Loved the owner, super helpful and motivated by his business. Loved the relaxed style, help yourself kitchen. Loved the location, a hop from ranelagh village with all it's great restaurants and also a hop into city centre. Safe and warm.
Good price for what you get, staff is very kind and easy going. Got acces to all basic needs. Feels more like a nice open house then a hotel.
I liked the rooom. We had an extra bed and didn't even ask for it. The shower was all right. The kitchen had all the basic stuff you'll need. There's coffee, tea, bread, milk, cereal etc on the house. The bus stop is right on front of the house. €2.55 for a trip to the city centre.
The only downside was the front door. They gave us a code to open the door when we are coming in. However, the door was broken so we had to knock everytime we arrive.
Very friendly place, no hassle, straight forward attitude, competitive price.
Weather, but that's not their fault...
The lodge is not far from the city centre (bus stop just across the road). Owner and his family very friendly and correct. I felt that I was at home. Very clean place.
The staff make the location great, also the unlimited amount of breakfast which is rare for such an accommodation. number 11 stops right outside door. very welcoming of international travellers.
wished the buses were more regular!!
Paddy's house is not in the city centre but in a really nice suburbian part of the city, if this is what you are looking for just like I did you would like it. The house has a really good potential, it's cozy and nice, running hot water with perfect pressure was a big plus and the free breakfast with orange juice (!!) is lovely too. The owner let me check out late as nobody arrived in our room that day, thanks for that.
Though the house is nice and has a lot of potential and some lovely details - like the piano at the entrance and the big table and stove in the kitchen - all in all it should be totally redesigned and put some more energy and creativity in it, fake flowers probably the worst thing that can happen with a place and Paddy's house has a lot. Also check in could be a little more informative and maybe the biggest negative point was the size of the double bed...a 130 cm wide bed is a bit too 'cozy' especially if you travell with a friend, just like I did..
Large room, friendly staff, quiet room
Not very close to center Bathroom had a really bad smell
It is realy ideal place and location in the nice area of Dublin with the link of motorway and the city centre. Staff is really helpful and give right guidance to the guests.
There is nothing tgat I can say I don't like. Ideally this is really nice place with right location.
location, Paddy's helpful directions, He let us use his guitar.
there was a leak in the ceiling when it rained hard
Excellent location and great value for money. Not the Four Seasons but free parking and good host!
Bus stop outside the front door, free tea and coffee making facilities, great staff.
Wi-fi was abysmal, frequently down and I had zero access from my room.
The bed was comfortable
No towels at all, internet poor, the reception was quick and not friendly, room's noisy
Location. Cleanness of the room. Clean and comfortable bed.
Unavailability of the staff - had to wait for more than 15 minutes just to enter the building. No towel by default - had to ask for one! Only one toilet for all 10+ rooms! Central heating not woking - had to switch on a complimentary electric radiator. Useless WiFi because of weak signal in the room.
The city centre was easy to access by bus services The airport could be reached easily by "Aircoach" from nearby Donnybrook Paddy the host was friendly and helpful, when he was around Accomodation was inexpensive, but compared to quality, not so cheap
Tiny, shabby room Extremely narrow, unclean shower cabin Central heating did'nt work - I received a mobile heater after my 1st day there Shaving lamp above the mirror didn't work and couldn't be fixed There was no WIFI coverage in my room or anywhere else except in the kitchen/dining room No soap was provided Unclean, untidy kitchen Noone was available at the site on Monday morning to fix problems My conclusion is: if all that you want is a cheap place to sleep, it's acceptable, but many youth hostels provide better accommodation for less money
It's a place very warm and homey.
good mix of people
no towels in bedroom
Quality service. Really nice people. Good value for your money.
The stove! The owner.
fine on all levels
wifi a bit dodgy
Paddy is a very nice and helpful person. We booked a double room when in fact we needed a twin room, Paddy still managed to provide an extra bed for us making our stay even better!
Staff very helpful and friendly. On my own as a woman and felt safe in this establishment. Made tea for myself in the morning and kitchen spotless
We were delighted with our stay at Paddys House. It was everything we needed and more - the owners were lovely and very helpful in offering advice for our trip, and the room and facilities suited us perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dublin!!
