Muckross House (8 km) - Built in 1843, the rooms portray the lifestyles of the gentry and the working conditions of the servants. Skilled craft workers use traditional methods to produce high quality items of weaving and pottery. The gardens are famed for their beauty.
Torc Waterfall (8 km) - Dramatic falls that originate from the top of Torc Mountain from the Owengarriff River. At the base of the Lower Falls, you'll find a dramatic stairway to the Upper Falls, which will present you with excellent views of the area.
Crag Cave (24 km) - A unique attraction, Crag Cave is formed of limestone. It is a colourful wonderland of stalagmites and stalactites. Discovered in 1983 and thought to be over one million years old, this natural attraction has dramatic sound and lighting effects.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel was spotless and the Bar food was excellent, the pasta was unforgetable.Great value. Breakfast a little disappointing not "healthy" friendly and fresh fruit does not come from a tin!!!But we were well looked after all the same. More healthy options at breakfast time. |

Food in the bar was lovely. For the standard advertised, (4*) it was well short, place was clean and comfortable but with none of the luxuries of a 4* establishment. Bed was two mattresses joined together, one was very firm and the other sagging, the middle uncomfortable as the joining was there.No remote for the t.v. and when we went down stairs to get one, we got one with tape holding it together. Towels were small and felt very cheap and over used. We did only pay 49euro(room only) and i would have felt very bad if i had payed any more. |

Its location was very close to the INEC which suited as we were going to a concert there. The cleanliness of the bathroom, wasn't cleaned properly as ladies hair could be found in the shower. |

The reception area was pretty, the furniture in the bedroom was lovely and old worldly Advertised in room and on website food from 5 to 9 each day - was only from 6 to 8. No free wi-fi although advertised. Have to get a code from reception that they do not tell you about unless you ask and then there is no prompt to enter code. The night porter was very rude to both myself and my companion both nights when we rang about the wi-fi. When we came back at night from being out approx 12.30am or later the front door was still open but no sign of night porter we rang him from reception area heard phones ringing but no answer. Very bad service. |

I have to say the staff were very welcoming. The room was very comfortable with 2 small bottles of wine awaiting our arrival which cause we had traveled 4 hours was very welcoming. Overall i would give this hotel an 9 out of 10. The in room list wasn't left on your door for breakfast. |

This was my second stay at this hotel. I had such a nice time the first that I decided i wanted to come back here and was so glad that I did.The staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is just a lovely hotel with a good feeling about it. The first time I stayed with a work colleague and this time I stayed on my own. The room was just perfect with everything that I needed. I was looking forward to my visit and was not disappointed. I have no hesitation in reccomending The Riverside Hotel and will most certainly stay there again. |
