Fantastic food in restaurant and great friendly staff
We stayed here on the 31st of July this year. The accomodation was extremely comfortable and clean. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was truely excellent and extremely reasonable! We will definitely be back!
Just one small thing to mention the showers from the other rooms were very loud so we were awake nice and early.
- access to mountains (location) - good value for money - clean, quiet accommodation - good base for hill and coastal walks in the region
- food not served after 9PM, so be prepared to have your own if you plan to arrive late.
Twin room too small
location space and friendliness of staff and views where beautiful
The room was fabulous, fantastic view, very tasty breakfast, nice staff. Superb location, we definitely will be back there.
The resturant was excellently

Friendliness of staff. Very helpful. Location. Great food.
No hot water available when required. Room wasnt made up from first night. Cups etc weren't cleaned.
Bright curtains! No hairdryer..
It was overall a nice experience staying there. It's at a very good location. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were decent. Tea-coffee facility in room was a big plus.
the view, the quietness
mold on the windowsills
Lovely views and location.
Dinner was a bit scarce for price charged.
portfinn lodge is a lovely friendly hotel with excellent staff- there if you need them, otherwise leave you to come and go as you like. food excellent
Friendly staff / Amazing view from the room (the fjord and the mountains from the bathroom and the mountains and the sheeps from on the other side) / Great food (mussels and lamb were excellent)
Poor acoustic insulation, we could hear neighbors laugh and talk at night
Some hairs in the bed; bad smell in the room due to moquette
Good location, excellent restaurant, value for money
Needs power shower in bathroom.
The staff were fantastic. Really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The two twin rooms we stayed in were fine and spotlessly clean. The view of the fjord from our bedrooms was spectacular. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food/service was excellent. From the Lodge it is only a short walk to the village. Altogether we had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Could not recommend the restaurant highly enough.
Only a minor quibble was that neither room had a hairdryer but a member of staff provided one straight away on request. We also felt the breakfast while adequate was a bit boring. Most places in my experience offer omlettes and kippers etc. The muesli looked very tired, and the rest of the buffet could be improved with some fresh bread etc. The toast was barely lukewarm, the full Irish wasn't very tasty and the poached eggs were bullet hard! We realise the staff were very busy and this would not stop us from staying again but definitely room for improvement there, especially compared to the fantastic dinner.
Stayed with young kids. Staff are friendly. Brakfast was nice. Overall good service. Best location with beautiful mountains and lake.
View of the fjord was beautiful and yhe service was great. We were still on our home timezone and the staff were able to cobble together a room service meal even though the kitchen was technically closed.
Decore a bit tired
