Clean comfortable hotel, good location
I booked this hotel for my parents and paid over the phone in advance to avoid them dealing with the bill. However, the morning after they checked in, I received a call from the hotel asking me if I intended to check in. I said that my parents had checked in and if there was a problem. They replied that there wasn't but that I should ask my parents to make themselves known to reception. As they were out for the day I didn't see it fit to disturb them and ask them to return to the hotel. After 3 or 4 confusing phonecalls I was told that there had been a mix-up and was given an explanation of what happened in hotel jargon (they kept mentioning the 'reg book' without explaining what it actually was).
The room was quite functional and tidy, everything was cleaned and well-maintained. As it is near the station, one might be bothered by the passing trains; we weren't at all.
room and food
.Staff were nice. .Food in the bar was good .Rooms were clean
.Room size was misleading from the ones advertised which was disappointing. we were on the ground floor and there were bars outside the windows. it was fairly pokey room & small bathroom. Considering the price we paid we thought it was bad value. .No sky sports in the bar .No baby changing facilities throughout the hotel
Close proximity to Dublin Centre Affordable Good breakfast Nicely finished room
Trains started very early outside of our room, impossible to sleep. Our room was not level, literally not level. Things would roll of tables etc.
Friendly Staff Great Location Price Cleanliness Comfort Free WiFi Complimentary Room Upgrade! Complimentary use of Residents Lounge! Great Food
Nothing! Everything was great
When we got the hotel we didn't have any sleep due to travelling, the receptionists let us check in hours before so we could get some rest. This was very much appreciated and there was good customer service throughout our stay.
Everything was to a very High standard, staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar was very clean and food was excellent
Just enjoyed a fantastic couple of days in Dublin celebrating New Year. The hotel was perfect in a great location just a 10/15 minute walk to the heart of everything i.e The Temple Bar & Grafton street. The hotel itself was great very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. They also supply a free shuttle bus to take you to and from the airport, overall the whole trip was fantastic and would recommend the whole experience to anyone.
We love this hotel and we got a free upgrade .
Nothing can't fault
Great breakfast , parking was a little complicated, but I would stay again
I was so impressed with this newly refurbished hotel from the moment that I arrived. Its a four star hotel like no other I have stayed in. The hotel is run by a dedicated team of Irish and European staff who really DO work hard to make sure that visitors are taken care of. On arrival I was delighted to be welcomed by a smart man on the front desk who checked me in quickly and who was friendly and informative. He was also sympathetic to some bad news I had of a friend prior to setting off. That's showed me that he cared. The room I stayed in was absolutely beautiful and so too is the décor though out the building. Service in the restaurant was lovely and I enjoyed myself. When there was an issue with an electronic card not working correctly an experienced lady named Claire took control and solved the problem. It was good share a few things with her which is part of fun of travelling to new places. Security at night is good and guests can feel reassured.
There was absolutely nothing about the hotel that I did not like. It was fabulous. My only concern was the behaviour of a pair young couples from England and there disrespect for others in the residents lounge on the morning of my departure. Sadly they used foul language after a few drinks and after they had finished the table was covered with beer bottles. PLEASE visitors respect this place and be inconsiderate and well behaved in this special place.
A good location and nice spacious room
Extremely handy location, right beside train station and close to venue which was purpose of our visit.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.....beautiful food......overall a very pleasant and enjoyable stay
I liked how convenient it was to the centre of Dublin, lovely restaurant and friendly bar staff.
Too many homeless people hanging around hotel so felt unsafe going out late evening.
Good location, nice view from the room on 6th floor.
The gym was too small and the staff didn't tell us that the sauna had to be turned on half an hour before using it! The service in the restaurant was a bit slow, took a half an hour to get our meal at a quiet time in the restaurant.
food, bedroom, staff so near the railway station
there was nothing i didn't like about the North Star Hotel
Excellent location, very clean, staff very friendly
everything from the moment we entered the hotel
There were some communication issues between booking.com and the hotel. We had booked a superior room with balcony and were allocated a standard room. I had to contact reception and they said this was not on the booking from booking.com. They were able to move us so the issue was resolved but I thought this should be raised. Also we had paid extra for breakfast but each morning when we went for breakfast we were told there was no booking for breakfast with our room, there was no extra charge at the end but again there seems to be a communication problem.
The room, the food at the bar. The staff were nice. And the room was definitely value for money..
The parking which was organised chaos, no Heineken, Budweiser or Carlsberg on tap or available in bottles. The hotel was also too warm I thought
The staff were excellent both at reception and in bar.Food was great great choice of menu .
Toilet didn't flush.Cleaning staff were outside our room hoovering before nine in the morning.window in room didn't close properly. It was anon smoking room other guest didn't abide by this we could smell the smoke in the hall way
Hotel room was excellent, also got a free upgraded room.
There was a strange smell in the corridor but nothing to worrying
Shower was very poor, water was either boiling or very cold, no medium, could be very dangerous for children, only fault with this hotel.
