This was perfect for our one night stopover, easy to locate, with comfortable rooms and facilities, plenty of hot water and a filling breakfast of your choice. We didn't have time for dinner but a late lunch in the bar was great, especially the beer battered cod. The grounds are peaceful and quiet. Would definitely return and recommend it to others.
It was all good!
Helpful staff, good tasty food, clean room, very reasonable value.
Bed a little soft for my liking but it's a personal thing,
Very friendly staff and good customer service.
-Friendly and welcoming Manager and staff -Cleanliness of room and en-suite -Full array of toiletries -Comfortable beds -Lovely quiet room location
-Décor somewhat tired and dated -Breakfast was a bit haphazard with regard to service. -The use of tea/coffee dispensers at breakfast is not acceptable in a hotel of this standard although an individual pot of tea was provided without a problem when asked.
Big smiles from the staff, and the friendly attitude that they were happy we were there.
There must have been a new server, because she never brought us coffee, without us asking, and didn't have a very happy attitude. One can feel that. But all in all it was good
Staff was curtious and very helpful
Wi-fi in room did not work
staff,facility's spot on
Ample parking space
Noise from the constant flow of smokers from the bar outside my room window...too noisy and constant chatting. As I was very tired it was making it difficult to sleep..very annoying...
We liked everything - the manager was extremely pleasant and welcoming, the food was excellent, the pub was fun, and the whole premises were great. We would heartily recommend it to anyone, and would definitely stay there again.
There was nothing we did not like, our experience was great.
Nice hotel staff very friendly and helpful great bar good food
Family run hotel,
Little not to like
it was very close to shops and other facilities. The staff were very friendly. The food was lovely and the local people were very welcoming and friendly, always had time to say hello. The rooms were very comfortable and beautiful. The grounds were also beautiful.
We were upgraded to a magnificient room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Staff were welcoming and the room was very clean. Meals at the hotel were good and this meant that you did not have to venture away from the hotel.
Nothing, we were extremely happy with our overnight stay here.
The community looked pretty depressed and we were a little worried about our choice of overnight location. We were pleasantly surprised when we turned into the hotel parking lot. The hotel is rather a hidden gem in this community. The rooms were very pleasant and comfortable. After more than a week in Ireland we had grown used to the damp and slight mustiness of older buildings. The hotel was very quiet, I suspect there were very few people staying mid-week. Front desk person also doubled as our server at supper and breakfast. Food serve was good and the food tasty.
Perhaps a little understaffed. We were in the breakfast room for about 10 minutes before staff came and told us that they had set a table for us in another area. They moved us over and from that point on service was good.
right in town, but quiet because of its grounds. comfortable friendly helpful staff good food nice lounge to relax in very useful information about the locality
gps could not find it - but that is not the hotel's fault
Everything. We felt welcome in this attractive and well cared for Hotel, from the time we walked in until the time we left. Damian was a friendly and gracious host, whose sightseeing tips were great. His team, Lisa, Rob and others were terrific, the food was lovely and we were so delighted with everything that we stayed an extra night. We highly recommend Rathkeale Hotel for the friendliness and competence of ALL staff we encountered, the charm of the place and you can get Vegemite for breakfast! We loved it.
What's not to like!
The staff were all very friendly and the room lovely and clean. Great location lovely setting.
The bathroom could do with a little bit of modernisation i.e. tiles etc around the bath but otherwise a perfect stay
Good Food and Very Friendly Staff
loved the hotel, the staff where very friendly. The room was very clean and the food was excellent. It was also very quiet. Great for families.
The location for me wasn't great, a little too far as an anglers rest, but would be ideal for couples or families..
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Masses of safe parking, very quiet spot at night. Really great food. 3 days +++ relaxed and can do attitude of staff
Wasn't really anything to dislike
Breakfast was good Staff were excellent came to search family tree
staff friendly enough
hotel a bit tired looking old smell breakfast very basic no fresh fruit
Great place to stay for the price that it is, nice staff and lovely food
Tv in room about the size of a tablet
Staff, breakfat, peace and quiet
The High St is rather run down
We stayed on a Thursday night so the hotel was quiet. First impression was of a very spacious car park! This is a beautifully restored hotel. The reception area is wonderfully created from dark wood paneling and classic carpets. We were warmly welcomed by the interesting reception staff. Our room and bathroom were of a standard layout and were very clean and comfortable with free wi-fi and tea and coffee facilities. We had supper in the lovely bar area and the food was excellent and extremely good value - we were very impressed. Breakfast was included in the overnight rate and served in a small but attractive dining area. I had a full Irish and my wife had scrambled eggs with bacon - both made with quality ingredients. Their is also a very pleasant restaurant and a large function room. I will be staying here again next year when we come over for yet another family wedding in the area! And, Deanna from Florida - what's the issue with the bathtubs? I don't remember US bathtubs being much different to Irish / UK / European bathtubs!!
Not being able to stay for a further night and trying the restaurant!
