Within 10 minutes of the hotel, you will find Bunratty village, castle and Folk Park, Knappogue Castle, Dromoland and Mooghaun Hill fort, and Craggaunowen. There is also Quin village, with its 15th century abbey, and Cratloe Woods.
Within one hour of the hotel, you will find the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin (with seasonal ferry to the Aran Islands) and the Burren National Park. Beaches such as Lahinch, Fanore and Quilty, Loop Head peninsula and Lough Derg are also nearby.

When we arrived we were met by a very pleasant member of staff. We stayed there prior to flying to the US and were worried about the road conditions early in the morning getting to Shannon Airport. Would totally recommend this hotel for this purpose. Car can be left in the carpark for the duration of your holiday and taxi to airport costs 8 euro. complete value for money |

SOME OF THE BAR STAFF WERE HELPFUL AND QUICK OFF THE MARK IN RECOGNISING CUSTOMER ATTENTION Carpet is worn out along the corridors. I had to move the furniture (chest of drawers) as they were placed in front of the radiator stopping the heat getting into the room. The following morning I dropped my watch between the side locker and bed. When I pushed the bed back(very easy to do) I was disgusted to find finger nail and looked to me like toe nail clippings on the floor under the bed. For my stay there I believe that the room was probably not hoovered during my stay. Bathroom in my room was of a poor standard. The b/room room toilet holder needs replacing as it is broken, twisting it around to a vertical position to hold the roll doesn't work. It actually creates a very dangerous personal risk if somebody slips.The rad v/bad rusted |

very courteous and friendly staff and the hotel had a beautiful timber effect throughout which gave it charm and i would highly recommend the restaurant and bar staff for their friendlyness and effiency with being able to serve a nice meal even though we only arrived 5 minutes before restaurant closed.. Well done and thanks again |

Excellent hotel - great sized rooms with top facilities. Staff were extremely helpful especially the reception staff the night we booked in despite the fact that the hotel was very busy due to a huge function being held in the hotel. Could not fault this hotel & would recommend to anybody travelling in the Shannon area. |

Arrived from Stansted to Shannon flight to visit Family in Shannon, collected car at airport drove to Hotel (recommended by my Brother - he and family stayed a short time ago) visited my cousin who has been very ill ,lives five minutes from the Oakwood arms - perfect everything and the Breakfast was superb - ten stars for everything - thankyou |

The level of service and including a hot buffett breakfast that was actually hot. Its location being close to differing attractions so you didn't spend all day in a car. The lack of information on the hotel services ie where was the breakfast room and the timings of service although staff were more than helpful a booklet in the room would have helped |

It is within a 5 minute drive to Shannon airport, but far enough away to not be bothered by air traffic. Hotel is charming and suited for a base for exploring Co. Clare. We used it for our last night in Ireland, but I would consider a longer stay next trip. Wasn't nutsy about the breakfast, but glad to have been served in time to catch our flight. Also, we complained about our toilet, which the staff wasn't able to fix. So I'm not sure if it's just the toilet in #216 or all of them. |
