Price. Nothing else! Very late check-in time of 3.30pm, and we had to wait until 4.40pm on top of this.Considering they have a ridiculous check out time of 11.30am they had plenty of time to have rooms ready. We left our room one day as cleaners were outside. They had just put refreshing towels in a bag hanging out of the door. Even though they saw us leaving they didn't bother to clean our room. Very poor decor. Place needs a serious re- vamp. Room was very dirty, stains on the carpets, stinked of freshener, no toilet brush, no hotel information. Breakfast very questionable, buffet not fresh, orange juice stank, staff dis-interested looking. Didn't appear to be anyone in charge. 2 sick tummies in the group. Bar food and drinks not much better. No free wi-fi in rooms. Old Days Hotel signage up. Are they too lazy to replace this? Very bad for brand image.

For me, it was also a trip down memory lane. I stayed at this hotel 40 years ago when my late husband and I came to Ireland on honeymoon. It wa then known as Ryans Hotel.. We had a wonderful time and my biggest memory was my husband's joy when he had oats porridge with cream on it. I would say it was good then and it has the same qualities now, only bigger. If I have one critiscism it is at breakfast time. There needs to be some way of organising the individual guests from the coach parties as one gets into a long queue anad can wait some time before getting to a table.. As I mentioned above, the organisation at breakfast time. Also as one person travelling alone, I think staff should be made aware of looking around carefully as one can be overlooked when they are requiring sevice especially in the lounge.

Poor check in, slow and unhelpful. Dreadful organisation. Breakfast was a disaster, queuing for over thirty minutes to get a table. No hot water in the room on the last morning.

The service was excellent. The leisure centre was brilliant for the children, especially with our weather conditions The hotel is close to the Sea and to the shops. Breakfast served up to 11 which was great as we could get a swim in before breakfast. The food was lovely. I picked up my niece on the way down, which was an extra person, there was no problem, a fold up bed was put into the room, no issue made.

The receptionist was more than helpful when we got in late onMonday night last, we had to ring and look for exact directions, he was more than helpful even with his unusual accent was quiet clear.Helped with the voucher query that we had. Compident staff make the difference.

The service was helpful and efficient and the staff very friendly We used both the bar and the main restaurant for dining. In both the foofd was of a high standard and reasonably priced. I also used the health club which was excellent. The room that we had opened out onto the back of the hotel where the heating/ventilation system was placed. This was extremely noisy which meant we were unable to have the window open at all. Not ideal as it was quite warm and the room didn't have airconditioning.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, the foyer was fine and the bar was nice The grounds of the hotel were a mess, there was little if any signage as to where to park or where to enter the hotel from the carpark. Once one leaves the foyer, the hotel is very empty and industrial. Every corridor and room is bland. The floors of the corridors were like walking on prefab floors and were too 'noisy'. Some of the carpets were patched together. The place lacks decor and character. I imagine this extension was hastily and shabbily erected.

I have stayed here several times over the past few years.. Two changes I noticed. The Breakfast has greatly improved, it does not seem to slap up anymore. The bed quality is poor. They seem old and battered and could do with changing. I moved room after night 1 but room 2 was not much better. One thing that also annoyed me, I went for a swim and they tried to charge me for a towl which I thought was mad seeing as I was a resident.

Hassle free booking, comfortable room, nice staff, close as you'll get to being at home. Stayed before and will stay again. Not the cheapest but worth the money, you pay for what you get. I'd change nothing, I like it.
