눉The B&B is in need of an update. We felt the island has become more of a tourist trap than a quaint island full of history. Joe, Aiofe's father, gave us the island tour, however, we felt the tour suffered. He charged us double what the going rate was and we had to walk up hill, by ourselves, to one of the sites which took us a half hour each way. He dropped us off at the visitors center and came back to pick up up an hour and a half later (good thing we had the Heritage Card to get us in free). We felt somewhat abandoned by him though, he just didn't seem to be enthusiastic about tour guiding us that day. He also charged us separately for taxi service, to pick us up from the restaurant in town and to the pier when we left the island, which should have been inclusive in the B&B cost. He seemed nice enough, but not a people person.
눇For a 3-Star B&B it is rated correctly. Aiofe, the hostess, was very welcoming and friendly. She picked us up at the pier and brought us to her establishment. The room was large but dated. She served us tea/coffee and biscuits when we arrived. She arranged for an island tour and the breakfast the next morning was good. Great view of Kilroan and the water out her back door. If we didn't have Aiofe, I think this trip would have been very disappointing. She was a sweetie!
