This deluxe city-centre hotel is located opposite the Irish Financial Services Centre (IFSC), Connolly Railway station and Luas tram. The central bus station (Busarus) is around the corner.

The hotel is a short walk from Temple Bar, O’Connell Street, Trinity College and shopping districts including Henry Street and Grafton Street. For all Rugby, GAA sports fans and concert-goers, the North Star Hotel is 10 minutes from Croke Park Stadium.

Hotel information

This comfortable and friendly hotel originally built in the early 19th century is immortalised in James Joyce’s masterpiece, ‘Ulysses’. Standard rooms are in the original Georgian building, while the contemporary modern block at the back of the hotel contains Executive rooms, Premier Club rooms and Suites. The same block is also home to conference facilities, a business centre and the exclusive 7th floor Premier Club Hospitality Lounge with spectacular view of Dublin city’s skyline.

Food & beverage

The North Star Hotel has a tradition for personal service, excellent cuisine and comfort. The award-winning Bianconi Restaurant offers fine cuisine. Bianconi is proud of its international and Irish food and friendly and professional staff.

McCoy's is the hotel's traditionally styled Irish bar and has a great atmosphere, a bar menu and some traditional beers. The beer garden was added with the smoker in mind, and is covered, fully heated and features plasma screens showing the latest sport.

Dublin, with its Georgian elegance, its medieval bustle and its 20th century buzz offers something for all visitors. Just the location

I was woken by the train as the rail tracks were next to my window, the building was also vibrating very time the train went by especially the reception area and the train went by about every 20 minutes or there about. There was hairs all over the room, the funitures were dusty, there was literally no decent channelson the television, not even CNN or Sky news, extremely poor

Noise from traffic and trains. Pictures on site is from the Premier Club Suites, not from the standard rooms available to book.

Not really, too much trouble over the television not working, it took an hour to be moved to a different room, and personally thought it was a little expensive

Romm was well equiped and to a good standard. The range of movies available was excellent. There is a convience sop just next to the hotel which is handy for buying water & snaks etc.

I was given a room at the front of the hotel so the noise from the trains (Connolly Station is just across the road from the hotel) work me early next morning. Food in the restaraunt was just average. My starter which was supposed to be fish goujons were the worst food I have tasted in a long time. Main course steak was fine but veg overcooked.

The hotel is too close to the train line and train station, trains were passing outside our window through the night making this difficult to sleep. Also your website stated I would pay for 2 nights and have the third free, the third night was charged for on my receipt.

Really well placed for access to trains, Dart and city centre. Pleasant, newly refurbished rooms, very comfortable. Excellent breakfast! Plenty of character in the hotel and McCoys bar !!

the hotel was located near main shopping streets and within walking distance from most of the tourist sites. new and well maintained bathrooms.

the hotel is located right next to train railways - you can hear the train in the room.

A very nice hotel located perfect in central of Dublin near to the train and the pubs !

Sometimes little bit noisy because of the train crossing outside the hotel
