An after dinner drink in the living room then to sleep. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland.Would go there again. A great place to begin your Conamarra explorations.

Lough Inagh is wonderful - great location; lovely, lovely staff especially Maire the owner; good food; and a relaxing country house hotel feel. Less pretentious than many and certainly more friendly. I thoroughly recommend a stay there.

The remote location made for slight difficulties as we were travelling by public transport. A 'phone call from the local post office and we were collected and delivered to the hotel. The rooms are excellent and the food of a very high standard. The owners make everyone so welcome. The contents of the hotel are fascinating. Nothing at all to complain about! We travel a lot and don't make a habit of returning but this is somewhere special which I would be surprised if we do not revisit.

Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel has all the comforts and charm of an old country house. The service, staff, ambience is first class and you were made to feel so welcome and important from the minute you checked in. Intend to go again in October.

Fantastic surroundings, excellent staff attention to detail and extremely friendly and helpful. While the menu is good the food let down the experience alittle possibly due to not having full capacity of the hotel. It was satisfactory but not wow.

The location was wonderful - fantastic access to Connemara, lakes, mountains. Well sign-posted and nice access to lake in front of hotel. Nice hotel surroundings. Comfortable. Very helpful, welcoming and friendly staff which added to our short stay. Appreciated the rich heritage that is still being maintained in the hotel, through furnishings etc. Too expensive!! Quality and provision does not match the price of €139 for a double room. The facilities available do not match the price - small number of tv channels, no tea/coffee facilities, no mobile phone coverage, weak wifi in hotel room. I actually don't have a problem with not having al of the above - yet I need to be given something more when paying such a large amount! The location and style of the hotel is not enough for this price. I also felt that the food was overpriced in the dinner menu - though we were very appreciative when the chef made up a second vegetarian dish for us. ( we are vegetarians, and like most places, there was only one veg option on the main course menu). I'd like to know why the food was expensive - was it organic? Locally sourced? Perhaps this can be clarified on the menu. Also, some quiet, background music would work really well in the restaurant area. The reading areas were accessible, very comfortable and homely. I also liked the fresh flowers and would have appreciated more fresh flowers/plants in the hotel rather than plastic flower arrangements (again, matching quality with price). I think this place has such potential- great location, great staff - but based on the room that we got, I feel that the pricing scheme needs to be evaluated.

“Wonderful location with fabulous views. The quietness, tranquility was just amazing. Perfect for that little weekend get-away and to top it all off, the unbelievably fantastic food and service. I also loved, that one could sit in the foyer in front of the lovely wood fire and have a glass of wine or whiskey, every effort was made to make the stay a memorable one. All in all, a really and truly lovely hotel, set in a wonderful setting..” Michelle, Horgen |
