The beach front location and the relaxed atmosphere. Upgraded to an apartment Old noisy mattress Breakfast overpriced We'd stayed there six years ago and whilst it was still an enjoyable stay there was a very noticeable decline in services staff and upkeep Having said all that we would still go back as the good still outweighs the not so good

Room was nice and clean and the leisure centre was nice. Most of the staff were nice too. The view of the beach was amazing as well We went out in youghal town, came back late around half two am. We couldn't get into the hotel and had to knock for ages in the pouring rain. Eventually a guy in his pajamas came to let us in but acted annoyed at my sister and I for coming back and waking him and said not one word to us.

While we were there the sun was shining in the day time. When we arrived we were told by the young receptionist that the hotel was full and would we mind if she up graded us to a 2 bed apartment. When I booked with booking.com I booked a twin/double room not a 2 bed apartment further more booking.com told us that there was a room available in the hotel. When she said upgrade I thought she ment something fancy and within the hotel so I signed in. She then brought us out of the hotel across an enclosed yard/area that didn't look much better then Mandella towers out of fools and horses to block 4 we climed up a concrete stairs to the 2nd floor apartment she opened the door and I was met with the stale smell of over use, stained carpets and rooms designed to keep day light out. I told her what I thought of it and returned to the reception in the hotel I had to press a buzzer to get back into the hotel from the yard. The receptionist fiddled with her PC a while and then she said she may have 1 room left in the hotel but that it had to be cleaned. I asked her to show me this room after viewing it I told her it was as bad as the apartment I had already viewed at this stage an Indian gentleman dressed in a chefs blue overall got involved (there didn't seem to be a manager on duty) he asked us would we mind waiting 10 more minutes and he would try to sort out a room he asked us to go into the bar where they stood us a drink, we both had a mineral. He some how turned it all around and gave us room no. 235 that turned out to be a double/twin room. When you travel a long journey all this rubbish is the last thing you need, faulty towers was mild compared to this place.

It was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom facility of walk in shower not good. Wooden chair provided on request - not suitable - slippy when wet. Water everywhere after shower - floor dangerously slippy. Double bed provided - inadequate for two adults - friendly not gay! Corridors and fire doors very difficult to negotiate for partially disabled person on 'scooter' or in wheelchair.

The location on the beach was brilliant. we had sea view apartment which I would advise if booking. The spa was small but staff were excellent and I got three treatment which were top notch. The apartments were a bit dated and double bed not very comfortable but loads of room in two bed apartment and two bathrooms. A welcome pack would have been nice.

The leisure centre and the Bar I was in room 250 and there was constant noise from a ventilation fan on the roof outside you would need to keep the window closed all the time very annoying

The hotel is situated close to beach an has a lovely leisure center. The girl at reception was very polite..rooms were clean but all the good things are out numbered by the bad things Asked for cot for baby.never turned up.. we had to complain about kids screaming an roaring at 11 at night. In fairness the manager saw to this straight away but as soon as he went in it started again.needless to say I was not happy as they woke my baby from her sleep. The price of the food in hotel was ridiculous an even with the fact we ate once I had to return food that was cooked early in day an was just reheated when ordered. In theses times especially as a family u wud expect some kind of family specials but no. We won't be returning again simply because I think my own opinion it's really screwing people with food prices. 10 euro for a breakfast.a joke.

The quality hotel youghal is a great place for families with young children. The dolphin club will keep them amused along with the beach and swimming pool. The restaurant and the bar had the same menu. I think the restaurant menu should be of higher quality.

Proximity to the beach, that's it! Restaurant and bar food was poor. We've stayed in other Quality hotels with similar restaurants and the food is not up to par here! We paid extra for sea side view and regret it, because we had multiple problems with no hot water during multiple day stay. In multiple apartments! Which forced us to take cold showers after waiting hours in the failing attempt to get hot water again! Hotel staff came in unannounced, multiple times!!
