Warm place to stay. To reach it is convenient to have a car, but the location is perfect if you are looking for a rest in a calm and paceful place. In addition, as cultural interest there are the passage graves to few meters . The staff is more than friendly. I enjoyed my stay and definetly would repeat.
All was perfect.
nice family room
very comfortable ,kids enjoyed the space to walk around ,very relaxing.
No internet connection in rooms first world problem
Very helpful/friendly staff. Excellent at advising on local sites to see. Booked tickets/time for New Grange
Can hear through door and walls in room. Shower never got hot. Very basic room - but for price was great!
Most notable is that is in walking distance to Newgrange. I would stay again, but it is very local. Breakfast was good.
It isn't that I did like it, but the rooms were a little tight, hard to get around in and bare floors. Bath rooms small and barely adequate.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for sight seeing- Newgrange, Battle of the Boyne, Drogheda and Duleek are all close by. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel/hostel provide bikes free of charge and have a fridge with alcohol which can be purchased from reception.
The floors are all wooden and you can hear people coming at all hours of the night. A kitchen is available for use but it is not very clean.
Nice place, with nice public areas. Pleasant, comfortable, attractive, quiet room. Extremely helpful staff. Desk open until at least 2 or 3 a.m.
Location, location: centrally located in the Boyne Valley; close to Drogheda, Newgrange, Hill of Tara and Trim Castle. The staff is excellent, especially Teresa, whose positive outlook is terrific. The breakfast is well run by Tom and the hotel itself is decorated quaintly. Guests are encouraged to use the kitchen facilities (although some failed to clean after themselves). All in all the experience was the best small inn we had in the two weeks we were in the Republic and Northern Ireland.
Can't think of a thing we did not like. Solid 10!
Stayed here after a wedding. Found the lodge easily and enjoyed our stay. Would definetly stay again
Wasn't anything I disliked
The staff were helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. The room was really neat and comfy.
Wifi was down and the kitchen small, which is not the best when many people wants to cook at the same time.
2 rooms(1 family room) in completely opposite ends and on different floors. Party crowd woke children at 3:30 and the staff member on desk did very little to stop them. Smell of sewers outside rooms 15 to 18. Dirty.Dirty. Dirty. Stale coco pops which kids refused to eat......... just an absolutely terrible experience.
Staff here are outstanding travelled with my mother in law our rooms were originally up stairs but as my mother in law was elderly we were moved downstairs no bother while the lodge may seem to be out of the way in terms of location it was actually at the centre of everything far enough to be peaceful yet close enough to everything.
Personally I loved it maybe internet access could be stronger but lack was also a plus as people actually spoke to each other
Hand location for work
Kids not kept under control by staff
Clean comfortable rooms.
No mobile phone reception or wifi available.
The staff is extremely helpful, thanks for the advices and the friendly behaviour from the Hungarian Guy -Tamás :) It is really close to Newgrange site so easy to reach it! The room was little bit cold but they provided a heater for us (free)!
We had some insects in the room, after when we had killed them they were coming again, and then what we should recognized they are coming from under the bath tube (because of the water)! The bed was little bit rugged, and so soft! (personal thing, everybody is different)!
Great staff, good breakfast, and close to NewGrange.
We stayed for a good price, the beds were clean and comfortable
Unfortunately the ensuite could have been cleaner, soap scum in the shower soap holder, and the bathroom so small your knees were under the basin when using the toilet ! The kitchen also was a bit grubby.
Good location. Good value.
Very cold when we arrived, bathroom is very cold, tea and coffee making facilities would be nice and also a hairdryer.
Walking distance to NewGrange, Bru na Boine center. Had WiFi, although ONLY in the lounge area. Beds were comfortable enough and shower pressure was ok. Desk clerk was friendly. Could be a nice place if a little money was invested in fixing things. Breakfast was fine.
I thought I might fall through at the top of the stairs. The flooring felt VERY mushy and I honestly think there might be water damage under the rugs. I think they need to get that fixed. This is a Hostel, so anyone booking a room needs to be aware of that. The bathroom also smelled of mold.
Location. Staff arranged for us to be on first tour at Bru na Boinne. Staff kind to granddaughter traveling with us--showed her pet bunny.
Mattresses thin. Would have liked another towel.
Its Location Its Staff The breakfast Overall friendliness
No hot water for a shower in the morning which was very annoying. Wooden floors throughout the ground floor so you can hear every step of people coming and going throughout the night. Very little sleep!
Poor facilities. Tired decor. Plastic flowers in window boxes
