We were very surprised by this hotel.room very spacious and clean.staff lovely. Will definitely go back
Couldn't find fault with anything
Breakfast was nice and tasty. Couldn't fault it !
Room was cold. It was next to impossible to get water temp in shower right. Young boy nearly scalded himself trying to shower. Bar staff were in experienced. Didn't know how to prepare a hot whiskey !!
My partner and I wanted a relaxing time. And we did Paul Murphy the owner. Was very friendly as all the staff where beds very comfortable. The food was great but not to many. Choices. All and all great place
Bar is fantastic, rooms are uniquely Irish
Only stayed 1 night!
very kind staff and good location
From ariving there the staff welcomed you till the moment you left. The food is excellent couldnt find fault with any thing
We had a lovely stay. Had dinner on sat night and it was very nice. Service was excellent. Rooms spotlessly clean and we had a delicious breakfast
Rooms were very clean and comfortable with all facilities including tea and biscuits and free bottled water. Bathrooms were immaculate and everything worked. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, dinners basic but good for a small town hotel
Avoid the front rooms, the traffic noise could spoil your holiday. Paying for Wi Fi.
our two rooms were far apart paying for wifi
It was. I very nice and comfortable place to stay. The staff are very nice and easy to get on with and the food was nice.
There was no hot water in the shower or the wash hand basin the first morning of our stay.
Excellent food; helpful host; locals came there because it was the best place in town. Grocery, banks, hiking at Lake Talt all close by.
quality of breakfast needs big improvement
Relaxed atmosphere Fine family room
Breakfast was fried not grilled
Friendly staff Good quality meals Easy check in procedure
The cleanliness and friendliness of Paul and his staff was second to none. The meals for breakfast and dinner were exceptional. We could not speak more highly of this hotel.
Good value of money. Good restaurant. Excellent breakfast
Wi-Fi only for 20 minutes
Location Great breakfast Bar Comfy bed
Staff very friendly , room clean , bed comfortable Breakfast was ok
The walls a bit thin and we could hear others in room next door No fresh orange juice for breakfast , diluted orange taste like water
Breakfast was excellent, not a bother for the waitress to get you whatever you wanted, even served until 11a.m..my kids would not have been tea drinkers so the waitress served them up hot chocolate with marshmallows with breakfast at no extra charge. Evening meal was excellent and their home made chips to die for. Excellent value for money.
No entertainment in hotel or town but it was midweek, very quiet,if you want that sort of break
Enjoyed music played in the bar. Breakfast excellent
Great sized rooms, lovely breakfast, easy to park
Very smart little hotel. Great food.
Only critique is a neighbour's late night shower, the pump makes it difficult to sleep / rest.
Flexability of staff to accomadate our large group. Quality of food and the impeccable hygiene. Clearly a family run business with attention to detail in all areas. Also great value for money.
Before we came to Ireland, I contacted the Paul at Murphy's Hotel and asked if he could help us find our distant relatives. He not only found them, set up a visit with them, and went out to the old house our grandmother stayed in and took a picture of it and sent it to us. We did not know our way around so he took us to our relative's house-all we had to do was follow him in his car. When the kitchen was closed, due to a late arrival, he made us a sandwich. Having worked for two airlines, I have traveled the world and stayed in every type of accommodation I have never seen such service and effort in helping a client.
Not a lot
We have stayed at Murphy's several times in the past and was always happy with the standards. This year however we thought everything looked "tired" and could do with a make over. The cleanliness needs looking at as it only seems to be done once a day and not "on going".
