The Oakwood Arms hotel has a great location, in the heart of Shannon’s town centre, next to the Skycourt shopping centre and only 5 minutes’ drive from the airport. The hotel makes an excellent base from which to explore all that the west of Ireland has to offer. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park are just a 15-minute drive away, while Ennis and Limerick are 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel and are also served by a frequent bus service. Free parking is available for guests. The interior of the hotel boasts exposed oak beams, open fireplaces and soft lighting. All of the rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished with shower/baths, flat-screen TVs (with on-demand movies), voicemail telephones, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities. There is an excellent choice of food in both the bar and restaurant. Sophie’s Lounge offers a daily carvery and a varied evening bar menu. I loved the huge family room that we stayed in which could sleep up to 5 people. There was tea/coffee facilities in our bedroom which was most welcome after returning late from a wedding reception. There was plenty of clean, fresh towels in the bathroom as well as soaps and shampoo'S. Breakfast was served until 11.00 on Sunday morning which was good because we would have missed it if it finished earlier.

The supper was wonderful. Decor is beautiful, nice large room Hole above bed, musty smell in bathroom, confusing to find the room from the front desk, bedroom too far from front desk, do not like to pay for internet access.

The staff where really helpful, It's worth calling and checking the websitein advance as we received an upgrade to a suite because we spotted the offer on the website and asked, breakfast was plentiful buffet service, if you need a taxi ask reception to call Bona bus, he is really knowledgeable and costs less than an airport taxi, he also has 8 seats for larger parties. Nothing at all but there is nothing much in Shannon to visit

Close to the wedding we attended. Our room was cold. Needed the booster put on and even then it wasn't that warm. Booked a smoking room but it was on the second floor with no elevator. There wasm a lack fo full eating facilities. Were told that it was because of the Christmas holidays. Would think that this would be when you have full facilities.

Nice hotel was there with family for my brothers wedding rooms were big and clean and the hotel was a lot bigger and nicer than we thought from the photos. The only thing we did not like was the breakfast was cold when we got it other wise everything else was fine.

Great location very close to the town. Perfect if you are visiting friends in Shannon or flying from Shannon airport.. The room was comfortable and clean. We did not enjoy the breakfast. We did not go down to breakfast until 9.30 and by that time the food which was buffet was dried out.

Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Convenience to Shannon Airport and ability to leave our car while on overseas trip is wonderful (we are currently in usa). Early morning breakfast great service too.

We travelled to the area fron the uk for a family wedding at the hotel and had a great stay and fabulous wedding we would definitely stay again on another visit to the area

I can not recommend the breakfast buffet (I have the notion that the fruitsalad was served beyond the expiry date!) - got terribly sick and was confined to my room the next night!

The hotel was centrally located. Price was fabulous - EUR 109 for B&B for a family of 5 - couldn't get better. Evening meal in bar was brilliant. Huge portions. Young local group playing irish music in bar was added bonus. Not too loud and very enjoyable.
