Our room was like an oven as balcony door was broken and wouldn't open during one of hottest days of year. Rang receptionist and she said if she moved us the room wouldn't have a balcony anyway. Very uncomfortable night. We weren't asked on checking out if we had enjoyed our stay.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in for many reasons. First reason been the staff. Casha and indeed all the staff are so nice. Our room was spotless. Had a room with a balcony and could not fault it. We were going to aran islands early next morning after our arrival and they made us a packed lunch which we could barely finish. When we returned we had an evening meal which was fab. Next morning we went for breakfast and your choice was endless between juices''cereals' full irish' and fresh fruits, how anybody could give this hotel a negative review I will never understand, if I could I would give this hotel a 5 star plus, thankyou everyone at the oyster for a great stay in your hotel.helen

The room was spotless and very warm

Freshly cooked eggs would be nice The view from the veranda was amazing but why was there no table and chairs?

Comfortable beds. Good shower. Very plentiful and tasty breakfast which was very good value. Friendly and efficient staff. Free wifi.

Entrance area was very drab and creates a bad first impression. Room overlooking a graveyard ( would ask for sea view if returning). Lack of wardrobe space.

Was a bit far out of Galway.

Two people (at least one drunk) kept us awake from 3.00 until 4.30 while they argued loudly. I think the man at reception but without success.

Rooms are beautifully decorated with fabulous wetroom showers. Spotlessly clean, very friendly helpful staff.

Ceremony room could be less commercial looking (is quite obviously a conference room), cooked breakfast was not appealing, but the selection of alternatives kinda made up for it!

Staff made a great effort to accomodate our needs re breakfast etc as we had to leave around 6 A.M. to attend a family funeral. Much appreciated and very disappointed we had to cut our trip short.

Most friendly staff i have ever met in a hotel.My husband and i really had amost relaxing week end at the Oyster.Food and service was excellent.Cant wait to go back.

Please put up sign for hotel on the main street, as we drove around for 20 minutes trying to find hotel

Right in the village of Oranmore, you could walk to resturants etc..

The breakfast was very poor, very small selection and luke warm and being kept warm from 7.30am.

The location was great and facilities and cleanliness were good

Nearly everything. My room was spacious and very comfortable.

I had to drive to Oranmore from Galway city.

We were leaving early in the morning to catch a flight to the Arran Islands. We asked for a packed lunch instead of breakfast. They gave each of us a sandwich, a foot long roll filled with chicken and salad, an apple, a pear and a drink. It was enough for two lunches and was excellent. Full marks.

The fact that only open wardrobe space and no shelves for clothes. Breakfast poor quality (kept hot too long).Shampoo and shower gel very poor quality, The fact that there is no lounge area to relax in while having a drink away from the dining areais a big minus

I didn't like driving past the Ramada encore hotel three times, trying to find the Galway oyster hotel, only to give up, go in and find this was the Galway oyster hotel. No notification of name change on booking, not a single sign or message that this is the Galway oyster hotel- shocking. Staff weren't exactly very bothered, " do you want to see the manager?" being the response. It was if they had heard similar complaints many times. The while site was a bit of a shambles, in a state of transition I guess, but I wouldn't have booked it if known. Breakfast was a shambles, no milk, no bowls, all very unsatisfactory. Oh well, live and learn, it's nit like there aren't many alternatives.

The staff were excellent and all of them went out of their way to assist us. Sea views were beautiful. We weren't able to access the balcony in our room and they immediately changed our room to one with balcony access. The location was close to the ocean and there was ample free parking. Buffet breakfast was good. Accommodation was basic but given the cost it was very good value for money. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

The hotel is in a great location for the races. It is centre to Oranmore which is a lovely part of Galway.

The hotel was slightly difficult to locate due to the signage but not that this was a huge issue. The rooms were not ready when we arrived at 2.20pm although advertised available at 2pm. The wooden floors in the room were a little cold to look. The room itself was quite dirty including the quilt on the bed and the white curtain. The lighting in the bathroom was very very dim. The chair in front of the mirror in the room was badly stained and wet with oil. This made access to a mirror difficult as the bathroom was so dark you could only use the one in the room.
