The room was nice and the beds were comfortable! The window was broken when we came in and i wasn't pleased that all the money had to be paid up front or else they wanted to pre-authorise the entire amount on my credit card for 10 days! I have never had this kind of system when staying at any hotel

The suites are very comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and well presented. The kitchen area is tiny. It isnt really a kitchen, rather theres a seating area/dining room table with chairs and the kitchen consists of a fridge and sink.Very little crockery but that said its a good facility and more relaxing that just being in a bedroom.

Friendly efficient staff We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a living room , On arrival the rooms seemed very stuffy and the light colour carpet was dirty in places .. also our bin was not empty! The breakfast queue is unbelievable !

It was spacious. Beds comfortable. A bottle of sparkling water at the bar cost 2.70! The shop in the foyer didn't sell water.

The suite was ideal as it allowed for flexibility and space for the children. The leisure facilities are great. Nothing, it is a very good hotel for the price.

The staff where excellent, the price of a pint of Guiness would be very hard to beat in a hotel at €3.75,when i asked to put on a sport on the giant screen there was no hesitation, all in all very happy. Only thing i didnt like was the creeking of what i can only say was the ceilings when we opened our window's in the suite,it was like there was someone in an upstairs room but we were on the top floor but thats the only thing i can fault.

Hotel has a great swimming pool my children loved it!! Hotel very close to city centre and easy to get to. Room smelt of smoke when we first arrived but we got the windows open and got the rooms aired. The suite was a bit of a trek from reception which isnt ideal with children and luggage but all n all we really liked the hotel and would def return.

It was fine for what we wanted. Location was good. Staff were very nice. There's nothing that really springs to mind that we didn't like - perhaps that the rooms were fairly basic and the balcony door was locked and nothing was said about a key!

We stayed in the two bedroom suites which were extremely spacious. The room had loads to offer and extremely comfortable. We were provided with plenty of towels and linen. THe location was excellent not too inner city so it was quite at night time. We ate one night in the bar. There was 20 other people at max eating in the bar. We waited 50mins for our food which was pretty basic food to cook. The steak baguette was extremely fatty and no steak knifes were provided. They had no table for 5 so we had to squash up together. All 5 of us were very disappointed with our food.

It was very comfortable and very user friendly, I could not fault anything about the hotel staff and comfort of suites The only fault I can find is that the suites are very difficult to find it took a while to get used to where we were going with the two lifts and the long corridors it would be great if there was an easier way to get to the suite and the hotel reception.

No daily room cleaning service when staying in the suites, which we shoud have been informed about prior to booking. Also, rooms were quite a distance from reception and bar, which was fine for me, but had my father with me and he wasn't able to find his way back from the bar to the room on his own.

I stayed in the Carlton Suites. The location of the hotel was perfect - near the city for shopping, close to Leisureland for beach walks and other activities and there was a supermarket within walking distance of the hotel. The reason for our trip was the All Ireland Gymnastic Finals and the Suites were the perfect option for us. Because I had two teenagers with me who were competiting on different days at different times, the self catering option ment that we could keep our expenditure to a minimum by making healthy lunches/snacks and taking them with us for the day. A small cooker would have been a lovely extra and if I was staying for a longer period (we were only there for a week-end) I think this would be a huge attraction to the suites. I had requested a quite room and thats exactly what I got. On other hotel trips, we have had to listen to singing, music, banging doors etc. etc. but at the Carlton there was no noise at all! On my 3 visits to reception, the staff were great. I actually noted this mentally upon checked in. I would definately stay in the Galway Carlton Suites again and have no hesitation in recommending them to friends or family. Only that a cooker - even a hob - would have been a fantastic addition.

Nice rooms, great location. One member of staff we met was not very nice. He was unprofessional, rude and completely ignorant. He ruined our night at the bar so much that we avoided it for the rest of our two night stay. But the remainder of the staff we met were all lovely and very helpful.

I found the suites a very good size and equipped quite well. Large Living / Kitchen area would be very satisfactory for a holiday stay e.g 1 week. There was a bad odour from the bathroom which didn't leave even when the extractor was left on for a good length of time. The loading / unloading of bottles was quite noisy early in the morning.

I liked the convenience of a suite to accommodate my 3 pre-teen children and myself. The staff were courteous and helpful. The location was convenient to the city of Galway. The hotel classifies a suite as a self catering apartment. Apartments aren't booked by the day, but by the week. At the Carlton guests are apparently expected to wash and change their own sheets. I paid for a suite (more expensive than a room). I've stayed in many suites over the years. All of them have the same services available to a room including room cleaning etc. The Carlton Galway needs to change their policy.
