The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. His wife was not. The location makes it easy to visit numerous very good restaurants and the centre of Kinsale whilst being on the quieter side of the town. We were disappointed with the room. It was very comfortable and quiet but for the amount of money that we paid we would expect some provision for tea/coffee; a booklet with details of the hotel, breakfast times and menu, places to visit and maybe a local magazine. In the room we would also expect to find tissues. Breakfast again was good but not enough variety for the amount paid.We have stayed in Kinsale many times and in hotels where we have paid less we have got more.

The Perryville is a lovely hotel in one of the nicest towns in Ireland. It is the first hotel you meet when you come in from the Cork city side so no searching for those not acquainted with Kinsale. There is free dedicated hotel car parking across the road which is ideal as the town is very busy…. With parking at a premium. My wife and I had a room on the Cork side with a lovely view of the harbour. The room was mid-size but comfortable with a nice sized bathroom. The bed was quite large also which is always nice. We did not have dinner in the hotel as we were only staying 2 nights and wanted to sample the town's vast choice of gourmet restaurants. We did have breakfast though and it was an ideal way to start the morning. The time between 8 - 10 was appreciated and we rose both mornings at 9am ( time to sleep off the night-before in good fashion ) and made our way down for a variable breakfast and served as we requested.....which does not always happen elsewhere. I had a brief chat with the owner when leaving on the upcoming Rugby world cup. As a former player he was full of enthusiasm for the event if not our chances. It was easy to see how the hotel had benefited from this same enthusiasm over the years. I was sorry to leave but will be back. Some small items : * we were not given a front door key and had to buzz in every time. There was no delay as there was always someone there to buzz us in and in fact it avoided having to keep a key but is unusual and I would have thought a nuisance for the hotel. * no linen bag in the room for storage etc. * no lift which meant dragging heavy bags upstairs. The positives far away the minor negatives.

It was real luxury. Beautifully old fashioned in the best sense, genteel. Antique furnishings, roomy. Particularly loved the lounges with the peat fire. Breakfasts to die for - old home made and using local produce even a real honey comb.

Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Beautifully furnished and decorated. More of a homely atmosphere than that of an hotel. It is a beautifully restored Manor House. I would love to visit again and will recommend it to friends. This is not a complaint, but we would have loved tea making facilities in our room. There is a beautiful tea shop within the hotel, but it is only open 9-5.

Andrew at Perryville was very and accomodating. The breakfast wias the bes we have had in all of Ireland! Perryville House had to be one of the friendlist places we stayed. A dislike would be the noise made by some men coming in late at night after drinking. Sounds carried.

We received a good welcome from Andrew. He took our cases to the room (there is no lift). He made space for us to park our car in the compact car park directly across the road from the guest house. The room was pleasant with a good comfortable bed and plenty of space. The power shower was quite exhilarating. Although we were staying in the "standard" room it had a nice view over part of the harbour and the little fountain outside. The WiFi service was excellent. The house was very tastefully furnished and generally in very good state of repair. Andrew provided us with menus of local gourmet restaurants so we could choose where to eat. The breakfasts were gorgeous. The breakfast room was pretty and comfortable. We had lovely granola with delicious home made rhubarb, cooked plums and West Cork yoghurt. A variety of cooked breakfast options were available. The poached eggs and bacon was delicious. Use is made of locally available named suppliers in all cases. We had lovely bread with home made preserves and honey most of which was served on beautiful Mosse pottery from Kilkenny. Overall a very luxurious touch and easily one of the nicest breakfasts to be found anywhere. As others have noted there are no tea & coffee making facilities available in bedrooms although there is a lovely tea room and shop downstairs. A very hard wearing beige carpet is laid everywhere throughout the guest house from reception rooms to stairs and bedrooms. While most areas and presumably many bedrooms also contain attractive rugs our bedroom did not have one, just the rough carpet underfoot. There were also a few minor maintenance jobs which should have been carried out in our bedroom and bathroom considering this is quite an expensive luxury guest house.
