The young lad at the bar was lovely and could not do enough for us as was the lady at breakfast.
The lady on reception when we arrived was rude and we seemed to be disturbing her by checking in. The place lacked atmosphere and life. It was just a stop gap for business people was how it was felt. Stayed here before the refurb and the place was great, had a lovely bar and was inviting. Not this time, will not be staying again. The bar was not somewhere you would stay and have a second drink, uncomfortable and no atmosphere. Had to go to the room at 8 pm. Food was poor and the room seemed to be a budget room and needed attention, not sure if this was because it was a late rooms booking.
Lovely hotel, fab gardens. Lovely food and great facilities. Plenty for small kids to do.
Was told one over the phone and again on checkin that kids could use the pool until 6.30pm. When went to the pool we were told that they had to be out by 6pm, so only have half hour in the pool
Not a lot
Food , room
Not much for kids
Very nice room lovely balcony with nice view
Food was lovely. Bar staff very friendly and professional in particular a guy called Ed. Bar food was fresh and very good value for money. Good facilities for kids.
Dirty glasses outside our room on arrival. Room was a little shabby. Toilet had not been cleaned. Really disappointed with the leisure centre - sauna was out of order and the jacuzzi was emptied while I was still in it!! Reception staff not very friendly.
The Breakfast .
The smell of cigarette smoke in the room and surrounding area, but I can't blame the Hotel for that as they can't control what a customer does in the privacy of their room
The staff were very friendly and hard working and we like everything about the hotel and will use it again.
The hotel obviously caters for a lot of families as their rooms, menus & facilities were geared that way
Although it is situated on a roundabout it's still a good location for touring around & is close to everything. We found checking in to be a slow process & staff could've been a little livelier
Basic room. Clean.
Awful breakfast. To have to serve yourself tea, coffee, make your own toast and queue to get hot food is ridiculous at the price.
The spaciousness of the room.
Noise and the alarm going off in the middle of the night
Clean, nice room
Ordered food at bar that never arrived, put sitting outside dining room for breakfast, fire alarm at 5 in the morning, no space in car park in evening. Lot of money just for a good sleep.
Parking on the premises, large size of the bedroom, friendly bar staff
Lack of customer service at reception. Expensive room rate and breakfast not included.
The bedroom was great
service in the bar. It took a long time to get fed.
The food is good
So much noice. So many kids. People and kids screaming. The pool and spa don't respect the pictures. Pool fuul of kids making noice. Kids running on corridor and stairs. Never go there if you want to relax!!!!?
No fans in bathrooms and lounge not very comfortable
Staff lovely and friendly. Facilities good also but not well maintained. Food good when it came out. Took a long time to come but politeness of staff made up for it.
Pillows so slim and uncomfortable. If you get a courtyard room, beware of kids running around and making noise from the crack of dawn. Also adults having brekkie in front of restaurant so noisy. Avoid the rude Taxi man who claims to be affiliated to the hotel, not a pleasant experience.
Nice surroundings. Well appointed rooms
On Friday there had been a children's summer club and the hotel bar was full of kids running about in and out of doors to the gardens. On Saturday night there was no kids club but the bar was still full of children running about at 12.30am. some of these kids were as young as 2 or 3 and their parents appeared to be drunk. I had been in the bar at 6.30pm for a meal and recognised the same parents still there with their kids after midnight. I would definitely not go back to the Waldron
Spotless bedrooms. Very comfortable beds. Good food. Good music.
Staff very slow to collect empty glass or pick up used dinner plates in the bar both inside and outside. Sunday night tables were not cleaned at all after people had food etc then left the tables. Others had to sit surrounded by there used plates cups leftover food and push all to one side to get a space to leave there glass down. Bar ran out of few different drinks over the weekend which during the month of august you would not expect to happen . Also some of the bar staff could be more friendly. In reception area there was a spillage on the floor I told the lady at the desk incase someone would fall but 5 hours later it had dried into floor and was black from people walking into it all day. A simple wipe of a mop!!!! Playground could have a bit more in it . But the water fountain always had something extra floating in it papers etc.
Staff were so polite and tried to make up for bottle necks in kitchens, rooms etc. We stayed and there were so many children there so that's why it would have been tough as it was so busy.
The hotel have some arrangement with a local Taxi driver and this man is extremely vocal and vulgar and nothing short of a bully. I would not advise this service to anyone. Check in was tough depending on who you got.
Comfortable beds, great breakfast. Very friendly staff
A bit noisy at night but not bad enough to stop us sleeping
Floor and seats in restaurant were dirty
Excellent facilities for children.
Very poor service in the restaurant
Location Room not near front of hotel and all the noise from far too loud music.
Looks tired At 11pm loads of children running all over the place. Music so loud from group that I had to lip read the receptionist .
all staff helpful, kind & courteous comfortable room, great beds nice atmosphere child friendly swimming pool was the deal breaker where kids are concerned :-)
Hotel was extremely busy on a Sunday afternoon so had to wait a little for our room which was to have been available at 3.30pm. Again must have been badly short staffed as used dishes & glasses left on tables. Food was ok, not yummy, sorry :-( but waiter was brilliant :-)
