Location, staff were friendly also.
When I paid it stated that a breakfast would be included. Upon arrival we were told that breakfast was not included due to renovations. A stag party were staying in the room next to us. Not anything to do with the B&B but a fight broke out between the stag party members. We didn't get to sleep until 4 am due to their shouting & roudy nature.
It's location is fantastic for Kilkenny as it's right in the heart. The room was warm in temperature.
Lots of mould in the bathroom. The noise outside could be heard throughout the night. No breakfast included. The room was basic with furniture.
Great value for money, great location
Too close to street and pubs - very noisy at week-end
Very small room
Value for money no noise walking distance for shopping and transport
Nothing I didn't like
The bedroom was very clean and location excellent. Very friendly staff
I didn't like the size of the room it was more like a single room even though there was a double bed it was pushed in against the wall.
Locations is great no need for taxi
Triple room was very small
Difficult to gain access as need to phone McCourts while standing outside in the cold. McCourts need to this easier and more welcoming
Size of room.
Great for groups such as hen parties etc
We've stayed in mc courts townhouse a couple of times before on a girls night away. The standard of cleanliness has dropped since the river court hotel don't own it anymore. Room 110 had a terrible smell of urine in it. We had to leave the window open all day and night. Close when going to bed and reopen first thing in the morning. Would like to see an improvement on that
I didn't like tge smell in the rooms and also no soap in the dispenser for hand washing. Nobody on reception on a Sunday morning either so that we could get some.
Room was supposed to be a double but was tiny could not be called more than a single. Also room not cleaned properly, and bathroom grubby- toilet used and not flushed! Have stayed here previously in a much nicer room but was disappointed on this occasion.
Central in Kilkenny, walking distance of city centre.
No on site parking. Rooms were abit cold and there was a strong food smell from the downstairs restaurant in the first room so we asked to change room which they did no problem. Beds are very close together- not much space in room but for the length of time you spend in the room, it's bearable!
Location was good , room was large
poor access requirements - I had to telephone from the hotel nextdoor to contact the restauraunt to get the staff to let me in. I suggest to Install a coded access system to bypass having to contact the restauraunt. Shower in the room was very small and water was not hot enough for a hotel standard. I paid hotel prices - 90 euro for 1 night with no breakfast but given the overall experience, it should have cost 50-60 euros
Overall, the main draw is its cheap enough. Clean sheets, fresh towels, very central location.
Had a slight issue getting in to the guesthouse due to having to phone for someone to let me into the building and was left standing in the cold while both phones were engaged for over 10 minutes. The carpet in the room was quite worn and grubby. Also, the sound insulation needs a lot of work. While it was mildly amusing to awaken to hear the couple in the room above pleasuring each other, it suddenly dawned on me how awful it would have been to have brought one of my kids with me and tried to explain the situation. The floors and ceiling must be paper thin as unfortunately I could hear word for word and grunt for grunt and they weren't exactly loud.
comfort location free wi-fi
no facilities to make tea in the morning the light fixture above mirror in bathroom was not working some staff were not approachable
The location is excellent. Check in was very prompt and hassle free. Staff were friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend this establishment. A real gem.
There was no hot water but we did get up late. When I brought it to the staff's attention they were very apologetic and immediately rectified the situation.
The staff were fairly good and brought clean bed sheets most day, some days they didn't bring toilet paper but overall was good
It cost €10 a day for parking and some days we ended up paying more because the machine would swallow the ticket although we were told it would last all day and night
I stayed in mc courts twice the first time had a decent sized room unfortunately I stayed there at the weekend and the room was tiny way too small- the staff were very friendly though and food was nice too
Location was great!
Difficult to check in, doors locked, but worked out ok. Stairs hard with luggage no lift.
The price was fair the staff were very nice
Location in town centre
Poorly maintained fittings. Radiator loose from wall. Wash basin cracked. Tap loose.
Great place to stay.as big Arnold says, Il BE BACK.
The fact that I only had to nights instead of longer.
