Score from 3979 reviews Good
Good location and lovely reception. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good enough, though no home made soda bread. The staff let us keep our bags there until the train and were very friendly.
Although it's across from the station the track is above/next door to some of the rooms, I had to wear ear plugs to avoid the noise. Also, the bathroom wasn't great, wobbly toilet and toilet seat, poor shower and drainage. Annoying things, but overall ok.
The warmness n decor of the hotel was my first impression. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable. It had plenty of everything.
Pillows were a bit hard. Food and drink expensive but saying this it is in almost everyone part of the city.
I travelled to Dublin with my sister, mother and sister in law and we had our 4 bed room upgraded to a suite! So we had a lovely big room. Staff were fantastic, the hotel was clean and wifi was very fast connection.
Located right outside train station, helpful and friendly staff, comfort and cleanliness of room
Asked for twin beds and got a double but the staff separated the beds for us, however no compensation was offered.
I've reviewed this hotel several times because of staying on the nights before and after my twice-yearly visits to the U.S. for the past few years. Rooms are large and beds are always comfortable, bathroom clean and I can enjoy a long tub-soak after a long flight. The location, while not exactly city centre, is still good -- very near to Busaras and just across from Connolly Station. I've never experienced anything but courtesy and professionalism from the staff. There is an airport shuttle that runs several times per day. I've recommended this hotel to friends from the U.S. because I like it so well.
Customer service was exceptional
Room could use some updating,
Given no details of parking, breakfast bar or restaurant details, WiFi details, very poor front desk, ask for a good room when booked got a basic room with no view, also directions were awful
big room, big comfortable bed, cleanness, helpful staff
average location - close to train station (just in front of the hotel - handy but some train noises), not far from spire but 10min though an average area to reach better parts of the city; wifi limited to 200 connections so when hotel is full expect to get no wifi :/
The food was good and it was easy to get to the centre of town Plus the dart was across the road
Everything u need is in the hotel and
I've stayed here twice now & plan to return in January. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Really love the decor in hotel, i relax the minute i step inside, beds are very comfy too. Lyndsey Tipperary
Fantastic Hotel, decorated and furnished to a very high level. On arrival the check-in staff upgraded my room free of charge. The room was superb and the bathroom was lovely. Lovey bar & restaurant area, and the food was excellent. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Professional and clean and very nice furniture!
Free wifi, good location, exellent restaurant, friendly staff, safe
No fridge, dated decor but if you like vintage it's nice..
I've stayed at this hotel many times - I use this hotel before and after flights to and from the US to visit family. I like the airport shuttle and convenience to Busaras.
Big beds and in an excellent location
The hotel is not 4 star quality. Towels were extremely small, no refreshments in the room and wifi has to be paid for. Food in restaurant was very poor, local pub was better. Car was hit by hotel staff and they still requested the money for the parking.
Friendly and very helpful staff, lovely, very good value meals in the restaurant.
Arriving at our room for our door cards not to work and having to get them reprogrammed a few times while there for only four days.
good location in Dublin nice bar good breakfast (cooked) comfortable beds Close/easy to get to airport
smokey room on arrival pricey (but probably not for Dublin)
Close proximity to city centre Close to Luas line Excellent breakfast. Blackout curtains
Trains closeby and related noise but only in early morning not right through the night so not too disturbing.
I have stayed in The North Star hotel a few times now and every time I have, I have loved it! It is in the best location, central station is across the road therefore across from all available transport. Tram is so easy & cheap to use! The rooms are lovely and always so clean! The staff within the bar & restaurant where so kind & reception where very helpful on our recent visit. (24th oct 2014). The wifi is also great! I had stayed here before with friends and this time brought my partner and he loved it also! Stayed in premier club room this time around and thought the complementary breakfast in the premier club lounge was great! One of my favourite hotels and I will continue to visit!
The only small negative is each time I have visited I have always been very warm during the night but air con is provided so can only blame myself for this.
Comfortable bed clean room excellent food
Bar closed early in hotel, balcony had row of flags missing poor choice on TV channels
arrived at 10am but couldn't check in until 2pm the young lady on the reception Took our luggage and securely stored it for us whilst we went to check out the town. We came back to the hotel at around 1pm where the room was ready and they let us have it early. Room was very nice and comfortable. Great value for money. Nice bottle of prosecco as requested waiting in my room as requested
Some noise from the train station across the way but nothing that I couldn't sleep through.
Had to leave
No lift to first floor with much luggage
everything, this is about the 4th or 5th time I have stayed at this hotel, I have never been disappointed with any of the rooms I have stayed in, nor with the staff. The breakfast is excellent and so are the meals in the adjoining restaurant.
I had to come home, would have loved to stay a few more days x
