Not much Food terrible, service extremely slow, with staff who were defensive and unhelpful. Devoid of any atmosphere, cellar bar freezing, Reception staff very unhelpful, one if the worst hotel experiences we have had.

Location. Very poor quality restaurant and food not at all in keeping with a 4 star hotel and not good value for money. Service in general poor and impersonal.

We stayed mid week therefore the hotel was a little more quiet than at weekends. this suited us. We liked the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel and it's surroundings. The staff and cleaning operatives were very relaxed in their roles. This added to the 'first gear' pace of the hotel. The leisure facilities were great including the gym. Breakfast was very nice with a good range. We spent some time in the old part of the house - drawing room etc. This was very nice, the book shelf in the hallway was a nice touch, we sat reading for a while in these rooms. The choice to spend time in old or contemporary surroundings we loved. It was like stepping from Pride and Prejudice into Lost in Translation! We enjoyed our stay. There was just one thing we didn't like and that was the very strong smell of urine in steam room/sauna area. We guessed it was coming from the shores outside one of the steam rooms. This was a real let down. We stayed in the hotel some years back, there was just one area we felt needed a touch up and that was the steam room/ sauna area - flaking paint on the ceiling, broken buttons in the snail showers. Apart from that, everything else we felt had not slipped since we were last there.

This hotel is advertised as an old country house but there was no character or 'country home' feel about the place. The facade of the hotel was old world but the main hotel was a modern build added on to the back of the old house. Might as well have stayed in an ibis hotel for all the old world charm we experienced. Also constant wind going through the reception.

Lovely setting and good spa but it was overcrowded the night we went because of cheap deals I suppose and we couldn't get a booking in the main restaurant. We went downstairs to the bar but left because of a rugby match blaring out. We ended up sitting in the bar near the lobby so there was no atmosphere. There's a huge amount of space in the hotel but it's badly designed in that there are acres of corridors and lobby space but nowhere really cosy to sit down. I loved the outdoor part of the pool. How amazing to be swimming outdoors in Cavan in January! But be aware of a really stupidly placed submerged wall just to the left as you exit the indoor pool for the outdoor. Myself and a number of other people swam straight into it. There's a notice about it but it is not clear which pool they're talking about. I suggested to the staff that they need to build it up to prevent an accident. The staff incidentally were just barely pleasant largely because of the crowds they had to deal with that night. The doorman, however, was delightful and very helpful. Don't think I'd go back. There's a downside to cheap deals even for multi starred hotels. Too many people pile in at weekends and the exclusivity goes alongside the top class service and feeling of luxury.

It was a lovely relaxing (and very reasonable--pricewise) break. We had been there before but it was even better this time. The food was also better than the last time which was when it opened first A manager (in a suit) came around on Mon night,16th Jan to ask if everything was alright with our dinner. Everything was alright but by the time we had said that,he was already gone to the next table---i.e. he didn't wait for the answer. It would have been far better not to ask at all. I understand the normal restaurant manager was ill and that this man was just filling in. The waiter/waitresses were very attentive anyway.

My partner and I wanted a relaxing weekend break away from the pressures of work and life. Coming to Farnham Estate was just what we needed. The staff were polite and helpful, the hotel was clean & tidy. And looked beautiful, the rooms were stunningly decorated. I would stay in a number of Radissson hotels, and Farnham Estate hotel was by far the best.

The Spa experience was fantastic, they could really tap into that facility even more than they do. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The link of the old stately house/rooms to the new hotel is very well done, and it is a lovely touch to note that bar/food service can be enjoyed in these rooms also, which made it very authentic. Felt some of the furnishing were a little dull (wood panelling/faded wood in main bedroom doors etc), but to be honest that is really nit picking, as overall experience was lovely

Lovely size rooms and with views of the countryside. The staff are always helpful, efficient and friendly. The opening between the bed and the bathroom. I still struggle to understand why anyone in the bath wants to chat with some one in the bed? Apart from the possible unpleasantness one could suffer from an unwanted bad smell eminating from said adjoining toilet!

Loved the pool and leisure area! The cellar bar is nice but quite small. The restaurant area is fine for breakfast but not really that appealing for a intimate dinner, the tables for 2 are very small. Dinner was reasonable though, food was nice for the price.

Staff were exceptional in Radisson Blu Cavan, they couldn't have been helpful enough. Stayed here 2 years ago and some things are not as good but overall enjoyable stay and would go back for a relaxing wkd. €15 to hire bikes for even a hour is a bit pricey...

I loved the spa and the pool. The setting was amazing. I disliked the service in the upstairs bar. The sfaff repeatdley gave us the wrong item we ordered of the menu. We had to go up to the bar to retrive our own drinks.

We were not impressed with the indoor swimming pool it was really cold both days , also the jacuzzi part didnt seem to be working. We had a treatment done that we werent even told what id done for our skin etc. For the price we expected a bit more for our money we were a bit dissapointed with some aspects of the hotel and its facilities and we were only speaking that we wouldnt be raving about it like we have after leaving similar hotels..
