Large rooms, comfy beds, hot showers, very clean, friendly staff, great value for money, what more could you want!! Oh, and the restaurant had a Gluten Free menu for my gluten intolerant husband.
The candles, the atmosphere.
Staff were very helpful
The candles and pumpkins at the entrance to the hotel. The open fire The view through the foyer out onto the water. Staff very friendly and helpful
Few parking spots. A regular shuttle bus into the town centre would be attractive.
loved the lady on reception who opened breakfast early on a Sunday morning for me so I could go get the ferry on a full tummy. She couldn't have been more helpful and really made my day. Thank you. Highly recommended comfy place to stay with lovely food and a warm welcome
Lovely hotel in nice location just a few mins walk to centre. Rooms were small but neat and clean.
Rooms were prob a little small. Hotel bar was surrounded by busy tables with guests eating
The fabulous view over the river from the bar and restaurant
Limited parking on-site
The receptionist was great! The view of Wexford town across the bridge is nice (but that also means a fair walk to get into town since there is not much to do and no nearby services once you are at the hotel). 23 room quaint *boutique* hotel. That said...
Do not expect the Bel Air.. I hate to just complain on any review, but... Our first room smelled of smoke, second room had silverfish in the bed (but at that point I couldn't be bothered and I just killed them). Food at restaurant was iffy (E.G. croque monsieur wasn't gratinated but had a wet mess on toasted bread, et al.). Waitstaff was pretty apathetic. Apparently most people think the food is fab since the place was packed the next morning. And if you leave the hotel after hours you are rolling the dice with your life because the night porter might not answer the doorbell and you could be walking in the pouring rain for hours figuring out how to get back into the hotel. For 50 euro I feel got what I paid for.
Very very nice room, great restaurant (said by an italian;))and bar. Excellent prices too.Very nice atmosphere. Super.
room was to warm even with rads turned off
Staff showed a genuine interest check in was easy On check out we got a bag with 2 bottles of water for our journey home - lovely touch Knowledgeable on local area Food in bar was lovely
The friendliness of the staff and the welcome we received. We could not fault the food and we class it as excellent. When departing we were offered take away coffee which we declined but instead we were given bottled water which we thought was a very nice touch. We would not hesitate to recommend this establishment highly.
Could not take shower head off the wall and this is something I always do at home.
Arrived very late, Loretta on reception made sure we were settled and comfortable and we had a sandwich. Loved her. The breakfast is to die for, very hearty or healthy the choice is yours. As its made to order there is no crust on the scrambled egg, (try the scrambled egg with salmon), the egg, bacon and sausages are freshly done
Shower in the bath with a shower curtain, when showering curtain flapped around and hit you like a cold wet hand.. Central heating is fabulous, but very, very noisy, woke me up when it came on around 5 am. Also other strange noises in the room
Lovely welcome Great service Beautiful candlelit entrance Good breakfast
The staff were very nice. I mainly dealt with Niamh who was very professional and very helpful. In the restaurant the food was good with not too long a wait for either a table or the food.
I felt the decor was very dated. It looked very dark and drab. I personally feel it need a good decorate to bring it up to date.
Perfect location just walk over bridge into town centre.. warm cosy atmosphere on a wet windy Halloween weekend decorated in a festive fashion
Room quite small, old world charm but spotless and beds so comfy really it didn't matter. Car parking limited but were redirected elsewhere which was just 2 mins walk so again sorted
Great place to stay
It's lovely to stay in a gorgeous place that has friendly staff and a reasonable rate.
Excellent food. We had dinne in the bar and our two meals were cooked to perfection. Bedroom comfortable and spacious, breakfast varied and again staff helpful and corteous.
hair dryer in bathroom . no herbal teas in bedrooms but I realise these are picky things and hardly worth mentioning.
Staff were very obliging, the food was excellent and the room was quiet even though and the hotel was full being the weekend with party goers .
Public areas were a little cold, the shower was a little difficult to use (no bath) and parking might be an issue.
The staff where wonderful, couldnt meet nicer genuine friendly people
Parking was tight
The receptionist was extremely helpful and chatty and friendly. The room was really nice, clean, warm and comfy. Breakfast was great! Very tasty, with a good selection and lovely view. Bar had a great atmosphere. Overall great stay.
Location Luxury Value Staff
The welcome on reception from Niamh. The location near Rosslare for the Ferry and on the river for the views The restaurant environment and the excellent food - best enchiladas i've ever had and my husband had a great beefburger
Room was a little too warm
