friendly staff !
Irish Breakfast basic ie no pudding as you would normally have in an irish breakfast , tomato consisted of a tiny cherry tomato cut in half ! No breakfast buffet as advertised by photo on website ,although you could ask for scerial and yogurt ! Orange juice was fresh though and coffee was nice.. . Meat in irish stew was very tough and small portion . . Fish Casserole was nice. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich was very dry no butter cheap ham , slice paper thin . . i'm a chef so maybe over critical !! On checkout we were overcharged by 30 euro although this was refunded when brought to managers attention . Overall we found it a bit over priced at 304 euro's for two nights with breakfast , stew , fish casserole and two pints of lager then again i'm used to sterling so dealing in euro's always seems more !! overall was good with friendly manager and staff , would stay again xx
There for the matchmaking festival Iovely music every day Hotel was spotless room very comfortable and out tea tray was filled daily enjoyed our stay and hopefully will be back
There was nothing not to like
Staff were very friendly and helpful good and service very good
This hotel provided everything we required on an overnight stay. Accommodation, food and entertainment. There was no need to look further. AND the staff were outstandingly attentive to the needs of guests.
nice staff, good entertainment, great craic music all under one roof
Great experience from start to finish; couldnt wish for more -a fun, friendly, efficient and joyous place to stay- great staff.
The owners and the staff were lovely you could not ask for better.
Friendly and welcoming family run hotel. Great atmosphere with live traditional Irish music. Top location as a base for day trips. Highly recommended.
Very pleasant staff and great location
No residents bar
The hotel was lovely and had great music each night
Service was excellent. Food was great. Live Music was terrific! Hosts very friendly and helpful. Parking was close by,
A family owned hotel, with a nice restaurant downstairs with wonderful Irish music that was NOT heard from our room. Location
The stairs although the owner helped carry the luggage
Our flight arrived 3 hours late so we missed the live music and got there after midnight. We were made to feel so welcome and we were helped to our room with the bags and they rushed down to put on a toasted sandwich for us and a drink. Great chat and popular with locals due to the music I imagine. Really want to go back and stay longer to see the music.
The rooms were basic but good value and right on the highstreet.
Warm greeting on arrival and plenty of advice on local interest and travel routes. Staff always very friendly and could not do enough to make stay enjoyable. Music in the evening made stay memorable.
great value for money, very central, excellent and friendly staff,
bed was very uncomfortable and quite small, also had plastic mattress cover over mattress so it rustled every time we moved. We had a room facing the main road so it was quite noisy.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was adorable and the rooms were spacious and clean. We had dinner at the tavern down the hill however afterwards headed back to Rathbaun for the live music. The place was lovely and we enjoyed the traditional Irish band. It is a very small town however there are plenty of things to do around the area. Cliffs of moher.. horseback riding at mountainview stables and Doolin cave. Highly recommend staying at rathbaun.
Hotel could do with small ashetic updates but loved it otherwise.
The staff was friendly and helpful, washed 2 baskets of clothes overnight for us and the music and food in restaurant was grand.
Its only 20 minutes from the cliffs, but we weren't even staying there to see them as we had seem them before. My friend and I have visited Ireland several times- I have family in County Galway. We were headed to Galway for a wedding and wanted to spend a quiet nice week night in a small village on the west coast that we hadn't been to, well Lisoonvarna is very small and very quaint. It was a perfect stop over for great music and an amazing meal. The Rathbaun Hotel has live music every night until midnight and amazing food until 11pm!! which we appreciated in small villages the pubs usually close early and you can't get food later, this is so nice because then we weren't rushing to get to dinner after traveling all night. It was the perfect way to ease into the trip. We were able to get to LIsdoonvarna, walk around, take a nap to catch up on sleep and still have a great meal and amazing music, and the prices are right!!! The Owners, Lynn and Jon are very nice as is their staff. I actually left a book in my room and she came to give it to me where we were eating breakfast after checking out. They let my friend and a couple we met from Belfast hang out and finish our drinks. It was very welcoming, warm, fun but mellow. It was great. The next day we walked around then head 2 hours north to Galway. I recommend this hotel 100% if you are in county clare. It was one of the best meals I had the entire trip. Thanks Jon and Lynn! Hope to see you again.
Friendliness of staff, lovely room, great food and excellent music in the bar
This is a fantastic place to stay
staff, breakfast and location
entertainent was not as good as described
When we arrived the young girl was very welcoming all the staff of rathbaun were really nice people except the owner john.. Rooms were spotless and all our group were on the same floor. Food there was nice and they had a band which were good to
On the first night we arrived we were havin a great time, but then one fell and the owner john went crazy at his staff which it wasn their fault. We just stayed out of his way for the rest of our stay. The same band played everynight, i could hear them straight trough my room so if your lookin for a quiet holiday asked not to b stayin in room22
Live music, good food, the hotel itself was spotlessly clean, staff friendly and accommodating anything asked they delivered
Nothing about the hotel cannot fault it but other businesses around - do not eat in the irish arms down the road, the food was disgusting, only for the friendly waiter the service would have been too!!
Everything we needed for our night in Lisdoonvarna. Staff was high-spirited and accommodating, room was tidy, parking down the street was just a couple minutes' walk. Though we started our night at The Roadside Tavern for live music and drinks, we were pleasantly surprised upon our return to the hotel that their own performance was still going strong. Impressive young band and a fun audience, even if the space is a bit surreal (the hotel bar opens up into a large hall with a corner stage). Would recommend to anyone else passing through the area.
Friendly, helpful, wonderfully hospitable
We loved the friendly welcoming atmosphere. A real 'family' hotel. Everyone was helpful and made us feel very much at home. The music was first rate. Thank you.
