location compared to price. Too far out from city for the price. Breakfast room was broken up and not inviting.
Amazing big bed and comfortable Nice staff at reception
I come to Dublin regularly and know now most of the hotels in town. Last weekend i want tot try something different away from the chaos od the city centre but not far from it. I chose one of the most classic building of Dublin south. Close to the sea, the hotel is an old perl that was nice to discover. I had lunch at the Orangeries, a beautiful glass house with a view on the park. food was excellent and service impeccable. the room were spacious, cleaned, bed comfortables and a wide panoramic window. I just had a quiet two days resting, if you need peace and quit this is the place.
-Beautiful design -Top class staff in all areas -Gorgeous rooms -Excellent bar and bar menu -Gardens for a morning stroll -Free parking -Only 6-8 minutes from Stephen's Green via taxi -Efficient check-in and check-out -Garden view room was excellent
The history and architecture was superb and combined with the friendly and professional staff, it was fabulous! I will be sure to tell others!
Ambience. Room was very nice. Location on edge of Dublin gives good access to city and to nice places like Dalkey and Blackrock.
The laid back atmosphere of the hotel was a real suprise. From the time I arrived everything was very relaxed from check in to enjoying a few drinks overlooking the fab gardens. The rooms were comfortable and I had a peaceful nite sleep. Wil def be returning!
Breakfast at 18e is very steep
Location and reception rooms - fantastic. Orangerie - particularly impressive with views of gardens and fountain - wonderful for such an urban environment. Doorman was helpful and made all feel welcome - watched him interact with others arriving or catching taxis.. Restaurant - very good and waitress Priscilla attentive.
It didn't affect us but some Americans requested specific martini which bar didn't have. We suggested some but would have thought you should have stocked alcohol specifically for American tourists. Americans like to be catered for!!
Excellent room service and a brill sleep.
Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds. The bed was the most comfortable ive ever slept in We didnt want to leave!
When booking online we were asked if we had any special requests etc so I mentioned it was a combination of a 'big birthday " combined with a "special wedding anniversary ".It would have been nice if they had acknowledged that even with a small gesture. Also I felt the menu wasnt very varied in the bar so we settled on burger and chips which were very disappointing.,overcooked rubbery burger, skinny chips, definitely not 5 star quality. We quietly told the waiter who apologized but nothing came of it.However I wouldn't want to tarnish anything about this beautiful hotel,it was lovely
The settings in a green area. Easy of access as its entrance is on a main road although the building is then removed from it. The view from my window overlooking a park. The noise of other guests muffled down by thick walls
We were given a free up grade to a suite. Very Very nice
A little entertainment could be considered ???
Excellent value and liked historic influence
Size of rooms and distance from town but taking cans was really not a problem
Spacious rooms Great choice at breakfast staff are amazing, friendly Hotel is beautiful Well maintained and cared for grounds great location for bus into centre of Dublin Ten min taxi ride to Grafton street Amazing parking spaces Just re-booked a weekend for Christmas
5 star with no pool Food in bar is not great.
Surroundings, facilities, staff, food, ease of parking.
Bedrooms really need up dating
No hot water for a shower !!!!!!!!!!!! Air con on roof above room !!!
The hotel property is as beautiful as the pictures. Suite was on a corner, offering two different views. Buffet breakfast was also good.
Two minor issues - light from Raddision sign required me to close the blinds at night (which worked). I prefer to keep them open to be awakened by sunlight. Hotel is also not in easy walking distance to town amenities, so car is needed. Still, would happily stay again.
The air conditioning was easy to use.
On arrival - staff not very helpful . The hotel seems to be all add ons with no central area- and no map or signs to show how to find anything. Breakfast in bed was too big with no option to choose just certain items. It was cold, greasy and not particularly nice.
Our bedroom was a bit shabby for 189e without breakfast and we were woken up in the middle of the night by someone banging on de door and when we complained the staffs attitude was "well it wasnt our staff so sorry" which I thought was very disappointing plus the bar food menu wasn't great and 60e for a burger, steak sandwich, one dessert and three drinks was expensive and 7e for a glass red wine way too dear
Quiet location, nice staff, decent breakfast.
TV picture quality was poor, did not get complimentary newspaper to suite.
Friendliness of staff Orangerie Very good room with excellent views over beautiful garden Quiet
Did not try Italian restaurant, but seemed expensive Fitness room facilities limited, no water
The gardens are beautiful and the location is superb, quiet yet near the city.
The dining room is rather strange and the food wasn't great.
Staff really friendly and help full.room comfortable.
Staff very responsive. Bar really nice
