Friendly staff, ok location.
The person who stayed in the room before me obviously had an accident as the bed stank of urine - covered up with bleach.... I have never experienced anything like this before in any accomodation I stayed in. Apart from that: This place hasn't been modernised in at least 30 years. The room was tiny and the toilet / shower was a seperate room!! The room felt filthy, if sometihing fell on the floor you would not risk picking it back up!! Won't be coming back.
(young couple)We had stayed for 5 nights and everything was perfect: great location (10-15 minutes to deep centre) we were on foot every day (it saves your money for transportation) great breakfast - very tasty and huge (our second meal was usually around 5 or 6 PM). (you save for 2 persons around 18 EUR for a day). The room was very warm and cosy. You do not have to bring anything because, Catherine provides you with: map of the city, recommend attractions, trip advice and also with an electric adapter, hair-dryer and so on..., just go to ask her. She is the most kind person in the whole Ireland :) we promise :). She is always in great mood (singing, laughing) She brightens your day, very communicative person. The price is at very low rate for the whole benefits what Marian Guest House offers. We would definetelly return here - it had been one of ours best holidays. Catherine thank you once again :) We hope to see you again :)
The staff were completely lovely and helpful, the breakfast was great and I had everything I needed
I was on the top floor with a bathroom separate to my room, the room was very basic
Clean and hospitable, this B&B served surprisingly good breakfast, and the owners were helpful and friendly.
The room, especially the bathroom, was quite small, but both bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The area is close to city centre, but not a good area for walking after dark, although close to bus lines for city centre and to airport.
Great b/fast. Good location to city.
Small room. Very small shower & bathroom. Decor a bit old. No parking available.
Friendly atmosphere and helpful with local hints and tips. Breakfast really good and kept me going the rest of the day. Comfortable beds.
Plus of central location meant a bit of road noise at night - double glazing keeps most of it out.
Really good service and lovely room. I slept very well and everything was perfect!
Welcome was good. If we needed anything we were given it. Our privacy was respected. Never felt under pressure. Great to have the use of a fridge in the kitchen. Breakfast was delicious.
Can't think of anything
Free parking and WiFi was key. Breakfast was excellent and the owner was very kind.
On busy street so a little noisy
It is a good place to spend the night specially if you need to take the bus to the airport the next day (this bus has a stop at this street).
Maybe I was used to the wonderful B&B of the west coast, with so many details, nice owners, incredible home baked breakfasts... so I am not sure if I am 100% objective, but this was without any doubt the worst hotel of my trip. No facilities in the room, a bit noisy, and the owner was nice, but not as much as I had read in the opinions before going. The continental breakfast is not very good. We didn't want the Irish breakfast, so we received only a basket with toasts (half of them burned XD). So, based on the opinions and the price, I was expecting more, but as I said, I don't know how is the average hotel in Dublin.
Very welcoming. Very comfortable bed. Badly wanted good night sleep. Very good breakfast served by cheery hostess. Very good value for money.
Owner was very welcoming. Breakfast was great and owner was very accommodating. Location was perfect (10 minute walk to city centre)
Great location, short walk to city, everything was fantastic, great breakfast options, they were very accommodating to our needs, very friendly people.
Only negative was the very small bathroom, but good pressure in the shower. The size wasn't a problem for us, by may be for some people.
Walking distance from Dublin Center
No extra whatsoever
Loved Catherine, the hostess. Sent instructions on how to get to B&B from airport well in advance. We were there for Penn State football game and were 5-minute walk from stadium, yet an easy 20-minute walk to downtown.
Road noise impacted sleep if window was left open, but I'm a light sleeper. Shower and bathroom were small, but it was a happy trade-off to have en-suite facilities.
The kindness of the staff. They are so helpfull and just... sweet. You feel a bit like your at home and have a mother taking care of you. The breakfast is very good and more than enough. If you eat the Irish breakfast you don't need dinner untill the evening. The best shower I had during my three weeks stay in Ireland.
There isn't anything I didn't like. The only thing I can imagine that would put some people off is the distance between the hostel and the historic centre of Dublin (which takesabout 15 to 20 minutes).
Staff were really friendly and very accommodating. Room was very clean.
I read the other reviews and thought to myself, "how lovely can people really be?" They lived up to their reputation, and then some. Genuinely lovely people. Easy access from the airport (number 41 bus, around 3 euros, 30 minutes), 15 minute walk to Temple Bar and City Centre, kitchen to use if you need to make tea and coffee. Great.
Lovely old b&b, great breakfast and very helpful host. Easy walk into the temple bar area.
Not in the nicest area of Dublin.
The gnome in the front. The owner was nice.
The breakfast, location, beds, noise. Would not go back. Worst B&B on our trip so far.
Staff,careing.Breakfast porrage great.Location great.
It is close to the citycenter. WIFI is working well
Our room was very small. only a 120cm doublebed. We told before that our 7 month old daughter will sleep ascwell in our bed. As the result my wife slept on a mattres on the floor! We never saw such a small TV before. The bath room is so small that you have difficulties to enter the shower. The area around the B&B is very poor and dirty. A lot of beggars around.
Ten minute walk to the city centre and very convenient for buses. Close enough to the city, but also far enough away from the pubs not to be disturbed. The owners are lovely and friendly and willing to help in anyway. Breakfast was full cooked Irish breakfast which was a welcome start to the day.
Ideal for what we wanted as we visited places during the day and were out most of the evening, so can't really fault it.
The owner was very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The B&B was in walking distance to everything. We has a car, so it was great having parking on site.
