Abbey Hotel Roscommon  

I have stayed at the Abbey before and always enjoyed my stay. I take back good memories and wil surely tell people about it. Margaret Murray

The staff were very helpful and the hotel itself was very peaceful and we would recommend it to family and friends.

I liked the breakfast, the proximity to town, the price, and the ruins of the friary in the grounds

I'd rather have a duvet rather than blankets and sheets, it was rather cold at night

have stayed in the Abbey Hotel numerous times and year on year they are so accommodating, friendly, courteous and for a family of 5, I have yet to find another hotel that offers such great value for the accommodation.

Food and drink are very expensive; breakfast included in our room rate though is fantastic- that said the quality of the food is extremely high and was the best food we'd had during our stay!

Fantastic Wedding Venue! We got married here and everything was perfect.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the restaurant is generally excellent for families and is good with children. There is a good gym and pool open to hotel residents where most of the locals in Roscommon go as gym members. It is near the centre of Roscommon Town so we could go out on foot to the shops and restaurants there easily.

Would it be possible to warn people in advance that pool users need a swimming cap? The bath towels are ok but larger ones would be luxurious!

The staff were all so friendly and attentive, they really stood out from staff in other hotels and made our stay a pleasure

The hotel was nice but is in need of some redecoration, quite grubby/dated in appearance inside. Staff were helpful. Room was spacious.

Cooked breakfast was terribly greasy. Tv was terrible, bad reception, dated & small. No way to control temperature (or lack of) on the radiators. Just as well there was no need to have them on. Hair Dryer in the room was no good, no power & burnt itself out very quickly.

Very comfortable and professionally run hotel which caters well for all ages. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the service is good. We were there for a family wedding and were made very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is also well placed for the town centre. The leisure centre is good and we had a swim and used the gym.

If I could change 2 things they would be : the bath towels- make them the size you have in the leisure centre the buffet breakfast at the weekend. The scrambled eggs were hard. I now know I could have asked for some poached eggs but it wasn't pointed out at the time.

The food was pretty good and the front lawn was lovely. Also, the friary behind the hotel was interesting

The requirement for a swim hat seemed out-of-date and pretentious. Also, the hotel was a little too shabby to be considered a four star facility. It was probably spectacular ten or fifteen years ago.

We stayed the day and night befere our wedding and everybody was happy and comfortable which made thestay perfect. We will definatly be returning. Lovely grounds for photographs

Not a great menu in resturant but bar menu better
