Very comfortable bed
Arrived in salthill had to park car and walk to find hotel asked at restaurant no.one e end knew where the prairie was....found it eventually ..the reception area was no existent small little area given a clip board to sign in on asked to pay cash as machine not working no receipt given..up to.room which was freezing told heating was coming on ..went to.have a meal.in town visit the Christmas markets which we stumbled upon (as lady at hotel didn't gibe any information about the area. No information leaflets available either about the area ) came back after four house away heating was.no better room freezing cold got into bed and shivered for the night ,got up at 9 am left hotel couldnt stand it any more will not return...
Room very small.
That it says its a boutique hotel,it is not its more of a b&b
Lady who works here was very helpful. Room was clean, good location in Salthill, good value.
The heating wasn't turned on so the room was a bit cold.
The room was cozy and beautiful with the bath next to the bed, everything was new and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice
Location. Value for money. Warm & friendly proprietor. THE BEST`MATTRESS ever! Lovely, warm room with character.
It would have been great to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise, this is a great find.
Late check in time There was no water on the Sunday morning, therefore no opportuity to shower. This was not communicated by staff, and no good will gesture was offered, really poor. The radiator in the room didnt work
Location & decor
Room was tiny. No water from 2 am until 12 noon & no one to ask about the situation - no reception desk. No member of staff stayed on the premises for the night.
Lovely rooms, just what we needed and a great location.
The bed was comfy and location was ideal.
unfortunately the Room was very cold when we arrived. After 3 hours or so of heating the room it went off & didn't come back on in the morning. No spare blanket. Had to shower in the cold! Rte 1 not available on the TVs. Disappointing. No breakfast available. Have to go a few doors up.
Good location, has potential if the smaller details were given attention.
Stayed here about 3 years ago and really liked the place, so we said we'd return, unfortunately standards seemed to have slipped since then. Hover and bags at the bottom of stairs, poor first impression (bedsit!?). Had to request hand towel for the bathroom and early Halloween decorations not appreciated (dust, cobwebs&peeling paint!). Bath is in the bedroom which looks good, but not practical at all. Shower curtain didn't go the full way around the bath so water drowned chair to the side with our luggage on it! Poor value for money. Won't be returning..:(
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean, value for money, lovely restaurant down stairs
The rooms are tiny and they close for the whole of November
Tapas Restaurant Down Stairs - Amazing! Bedroom is ikea kitted out so very modern and clean! Bed was really comfy! Room was warm! Ideal location - 4minute taxi to quay/shop street to all the bars/shopping! Lovely to wake up in the morning right on the prom for a windy walk!
For those expecting a hotel - its not a hotel, more of a B&B without the breakfast! But it still suited us perfect as we researched and knew what to expect! We paid €75 for a room on a bankholiday Sunday! If you want a hotel (big room, pool, breakfast, reception) you need to be willing to pay the extra €150 for a hotel room in galway! It suited us perfect - as a young couple who wanted to spend more time exploring tha banter in galway rather than spending time in a hotel room!
Location - 10 seconds from the Gourmet Cafe! Clean, nice bed linen Power shower On street parking is ample though paid to 6pm.
Check in at 4, check out at 11am, no customer service outside of those times. Mobile phone number only available and this was not answered until after 4pm. Oversold as a boutique hotel as per the sign outside. It is a guesthouse with tiny rooms. Tiny double room. Seemed like a queen size bed. No wardrobe. 2 hangers placed on a bar over a tiny palm sized mirror was the extent of storage/ facilities. Toilet didnt work. Toiletries were very poor - one bottle of runny cheap shower gel. Radiator in the bathroom overheated and couldn't be turned off No breakfast or recommendation for breakfast even though the Gourmet Tart Cafe is 30 seconds away and is an incredible find. The guesthouse is also located over the Black Cat cafe so again there should be options for breakfast offered especially at the prices quoted. No tea making facilities in the room. Cash only as card option had no coverage so wouldn't work.
No breakfast, not even a option. B&B?????? what a joke. Staff were extremely ignorant. Ridiculously overpriced. Tiny room, barley room to get around the bed. For the size it should be a single. We barley slept with the noise from the banging windows. Avoid at all costs.
decor, friendliness of staff, free parking nearby, cleanliness
wifi not working on day I was there
Lovely Clean decor. The people that ran it were friendly and helpful. We got a good price. Really enjoyed our stay
The location was perfect for me, near my conference site and the sea. The price for a single room was good. The friendly woman welcomed me and explained everything in a few minutes so I could go out again. The shower was excellent, which is very important to me. I would definitely stay there again!
It is very hard to identify with the small writing down low. They should advertise "with the Black Cat Restaurant" or something. I really missed not being able to make tea/coffee in the morning like at most budget hotels. The heat wasn't on but I was so hot, with the thick quilt and no alternative available, that I didn't sleep well.
The room was lovely and cosy
Bedroom above the kitchen so very strong cooking smells and noise. No tea or coffee in room. No storage pace.
Good location above a tapas restaurant and near a bar. Close to sea. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Rooms small but suitable for a short stay. Value for price.
Lovely comfortable bad great location
Shower leak projecting into the room. Room not cleaned properly, can of beer under the bed. No coffee water or tea facilities!
I only needed the room for overnight accommodation as I was out with friends until late and left again at 8am. It had everything I needed: I had a good night's sleep and enjoyed the shower the next morning. Great location for where I wanted to be.
I couldn't locate Prairie House at first as it is located through/behind the Black Cat tapa's bar & I had to ask in a restaurant across the road who had to Google it before pointing it out to me!
bed, sheets, toilet, noise at night and in the morning... the bed was really uncomfortable. didn`t like the staff. the room doesnt looks really clean to me, didnt smells clean either...
