After my flight was delayed the staff at The Pillar waited for me to arrive (they were calling my phone as I was ringing their doorbell at a couple of minutes past the agreed 11pm) when they would have been fully within their rights to lock the door on me and take my money anyway. Can't speak highly of them enough for that! The place is grand, very central location; bring earplugs.
Location is superb, really clean and altough I didnt have an en-suite room, shared bathrooms were clean and not busy. Recommended!
Clean, organized and near the city centre. Nice people attending the customers
Room a bit small for two persons, although we should not forget this is a B&B
Room was too hot with no facility to turn off or down the heat.
The ubication is perfect, very near to the center and Temple Bar.
The water of all the building gone the night of 31th december. Next morning the employee of the place didn't give us a solution or an explanation. We asked for the boss and his answer was that 'it is new year'. The boss never showed up. After a lot of insistence they refunded our money but we spent almost all morning.
Well, where do I start. There was no running water for 2 days/1 night. The hotel absolutely stunk. There was urine in the sink, the was c##p in the toilet that wouldn't flush due to no water. Didn't get offered s refund or anything. I'm glad we had one night there.
Very friendly reception, from an over-worked temp.
No running water anywhere in building and for this reason, toilet wouldn't flush also.. So hot in room we had to keep windows open all night. Fire exit with alley just outside the window, didn't sleep most of the night. Crazy person living permanently in room across hall tried to get into our room at night.
Almost everything. location, friendly staff, etc.
Location, friendly staff, quiet, very nice place to stay.
The location of the structure, 200mt far from the Spire of O' Connel street.
- The narrow room, thinked for 3 people but barely acceptable for one - Heating in the room didn't work and the staff didn't believe me after reporting. - Just one bathroom on the floor with the shower on the lower floor - Staff was not so friendly - High price for low quality
Location excellent, clean, nice staff
Bed, room, noise
The staff was rude, not really patient and there was a lack of information in regard the breakfast ordering. The room was very narrow and there were not enough showers for everyone. The price doesn't match the service at all.
Great Location: Right in the city centre
My twin room had a cheap squeaky bunk bed which was uncomfortable. I would have minded if I was paying hostel prices, but I was paying significantly more than I would for a night in a hostel. The room was tiny, it was more like a cupboard with just enough room for the bed. The 1 toilet on my floor was shared between the 5 or so bedrooms. There was 1 shower for the entire B&B which was downstairs.
It has a good location
It was overly stuffy & cramped with hardly any room to move, there was no where to put clothes but a small shelf up high. The bins in the bathrooms were not emptied from Saturday evening when we arrived till Monday morning when we left & don't think bathrooms were cleaned either, 200 characters is not enought be express how bad this place was!!
The staff was really nice.
The room was a bit boxy and we didn't have breakfast.
Good Value for money close to Dublin. Basic but clean with Wifi for free. YOu get what you pay for
I didn't like two loud drunken guests who came in at 04:00 and proceeded to bang doors and talk very loudly for one and a half hours unril 05:30. One even tried to get into my room - thinking in his drunken state it was his.
Position is perfect for visit Dublin
closed to city centre
no in suite
Very close to city center and Temple bar. Shared bathroom was pretty much ok and there was no crowd. Rooms have sink, TV and a bed. Be careful if you're coming late, they don't have a 24h reception so receptionist left us number to call him. Not a hotel standards, but value for money definitely.
Too many stairs...
Excellent location, at walking distance to a lot of Dublin's attractions. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Room and bathrooms were very clean. Owner is a very nice guy and willing to help.
The room was a little bit noisy, lots of people shouting at the street. The hot water on my bedroom's sink was out of order.
Looking forwsrd for a restgul sleep expecting a comfortable twin beds and got a double decker bed instead!
Great location near lots of nice places to get food and really easy to get to tram bus to temple bar ect.
Everything was covered in dust the duvet was grey underneath the white sheet. The plugsocket in the wall by the door was sunken into the wall like it had been kicked in.
The first night was ok - double bed and TV The concierge agreed to store our luggage for 2 nights while we we on a tour.
We had prepaid the 2nd night because we were leaving Dublin on a tour. When we returned we were given a different room with no facilities - only a bunk bed.
Nothing- location is only thing it has that is good, but to b honest it is not great either....
Staff- very unfriendly Room-did not say when booking it was a shared bathroom Bed- sheers had holes, no headboards and if i moved i hit my head on the curtin tie-back Door- got locked out at 3.30 am.... Had to wait to 9AM for staff to open door to let me in
