Beautifully decorated hotel and food and drink great value for money, blonde girl on front dest was extremely helpful and happy to help, shame about other staff
Dark haired lady in a suit on front desk... Service with a smile wouldn't go a miss! Found her almost quite rude. Bar staff made you feel asif they were to busy to want to serve, and don't even dare ask for a drink that takes more efforf than needed! Shame really as hotel is lovely!
Comfiest bed we had on our trip! It was hard to get out of it!
There was no music in the gym and the sauna wasn't hot enough.
Very good room in good location. Restaurant served lovely food, friendly staff. Good breakfast.
The North Star was a nice place to stay. It was a bit costly for the area as it can be dangerous at night. The staff were lovely and the food was good
A bit pricey. I felt the area around the hotel could be dangerous to walk alone at night. Not the hotels fault but costly for the location
I was upgraded to a suite when I arrived. What a lovely surprise so a great stay!!!
Best place I've ever stayed amazing rooms amazing staff excellent
Felt it was a little expensive for what you got
The style of the rooms and things were expensive as usual photo look nothing like the room we were in
Poor location, right across the street from the train station. Dirty surroundings. Many "types" hanging around.
Location was close to Connolly Station
Hotel is not maintained. The bathroom had broken tiles, no handle to operate the shower (just a threaded bolt) and the shower head was not adjustable to accomodate anyone over average height. There was also mildew in the grout on the walls. The rooms were poorly soundproofed and each door slammed shut, making for a noisy stay. In addition, the wifi signal is poor and the tv picture was awful on our 20" CRT set. When we asked the front desk staff to change rooms the response was a curt "we're fully booked". We eventually got a new room which was in the same condition as the first. Hotel staff moved our bags to the new room, but the front desk clerk was not aware of this and told us he didn't know where our bags were. Further, halfway through our stay, our keycards became deactivated for no apparent reason. This was by far the worst hotel of the 5 we stayed at in Ireland (including one other in Dublin). The poor service from staff and general lack of maintenance, cleanliness and modern ammenities makes it boggling to us that this hotel has four stars.
Nice size rooms, restaurant, bar, outdoor beer garden
The air-conditioning didn't work well and rooms need small fridge in them.
Bed and room terrific. Location perfect. Didn't have breakfast but bar was good in the evening.
Staff were really friendly and food was excellent!
Luckily after we complaint, very polite member of hotel staff named Daniel came, apologised and took us to a beautiful room at 6th floor, with nice view and terace. It looked just like rooms from promo materials of the North Star Hotel. Dublin was fun, Irish people friendly and Irish landscape is amazing! We enjoyed our stay in Ireland!!! BTW, it was our Honeymoon :)))
Warning - stay away from rooms in the 1st (actually ground) floor - we were assigned room nr 167 - it was dangerous to open the window (with jail bars;) and it was dusty and dirty because in front of our window was chimney from restaurant and vent from laundry in the basement! It smells badly and it was dusty, extremly unhealthy! We complained to reception of course and had some problems to explain what is wrong, but when we invited receptionist to come and stay in this room for a while he immediately agreed to change our room:))
Within walking distance to town
Room cramped for a family room, WiFi didn't reach into the room, A/C did not get the room cold, poor hair dryer, not sure where the new part is form the name "New" North Star.
Excellent modern bar, rooms very tidy too.
Food and drink is expensive but this is a feature throughout Dublin
Great location right next to the rail station to be able to take the tram and the light rail. Large, clean, modern room and very helpful front desk staff. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Easy access to public transport, town centre close on foot.
People hanging around the train station at night.
The staff were so helpful, professional and courteous. When we were checking in we also got upgraded to a premium level room which was a lovely addition to our stay. The room's decor and comfort was fabulous with a lovely view of the city.
Location Noisy room. At back of hotel right on road and walkway.
Our rooms looked just like the pictures shown online. This hotel actually had A/C. Bed was very comfortable.
If you don't go ahead and include your breakfast with your stay it is quite pricey. There is a good café for breakfast around the corner called the Ripley Court.
The staff were very accomodating and tried to make sure our group were happy. Zoe the restaurant manager sttod out as an absolute star in ensuring our large group were well catered for (even when the kitchens were officially closed) what a lovely (and gorgeous!) girl.
Room was very warm and I had to go to booking .com to get the best rate despite already having 6 rooms in the hotel.
Central location,good bar food.staff courteous.
Did not get room I booked, had no aircon, had to ask twice for inefficient fan, room decor not reflected in pics on web, less modern, primary reason for booking was images.
Accomadation and staff
Very clean, the family room had two rooms which was very nice for the four of us.
