Bus stop outside the front door, free tea and coffee making facilities, great staff.
Wi-fi was abysmal, frequently down and I had zero access from my room.
The bed was comfortable
No towels at all, internet poor, the reception was quick and not friendly, room's noisy
Location. Cleanness of the room. Clean and comfortable bed.
Unavailability of the staff - had to wait for more than 15 minutes just to enter the building. No towel by default - had to ask for one! Only one toilet for all 10+ rooms! Central heating not woking - had to switch on a complimentary electric radiator. Useless WiFi because of weak signal in the room.
The city centre was easy to access by bus services The airport could be reached easily by "Aircoach" from nearby Donnybrook Paddy the host was friendly and helpful, when he was around Accomodation was inexpensive, but compared to quality, not so cheap
Tiny, shabby room Extremely narrow, unclean shower cabin Central heating did'nt work - I received a mobile heater after my 1st day there Shaving lamp above the mirror didn't work and couldn't be fixed There was no WIFI coverage in my room or anywhere else except in the kitchen/dining room No soap was provided Unclean, untidy kitchen Noone was available at the site on Monday morning to fix problems My conclusion is: if all that you want is a cheap place to sleep, it's acceptable, but many youth hostels provide better accommodation for less money
It's a place very warm and homey.
good mix of people
no towels in bedroom
Quality service. Really nice people. Good value for your money.
The stove! The owner.
fine on all levels
wifi a bit dodgy
Paddy is a very nice and helpful person. We booked a double room when in fact we needed a twin room, Paddy still managed to provide an extra bed for us making our stay even better!
Staff very helpful and friendly. On my own as a woman and felt safe in this establishment. Made tea for myself in the morning and kitchen spotless
We were delighted with our stay at Paddys House. It was everything we needed and more - the owners were lovely and very helpful in offering advice for our trip, and the room and facilities suited us perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dublin!!
Inexpensive, clean, friendly, flexible breakfast and good self catering facilities
Great helpful staff. Great location. It's possible to take the bus 11 from the stop located in front of the Paddy's House. I felt like home during my stay. But if you are looking for luxury you might not be satisfied.
Wi fi connection is poor in the rooms on the top floor.
Super Location with bus on door step, easy walk into Ranelagh for Luas & Rathmines for pubs & restuarants. Clean & Comfortable room, simple breakfast was included which was a bonus.
Just one small gripe was that there was no bedside lamp or socket if you are a bedtime reader like myself :-)
Friendly staff helped us get a taxi out to the airport. Room was adequate as we were only there for a few hours. It was clean and neat.
No towels until we asked and the room was very small with poor lighting.
Paddy's House has a great location (30 mins walk from the city center, the bus station is right in front of the House). Comfortable room for three people.
Extremely small bathroom. Some parts of the room and especially of the bathroom were rather old and dirty. No toiletries. There was a problem with the water main (no continuous inflow of cold water).
We spend a good time at Paddy's house. Very good host, friendly. We recommend it
LOVED ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING...lovely suburb,easy/nice walk into the City...beautiful old charming house...light airy room with lovely white linen...must be gorgeous in the winter with the Aga on all day...FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS and YES I will stay here again next time I am in Dublin!!!
N.A. [not applicable]...nothing to say in this column!!!
Paddy and His Family. The most bombed shoe polisher! The easy going hostel style of hosting! Useful laundry facility.
Not enough room to move in the bathroom although the shower itself was fine. Towels very thin and few.
Owner was welcoming and helpful, providing a city map and details of bus times. The stop for the no.11 into the city centre is right opposite Paddy's House, which is convenient. (I also walked the route, which took 30 minutes). Shops in Ranelagh are just a 10 minute walk from the hostel (Tesco/Lidl, pubs, pharmacy). University College Dublin is a 30 minute walk in the other direction. En-suite was great. Had I stayed for longer, I would have made fuller use of the kitchen to cook my evening meals (cooker, Aga, microwave, fridge). Nice to find that tea, coffee and a basic breakfast was included.
The location might be a little distant from the city centre, for people solely looking to explore Dublin. The bus fare is £2.60 each way, so costs mount quickly (although it is possible to get roaming tickets and cards). My room was at the front of the house on the ground floor and whilst I couldn't hear the road traffic, there was some noise from the room directly above (creaking floorboards as the building is Victorian + sound of running water for showers). A lounge for communal use was advertised, but in fact was marked 'Private' and not accessible to guests.

Place's managers had care about the needs of customers. Very willing to help.
They had left to the customers the room cleaning and change of towels.
No towels in room when we arrived. Room not cleaned after the first night and towel not changed. Had to ask for towels every day we stayed there.
