The location was very convenient, across from Connelly station, a taxi stand, and on a main bus line. The hotel was nicely appointed, and the room was clean, quiet, and furnished with modern conveniences. Although they used luxury materials in construction of the hotel, the workmanship was shoddy (loose tiles in the bathroom, the floors creaked and were very unlevel, etc.) Also, we requested a room on a non-smoking floor, and were told we were in one, yet the rooms on both sides of us had smokers in them, which carried the smoke through the shared A/C vents.

I can't praise this hotel highly enough. All staff were incredible, so helpful and polite. Only 10 mins stroll to all tourist attractions. Room was beautiful, spotless, balcony nice addition. Food was lovely, would be back in a heartbeat!! Nothing! If I had to pick one thing, I would say put bathrobes in premier rooms!!!

Multi-lingual staff was helpful. Room had powerful hairdyer, and ok tea making facilities. Hotel was old and had unusual layout, making it tricky to find an elevator and the way out. Elevator doesn´t stop at the reception, so prepare to carry your luggage to the next floor. Airport shuttle doesn´t start running before 5.10 am. Trains running on the tracks next to the hotel may disturb those having difficulties with sleeping.

Staff were very friendly. New décor is really lovely. The premium suite bedroom is very comfortable. There was an annoying noise from dawn , like a compressor in the room.

The beds were very comfortable, the climate control system was strong and reliable and the room was generally very clean, including the bathroom. When we left, we had a flight at 6am, so we had to wake up at 3 to leave by 4. The staff were able to give us a wake-up call at 3, and the night before they made sure a taxi would be outside at 4am, which was great. The location was not necessarily ideal, but it was not bad, as it was less than 2 minute's walk from the nearest Luas (tram) station, and less than 5 minute's walk from the next closest Luas station, which had more frequent trains. We just ended up walking most of the time, you could get to O'Connell street in less than 15 minutes. We stayed here because we chose to leave another lodging accommodation because it didn't really meet our needs. I made a reservation about a half hour before arriving at North Star. We arrived, and they couldn't find our reservation. I would have looked for the email on my iPhone, but their wifi wasn't free. They gave me a slip for 20 minutes of wifi for free just for this purpose, but it didn't seem to work. They then had to get the concierge's personal iPad out to look for the reservation on there. That worked, but by the time I had figured it out, their manager had printed my reservation and it was at the front desk. We got to the room and began planning our afternoon, suddenly my internet had stopped working and it was only then that I realized the wifi wasn't free. Not only was it not free, but it was expensive. 3 euros for 20 minutes! And it was something like 7 euros for an hour and 15 for 24 hours. That is outrageous. The place also didn't have breakfast included with all reservations, only some. I personally think all hotels should have at least some minimal continental breakfast included.

Room was clean, comfortable and newly remodeled. I stayed in one of the premier rooms. Hotel overall was very nice and the restaurant/bar connected to it was great. Staff was attentive, helpful and pleasant. Location was not the best. I set out on foot to see the city and bars at night so it was not as close to the main streets of interest as I would have liked. But hence the price reflected this so I would have paid much more to be closer to the center. Also the noise of the train across the street was a bit bothersome. On my last night the guests next to my room were talking loud all night and smoking which filled my room with smoke so that I didn't sleep that night. The internet service was expensive and so slow I could barely use it, although you could get a free hour while dining in the bar.

Location was fabulous, just across the street from Connolly Station and around the corner from the Airlink 747 bus's Talbot St drop-off. Room had been recently redone & refurbished. Bed was very comfortable, room pristine. We had room at the back so experienced no road or train noise at all. Food at restaurant was very good & staff very accommodating. Older hotel with some stairs to climb in order to reach elevators.

The staff are wonderful, I have never stayed in a hotel before that every single member of staff without exception was so friendly and helpful. They are a credit to the hotel and I will definately be returning because of this. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, comfortable and spotlessly clean. I can't compliment the place enough. I have already recommended it to several people.

Great staff- very helpful! Excellent breakfast Good location Very nicely appointed rooms The hotel has obviously been remodeled since 2009, when there was a slew of bad reviews. The North Star I styled in resembled nothing like I read in those reviews! I would definitely stay here again. The tram runs right next to the hotel! I guess there is no way this can be fixed, lrhough keeping the windows closed definitely helps.

Room was newly decorated and very clean and comfortable. The location is great -- across from the train station and just a couple of blocks from Busarus (bus station). Though the hotel is situated across from Connolly Station I did not find the trains distracting at all. Staff are always helpful and friendly. This was my 5th stay at the hotel -- I especially like the shuttle service to and from Dublin airport. The only downside is there is no elevator/lift from the lobby/check-in to the first floor. From the first floor there are lifts to the other floors. However, the concierge always carries my heavy bags up the stairs.

North Star was a wonderful hotel! We found the location to be perfect - across the street from the Luas, near the shuttle to/from the airport, and a close walk to downtown. The hotel staff was extremely kind and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Dublin! Wi-fi was additional charge
