Not great value for money
In general it was fine

It's about twenty minutes' bus from city center, which was a challenge when crunched for time and relying on public transport. Thankfully, Paddy has a bus stop right out front and makes sure to fill you in on directions and advice on getting around more easily.
Paddy regaled us joyfully with local knowledge and also factoids he's learned about other places and languages. His enthusiasm was contagious and lovely.

nothing bad abut this place.
paddy house is located at 10-15 min.from city center by bus 11 which stops just in front of.there are more buses and aircoach to airport at 5 minutes walk from this place.paddy is very funny and makes you feel right at home.conofrtable.warm ,clean and welcoming.

No bin in room; no shower gel; no hairdryer; extra bed linen was dirty.
April 25, 2015
no Tv in room, very small shower in the room, quite noisy, had to go downstairs to toilet shared with others. Lamp in room didnt work and although I asked for it to replaced no one did. Room very cold, heating not on.
Access to kitchen 24 hours, close to RDS for the rugby. Good access to city of Dublin

Paddy is an amazing host, funny and helpful, thanks a lot!

The owner's family is totally cool, helpful and friendly :-) I felt like being at my family. Location in a great area with bars and restaurants in walking distance .. otherwise bus right opposite of the Paddy's house going to the city centre

Ask for a room at the back of the house, the street can be a bit noisy, there are extra windows (like a sound barrier) but they don't close that well, which was a pity.
Paddy himself was very friendly and a bit of a goofy host. Room was clean and ok. free use of the kitchen and you can have coffee, tea or toast whenever you like. For this budget, there probably won't be any better in the environment of Dublin. Liked the free parking as well.

booked a parking spot but there was none and no-one to available to even ask. Luckily we had to be going before 7am so didnt have to run down the block to feed a meter.
Safe, clean white sheets, use of a kitchen, more like an independent hostel with your own private room and bathroom ensuite. Would stay here again but would not count on a parking spot even IF reserved in advance. Get your key and you are on your own unless someone happens to be there to answer a question, but dont count on it- however, for the price, which is very good value, you couldnt really expect more than that.

Loved the owner, super helpful and motivated by his business. Loved the relaxed style, help yourself kitchen. Loved the location, a hop from ranelagh village with all it's great restaurants and also a hop into city centre. Safe and warm.

Good price for what you get, staff is very kind and easy going. Got acces to all basic needs. Feels more like a nice open house then a hotel.

The only downside was the front door. They gave us a code to open the door when we are coming in. However, the door was broken so we had to knock everytime we arrive.
I liked the rooom. We had an extra bed and didn't even ask for it. The shower was all right. The kitchen had all the basic stuff you'll need. There's coffee, tea, bread, milk, cereal etc on the house. The bus stop is right on front of the house. €2.55 for a trip to the city centre.

Weather, but that's not their fault...
Very friendly place, no hassle, straight forward attitude, competitive price.

The lodge is not far from the city centre (bus stop just across the road). Owner and his family very friendly and correct. I felt that I was at home. Very clean place.

wished the buses were more regular!!
The staff make the location great, also the unlimited amount of breakfast which is rare for such an accommodation. number 11 stops right outside door. very welcoming of international travellers.

Though the house is nice and has a lot of potential and some lovely details - like the piano at the entrance and the big table and stove in the kitchen - all in all it should be totally redesigned and put some more energy and creativity in it, fake flowers probably the worst thing that can happen with a place and Paddy's house has a lot. Also check in could be a little more informative and maybe the biggest negative point was the size of the double bed...a 130 cm wide bed is a bit too 'cozy' especially if you travell with a friend, just like I did..
Paddy's house is not in the city centre but in a really nice suburbian part of the city, if this is what you are looking for just like I did you would like it. The house has a really good potential, it's cozy and nice, running hot water with perfect pressure was a big plus and the free breakfast with orange juice (!!) is lovely too. The owner let me check out late as nobody arrived in our room that day, thanks for that.

Excellent location and great value for money. Not the Four Seasons but free parking and good host!
December 17, 2014
Bus stop outside the front door, free tea and coffee making facilities, great staff.
December 11, 2014
Wi-fi was abysmal, frequently down and I had zero access from my room.
December 10, 2014
No towels at all, internet poor, the reception was quick and not friendly, room's noisy
The bed was comfortable
December 1, 2014
Unavailability of the staff - had to wait for more than 15 minutes just to enter the building. No towel by default - had to ask for one! Only one toilet for all 10+ rooms! Central heating not woking - had to switch on a complimentary electric radiator. Useless WiFi because of weak signal in the room.
Location. Cleanness of the room. Clean and comfortable bed.
