Dit door een familie beheerde hotel in het centrum van Dublin kijkt uit over Phoenix Park en ligt op slechts 200 meter van het treinstation Heuston en de rode Luas-lijn. Het biedt een 24-uursreceptie, kamers met flatscreentelevisies en een traditioneel warm Iers ontbijt. Elke gerenoveerde kamer in het Phoenix Park Hotel beschikt over een badkamer met een ruime douche en een verwarmd handdoekenrek. De kamers zijn voorzien van een flatscreentelevisie, telefoon en thee- en koffiefaciliteiten. Het ontbijt wordt bereid met verse lokale producten en wordt geserveerd in het Franse café-restaurant van het hotel. In de bar kunt u ontspannen met een pint Guinness of een glas wijn. De Guinness-brouwerij en de Dublin Zoo bevinden zich beide op minder dan 10 minuten lopen. This is the truth about the Phoenix Park hotel. Basil Faulty would be proud to call this guy his son. We were nothing but an annoyance and an inconvenience as customers to this guy. What a disaster!!! Note: We stayed September 2011 – Post renovation We arrived at 18:25 on a Saturday and went to pay for the room at check in but no change was available at reception as no float was left for the girl. Managed to get it all sorted between girl and the two of us. (At least she was nice and tried to solve the change situation, even offering to give change out of her own wallet) Room and bathroom have definitely gone through a recent renovation and were nice enough. Price was reasonable at 79e for a twin room on a Saturday night. Careful of the bathroom window, they didn’t have the foresight to put frosted glass in so you have the blind down permanently unless you’re into a bit of public exhibitionism. Also be careful when leaving your room as the door to ours didn’t close and lock properly unless you give it a good bang. It would be very easy to leave the room without the room being locked. Up to then, not too bad until we met Irelands answer to Basil Faulty. It all became a disaster when we returned later that night. We met the most obnoxious guy I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting. We went into the bar for a night cap and ordered a pint of larger but were informed all 3 larger taps didn’t work. Being both of us are ex-barmen we offered to change the barrel for the guy and he proceeded to bring us on a tour of storage cupboards looking for kegs as he didn’t even know where the barrels were stored. While we decided what drink we were going to have since there was no larger on tap or in bottles he proceeded to stare us both down showing his annoyance of having to serve customers. I asked that he would not stare us down as to be honest it made us both feel very uncomfortable.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. It's bit outside of the city center -- but a quick ride on the nearby Luas station at Heuston Station and you're in the city center. For the price, it was great. The booking website bragged about having internet -- something the hotel did not have. As a business traveler, this was a total inconvenience. There wasn't even internet in the lobby or a business center. The hotel staff said that the hotel just reopened after a renovation and they are working on installing it.

fanastic staff, great business location, lots of transport links. Clean comfortable room and all new! As it is newly reopened there are bits to be done eg TV, radio, hotel information book etc. But it is nearly there!

Hotel is very easy to get to from Heuston station and the Luas gives excellent access to the city centre, there is a shop around the corner and the room has a tv, ensuite and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lift and quiet bar and restaurant attached to the hotel also. There was regularly nobody on reception. The cleaner was inconsistent and knocked on our door even though there was a do not disturb sign, which was very inconvenient because my partner had been sick all night and was trying to sleep. There was no bin or extra pillows in the room and we didnt get the room we asked for. Overall something went wrong everyday but its forgiveable because of the access to transport, restaurants and bars.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Phoenix Park Hotel for one night, We got the train to Heuston Station, which is a 5 mins walk away to the hotel, very easy to reach! First impressions it's really clean and nicely decorated, The staff were lovely, the guy in reception was very friendly and very helpful, we checked in around 6pm, unfortunately the kitchen was closed but there is plenty of places to eat very close by for all types of budgets, the room itself was a little bit on the small size but beautifully furnished, the bathroom was bloody massive, overall a great place to stay. We didn't drink in the hotel but there is a pub called Nancy Hands a few doors down, that i highly recommend, Fran the part owner was great craic! and if your up for a late one and a sing song it's the place to be...

Staff were great. Room was all that's needed for simple overnight stop. The heating was turned off and the room was very cold. It had not been heated for some time. This was during a very cold period generally, it should have been ready. The heating was available and worked, but the room was never warm when I needed it in the evening.

I liked how nice the room was it was clean and cosy and the staff were very friendly The hotel was a bit far out from the city centre and I was charged for the room on check in which I wasn't told that would happen. On check out the staff member didn't have a clue what she was doing and we were stood there for at least 15mins after we had spoken to her and she carried on serving customers in the restaraunt then when we asked again she said she had forgotten. That was the only issue really.

Good location, close to city centre, Luas red line. Spacious room. Friendly staff on reception. Room was a bit cold, heaters took a while to come on. Shower wasn't very powerful.

Great hotel for a quiet holiday ,friendly helpful staff, especially the bar man and receptionast Comfortable rooms ,with spacious showers for the larger person free wii-fi Well located beside a lot of tourist attractions and the Phoenix park ,real value for money , will definately be back

It's location was very convenient. Especially with the hop on - hop off bus it was the best choice, as we managed to visit all the major sightseeings in 2 days. The check-in was at 14.00, but we were allowed in the room after 16.00. The 2 boys in the reception were very helpful, but the old couple were giving us a hard time

My room was extremely quiet, which was great for me to get a night's sleep in a city hotel. Plus, I was able to store my bag for the day, which was great before getting a train home in the evening. The location was excellent, near Phoenix Park and Heuston Station. There was a bit of a 'Fawlty Towers' feeling about the place when I arrived, nobody at reception and little attention to my needs. The room just felt 'run down' with a missing light bulb, faulty or poor fittings in the bathroom and considerable noise from the bathroom fan. A bit of a stink off the new carpets and in a corner of the room and there was no wi-fi.

It was within walking distance from Heuston station for the early morning train. Good value for money and Nancy Hands pub was good food and close by.

Close to heuston station. 24 hour safe parking availble. Hotel is 20 mins walk from city center. Taxi €8.50 to city center. Good value for money. Rooms are small but suitable for purpose.
