Everything was great
The room was freezing cold!
Suited my requirements for business, very central and easy access.
Location was perfect
Parking was difficult
It fulfilled all the criteria expected for the price. It was warm and comfortable
Breakfast was disappointing
the parking was very inadequate
- clean and good looking hotel - very comfortable bed - helpful staff
- some wifi problems, at times, it would be very slow, then better.
Nice staff and great location
The double bed was just two single beds put together
The staff where very friendly and went out of the way to help us, and put a lovely fruit plate for my birthday which was a lovely touch
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very Comfortable and spacious room. Bath as well as shower. All good.
Hotel was busy with early Christmas groups/shoppers but had a nice festive feel.
Lovely hotel can't wait to stay again
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Location excellent. Walking distance to town. Use of pool big advantage.
The staff and location
The hotel was cold and very dated and in need of refurbishment.
I like everything: the room had a nice decoration and the bed was so comfortable; the staff was very friendly and de they answered all my doubts and the food was tasteful and good prices! The localization was very good specially if you would like to go the theatre!
I was not like of the fire alarm because it sang th first day of the year at 7 am and I almost jumped my bed. Every moment that a guest tried to smoke in room the fire alarm sang in all floor.
My mum lives in Ireland and we have visited numerous hotels round Ireland where the staff have always been superb, the same cannot be said for the Maldron,, our basin was blocked which we had to remind the staff to fix, on the third day of our stay! The fire alarm went off 4 times during the early hours on New Years Eve and at 03:30 on New Years day, when we asked the staff about this they said yes, "she heard about that" no offer of an apology. Key card not working, again no apology. Sign on door: do not disturb, what does reception do, knock on the door to ask if we are checking out, no we are not - receptionist turns around and leaves without apologising for disturbing us. The hotel itself was dated, the hot water had to be run for at least 5 minutes before heating, would not want their water bill! Would not visit this hotel again if in Cork
Very Dark Externally Didn't feel safe Construction work internally - Continuous heavy works being carried out. Construction materials everywhere. Meeting wheelbarrows and materials and the construction workers in the lifts, outside the lifts, in the foyer and hallways. Dust and Dirt to meet and greet. Room was an old hospital ward room. Very cold and bed felt very cold and nearly dampish due to the cold. Room had been at a very remote and isolated part if the hotel. Receptionist or Manager did not inform me of the construction works or the unacceptable conditions before or at checkout. Breach of Health and Safety legal requirements were so visible. I did not accept the insulting 'pull the wool over their eyes, type attitude of this hotel to the paying customer. I requested a refund, left the crazy, spooky place and went to Jury's Hotel where everything is as advertised. Staff wonderful and welcoming, happy and chatty and also they have a nice smile for you with a caring attitude and happy to be doing what they enjoy doing, Food good, great rest, location excellent. I made a mistake with the Maldron as I was not quite familiar with the city and parking when staying. The Maldron anywhere will never be a choice for me again.
Location and staff .. leisure centre
Room was very basic for , price , maybe your paying for location .. One of the reasons for booking was location and advertising free car park , only about 20 places outside front .. wasn't told this when booking .. worried about parking on street , having to get bck from city to change parking disc , or get a ticket or even worse car towed as there was a truck taking a car when I eventually found parking ... far away from hotel ... Room was cold when checked in .. heating came on later , wasn't to bad .. but when we came back after being out for the night room was cold , no heating and still no heating in the morning ... told them at reception and they apologised and said they will tell maintenance , In my mind not good enough at all for the cost of our stay ... in saying that we had a complimentary coffee and tea before we left ,,, ill leave you make up your own mind .. After spending a week in hotels before this , all around ireland , it was the worst im sorry to say and I won't be booking here again ...
The food from the bar, the bar staff were very helpful, the location was great.
Couldn't open our window, reported it and nobody came to our assistance, fire alarms kept going off very early in the mornings, when we rang to see should we evacute the building, we were told not to, that it was somebody smoking in their room and when we went to the reception to complain about it, we were told they couldn't identify which room it was. The alarm went off at 3.30 a.m the next morning, we reported it again and was told that they did know which room it was.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Short walk to the town.
Fire alarms going off due to people smoking in their rooms and the parking.
I was woken 4 times by fire alarms going off. Needs to tell people who smoke that alarm not to
Had a very enjoyable stay i will highly recommend the hotel to family an friends the staff were friendly an helpful food was nice pool was nice
Loud noise Cramped rooms
Room wasn't as described. Guests in other rooms were loud and partying all night. Fire alarm went off throughout the night. We saw illegal drug reminants on the hotel floor the next morning. A disgrace!!
The waitress staff were great
The state of the hotel and lack of parking was dreadful
