Each & every member of Staff were polite, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! Great customer service and a true asset. Great location, close to Aviva Stadium and close enough for city centre. Great breakfast with variety and generally good food in the main bar. This is a very good hotel and value for money. Would very much be first choice whenever we return to Dublin.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Grand Canal, the staff were extremely inviting and courteous and honestly couldn't do more to make our stay as perfect as it was. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will not hesitate to stay here myself in future trips to Dublin. 10/10!

we got a lovely quiet room at the back of hotel

The room itself was great. Very comfortable bed, lovely robes (although they were quite hard), clean bathroom and comfortable leather chairs. The best thing about it for me was the smart tv - great if you have a Netflix account.

I was very disappointed with the customer service of this hotel from the very beginning. I was travelling with 3 others (2 double rooms), and we were quite annoyed to hear on arrival that our rooms were not yet ready. Granted, we arrived at approx. 2Pm and check-in was not until 3pm, but we really did not think this should have been a problem as surely there were 2 rooms in the whole hotel that were cleaned?? After all, check-out is 12pm. We had to wait around for a while for our rooms so we decided to get something to eat in the bar next door (average). When we went back to reception about an hour later, one room was ready, but one was still not cleaned!! All we wanted to do at this point was relax and put our bags away so we decided to all go into the 1 room and wait for the other to be cleaned. The receptionist insured us that the key for the second room would be dropped up to us in 20 mins. An hour later there was no sign of the key so we rang reception a good 5 times - each time the call was unanswered. We were getting very annoyed at this stage and had wasted enough of our day so we decided to go out & about. We called to reception on the way out and got the key - so it had been ready. Waste of time. When we returned and finally got into our room we were very impressed with it, thank god. However, we had a few requests, such as late check-out for the following morning and an ice bucket. So we rang reception, but there was so answer again. I honestly must have rang 15 times. I dialled '0' which we were told to do at reception upon checking in, and I also dialed the 'front desk' button on the phone and the 'room service' button. About 15 attempts later a man answered the room service number, telling me I had to dial 0 for reception. After explaining the problem he told me he would try to resolve it and to ring back in a few minutes.

We were attending a show at the Bord Gais and it was very easy to get to from. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go back again.

Food was only ok and expencive for what we got.Bar was clean but could do with a re-vamp. saying that the bar staff were very good and helpful.

The extra touches such as a proper hairdryer & bathrobes the fact that the staff are not knocking on doors before checkout time the breakfast was excellent

The food in the restaurant was nice. Staff were friendly.

The food in the restaurant was delicious, but VERY expensive. I think 16 euros for a steak with a mushroom and a tomato (Literally!) is a bit too much. Breakfast was havoc. There was a concert and more people than usual. They did not accommodate for this. The queue was out the door of the breakfast area to the reception, literally.

Very clean hotel. Nice modern bedroom. We had a very tasty snack in the bar.

Good location and efficient

Rooms were very warm and as the hotel was busy it was loud and we had to close the windows to keep the noise levels down as people were outside at a function below our room. Also found the breakfast staff unfriendly and slow, which was in comparison to the reception staff who were very friendly

Reception Staff Excellent, friendly and helpful, gave very good recommendations on where to eat locally and how to get around.

Breakfast was terrible, food dried up, very little choice but the worse part was the stale smell in the breakfast room from the previous nights function. This was so off putting that we ate very little and left.

It had a nice lobby easy to relax and chat.the room was nice and the location was fantastic for the grand canal theathre.

We were given two single beds,which I didn't like. The pillows were horrendous and found it very hard to sleep on them.

The front desk staff was very friendly and informative. The room was adequate and a good size and reasonably clean. Nice free wifi. Free parking. Easy 15 minute walk to St Stephen's Green and Trinity College. Safe area which was important because we were two female friends travelling.

The restaurant was chaos, the manager rude. Took over an hour to get food and it was one if our worst meals in Ireland. We had not had a bad meal before that night in two weeks in Ireland. They did remedy some of the poor service, but just not good PR or customer service. Beds were like cots....very narrow and not comfortable. Room was hot with no remedy. All that said it was an okay price for what you received and I would suggest it to others for value.

Cold shower literally it was barely above the cold taps temperature, location ok but a 20 minute walk into town, the breakfast selection was ok but terrible pot of coffee

We had a room on the Executive Floor which I would recommend. It was very comfortable with a sitting area. The bar on the ground floor can be very noisy on weekend nights so the higher up and further away you are the better.

Despite the hotels best efforts, after a refurb, the big bar eatery still smells of stale beer and boozy nights!

we had dinner in the room and the room service and food where much appreciated. When the heating did not work the manager cared enough to bring an alectric heater and tried to fix the proble; i;;ediately.

residence bar closed around 12pm,told to take seat near reception and someone would take order, waited for about 15 mins, nobody came so we went to bed

Thought hotel was somewhat remote and not close to any amenity. It is fine on a Friday or Saturday night but we were there also on a Sunday night and it was completely without atmosphere.If you are going to a concert in either O2 or Bord Gais Theatre, I would suggest either Jury's Inn or the Clarion as they are much closer and easier to get to the venue. Dont be fooled by the name of Grand canal hotel and grand canal Theatre. They are not that close and the walk to the Bord Gais is not that secure.

i liked that when i woke in the morning there wasn't a sound of traffic i could have been out in the country. Anna at the reception was lovely girl to have as welcome as front of house the room was lovely and clean

the staff in the bar i not sure about we said that we would have a drink before we head out i had a glass of beer it was flat and the staff at the time were very busy to say any thing . the chef was also in the bar and his clothes were not that clean looking and that was the reason we didn't have breakfast in the morning
