we upgrade to a suite and it was well worth it. The food is beautiful there. Very classy night away if you want to spoil yourself.
Nice fire to warm up! Good choice at breakfast, big bed & excellent location opposite the national park.
I didn't like the policy of no under 18's in the pool. We were hoping to bring our child swimming. This was a big disappointment, especially as the pool looked beautiful in the photos. Also, I would have appreciated more channels on the TV. I don't like watching tv while on holidays but the weather meant going with my child unpractical.
Ideal for those who want to be on the doorstep of Killarney National Park. Free bikes as well, although due it being the winter season try weren't immediately available but got them for us the next day after arrival. Great food options and lovely pool spa
Pool is on the small side so wouldn't be suitable for lengths, more of a "spa pool". A little bit outside of the village but can get €10 taxi in if you want
Were upgraded to a suite which was lovely and made stay more relaxing. Staff were very nice and very helpful.
Monks bar not available which was very disappointing considering it was New Years Eve as other Bar wasn't very inviting to us.
5 star treatment
Friendly staff Cosy atmosphere Great food Lovely spa
Having to walk outside to get to the bar area when there was a wedding in the main bar
Lolling in water facilities: sauna, hot outdoor tub, nice quiet pool, etc.
Bedroom ceiling felt too low; our room was on the shaded side of building so it felt gloomy - no sunshine at all. Bedroom comfy with good linen, but found dark wardrobe and TV container dreary/not stylish . Found food in bar was overpriced for what it was.
Everything about the hotel was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful especially the porters who were the best well- coming crew ever I have experienced . There is a wonderful buffet or served breakfast .Good to have a choice ! Would suggest a visit for anyone visiting Killarney
Spa treatments far too expensive. A full manicure costs 65 euro . But it is a choice!!
The bed was very comfortable, the spa was excellent as was the breakfast.
The sound proofing of our room was poor, there was Christmas party on in the function room and we could hear everything. While the bathroom was nice the actual toilet was of poor quality.
We loved the reception we recieved on arriving at the hotel the Staff were very nice from the start and were willing to help out at any time. Food in both the hotel and adjoining pub was fantastic and very well presented. Spa and Thermal suite was very nice and staff also very helpful.
Room needs a little attention phone was disconnected also bedside lamp wasn't working due to loose connection. We tried to ring Room service on Friday night at 2am and this rang out each time. Car park is a bit small if function is on.
Warm welcome..luxurious room..excellent food..friendly and obliging staff.
It was a beautiful hotel, staff very friendly, love Killarney
Use of Sauna, steam room ect was extra, 10 euro each and we were only informed of this when we went down to spa area. Also we were in room 230 and it sounded like we were on a ferry all night long must have been the aircon ????
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Nothing but goods things to say about the whole visit
The staff were excellent. We liked the fires going in the hall. The bar was lovely with comfy seating and nice lighting. Good food in the restaurant if pricey. Breakfasts very fresh and substantial.
The bathroom was a little tired and too small for the size of the room. There were three large mirrors on the bedroom wall. Some prints would have been better. Breakfast cereals could have been more inventive in such a classy place. What's wrong with making your own granola-muesli and compots? It would also be an idea to advise guests that the Spa gets booked up quickly. I could not get an appointment for any time on the Saturday.
My fiancé and I got engaged in our room (232) in Muckross Park Hotel. The staff went out of their way to ensure our experience was as magical and memorable as possible. I'm slowly getting all the details from my future husband but they helped him to arrange a violinist who would play our favourite John Williams piece whilst he proposed. Whilst we dined in the Yew Tree restaurant, the staff lit candles on our balcony, put rose petals on our bed, and created the perfect setting for our engagement. My fiancé said the staff were phenomenal in every way and were also friendly and supportive. The next morning when we checked out, we were greeted with congratulations and hugs! A ten star experience, and the most wonderful day of my life so far. Thank you to every member of staff involved in making this so so special for us! We cannot wait to return to 'our' room next year on that date.
That we had to leave!
Staff - five star service Spa facilities Breakfast
Can not say did not like, just want to make a note for other travelers to check if restaurants in hotel will be open for dinner during your stay. They do also have a lovely pub with grate food, but they do close restaurant in off season.
Friendly staff.SPA facilities and an excellent choice for breakfast.
Evening meal was dissapointing ,poor menu and the Baked Alasca was just taking poetic licence too far,not even a poor realtion to the said dish.Restaurant itself is an outdated room with a huge double door half way down one side causing a draught to make it uncomfortable to be seated anywhere near it.Went to use the SPA @08:00 and told it didnt open until 10am!!You have to walk outside of hotel to get to a bar to have a drink!! Room nice enough but was expecting a bit more luxury for a five star hotel. In my opinion this hotel does not deserve a five star rating ,
Bed comfort .dinner slivered to the room staff were very friendly
The staff were excellent and so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend the spa treatments.
I changed room due to loud noise of generator and both rooms the mattress was uncomfortable. I woke up many times with a bad back. The menu was very limited for the Yew Tree restaurant. The pool was very small, there needs to be more relaxation seats in spa as at times it was very crowded.
The rooms was very well appointed and comfortable. The food in the Irish pub was excellent.
The spa looked great from the pictures but it closed at 6.45pm which was very disappointing as we had been travelling all day and would have really enjoyed it. Other Spa hotels we had stayed at this trip stayed open to 9pm so this seemed rather strange. Even if we had arrived earlier we would not have had the expected spa pass as this was apparently not included if booked via booking.com and would have been an extra 20 Euro. The location appeared on paper to be great, near to the lough in a very pretty area around killarney. However in reality the hotel was set a ways back with no views in any direction or anything. We couldn't even manage to find the lough. The only ways in seemed to be via paid entrances to places like Ross castle. Overall I don't think we would return to this area or this hotel.
We got a great rate on booking.com and Muckross Park Hotel and Spa was our favorite place we stayed on our entire trip. Every person there went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Hot towels upon check-in, bottles of water upon departure... it was refreshingly different from the other places we stayed. Highly recommend.
Lovely room, great choice of breakfast and very friendly staff!
The spa was amazing and the food was excellent. We were a little disappointed with the size of the room and also it was over the road so we only got sleep untill 6am when the passing cars became very frequent
Loved the peace and quiet .Staff excellent .100%. Could not do enough for a guest . Loved the peaceful surroundings of the gardens and water features . would definitely go there again
A little pricy . Unfortunately my room was over the kitchen and could hear a lot of comings and goings with the trolleys and did interfere with my sleep as I need same
