We were going for one night for funeral. It was great value breadfast was very good, early bird the evening before was not so good we should have gone for bar food. I would stay again and would recommend the hotel to others. As I said the early bird was not good.

I liked the size of the rooms and the large relatively modern bathroom. Good options for lunch, tea and dinner.I was visiting relatives so the location was the most important thing for me. The furniture is old and the wardrobe is especially decrepit. If the bathroom is modern the sink shouldn't have separate hot and cold taps. The windows were very dirty.

I thought the helpfullness of the staff was excellent....very friendly and a pleasant to deal with. The hotel was very nicely designed. The breakfast menu was exceptional....but again, the staff were the best. I haven't slept in a single bed for years even though a solo traveller so I did feel a little cramped.......but wouldnt stop me from staying there again.

We live in England. So, we chose to take the Ferry over for St. Patrick's Day weekend. Didn't want to stay right in the City Center, so we found Sutton/Marine Hotel. We loved the location, it was an easy DART ride to the City Center at a low price of around 5 Euro (return ticket). Howth is close too, which is a Beautiful Fish Market area. Marine Hotel's views from our Hotel window were Stunning. We will definitely be booking another trip over and stay at the Marine Hotel.

very convenient to transport both to City and Howth. Reception varied from day to day. Some times no customer recognition what so ever. ie. greeting, good morning ,have a nice day!!l Breakfast, despite being cooked to order, left a lot to be desired! Had scrambled egg no flavour whatsoever. Rashers were overcooked and had obviously been kept warm, needed a chisel to cut. We stayed an extra night but didnt bother having breakfast as it was so poor. location of Hotel saved the weekend!!! Poached eggs were like bullets also. Sunday morning.

Lovely location with local shops and view of the sea whilst 25 mins on bus or Dart fastrack train to centre city. Lovely swimming pool. Good bar facilities. At the base of Howth hill with its cliff walks, it looks out on a bay with Bull Island bird sanctuary. Sutton and Howth and Portmarnock golf clubs nearby. Local groups offer regular walks.

Nice hotel, easy access to destination Sutton Golf Club for private function, free easy parking, welcoming reception staff, easy check in, nice breakfast. Liked that price included breakfast. Booked on Booking.com website, didn't shop around for more competitive pricing or ring hotel to bargain for better rate, 99 euro seemed reasonable for b&b for two. We didn't use the leisure facilities or pool, but nice to know they exist. Room fine, shower very powerful and refreshing. Fab view over sea and Dublin Bay, Howth Head and Dublin Mountains. Wonderful! Power shower tended to flood bathroom as so powerfu - like a water cannon - it created a sort of airstream that blew the curtain around and I think a glass screen would be much better. Also temp. Reg. Could have been better, hot was just below what I like and not poss. To raise this. Not liking 6 Euro/hr WiFi cost. Most hotels have free public WiFi, I wouldn't pay it as I have a phone with data bundle but thought it a bit mean spirited. If I was on business and wanted to use laptop I'd be really cross. Would influence my staying or not. Also Porridge as a breakfast option alongside full Irish and other dishes? Hallo, porridge is a hot cereal, all other hotels have it either on sideboard with the other cereals or on request from kitchen. And scrambled eggs alone not great - should be available with rasher/mushrooms/tomato if wished. I normally have scrambled eggs with mushrooms and was a bit peeved to have to get full Irish to get the mushrooms. Granted, I didn't ask and it would probably be possible if I had. I hope so. Otherwise, a nice pleasant hotel.

Every member of our family group (14 of us) agrees that the Marine Hotel was the perfect choice for our stay in Co. Dublin. The staff is professional in every respect. The rooms provide everything we could have hoped for and the restaurants, bar, and dining room exceed every expectation. The Marine Hotel is a very special place.

On a positive note this property was close to the airport, Sutton dart station and Howth I imagine at one time this hotel was quite special but it is showing its age and we were disappointed with the overall quality of the room and the property itself. The view of the bay is without a doubt the best thing the place has going for it however there is no access to the beach/water from the property. The place seems generally tired and worn and there was dinner debris, soda bottles and garbage strewn about both inside and out. Our room had some wear and tear which could have easily been fixed - peeling wallpaper, an unsecured carpet tile, a gouge in the paint on the wall. The windows needed cleaning which took away from the stellar view. Staff was adequate - neither terrible nor fantastic.
