Serving staff in Dining Room excellent. Very much an "end of season" athmosphere ....smell of damp in room ....rates as 4 star , but ...no bottled water in room / no dressing gowns , not even a kettle ! Restuarant overpriced , in particular the price of very average wines. |

Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable Decor in hallways needs to be upgraded. Poor insulation with windows leading to mould in the room. Overall the hotel had a tired feeling about it. Used tray which was left outside room for collection was not collected in our absence from 5pm to 11.30pm |

The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. The drawing room and bar were very comfortable and the views amazing The energy saving light bulbs made the bedroom seem very dim |

The stay was extremely pleasant. The hotel is very tranquil and its surroundings add to this.It is perfectly suited for a relaxing holiday and the food is excellent. It is a bit beyond walking distance to Clifden (about a 20 minute walk).Because it is about an 8 minute walk off the main rooad a taxi is essential after dark. However the hotel advertises a good taxi servce. |

Our room was very comfortable and the evening meal was excellent. We enjoyed the full Irish breakfast although I felt the bacon had been cooked for a while. |

Room service was good. When we returned from the town, we wanted to have a night cap before retiring to bed, but found the bar closed at 1 am. When away in other hotels, it would be normal to have bar staff on at this time. |

It is in a lovely setting but a pity general maintenance is so badly neglected ! Plumbing .Hot tap wash basin not working . Got scalded in shower when cold supply stopped .T.V. Channels very inadequate .No sports channels available.Although plumbing faults were brought to attention of staff ,nothing was done to rectify faults in a period of four days !!!!! |

Lovely warm and welcoming hotel; great food with excellent decor/furnishings. Lack of tea and coffee available. If not in room, was there a free alternative? |

Warm and friendly reception, very professional and dedicated staff, unpretentious, relaxed and genuinely friendly atmosphere in the bar. Stunning location, even for Connemara. |

The food was amazing both dinner and breakfast. In fact I can't recall the last time breakfast was served completely i.e. no parts were buffet. |

Beautiful old style country house, quiet location, just perfect for relaxing. Lovely bar and very attentive staff. Hotel only has internet in the lounge, manager stated that he will work on improving the service. Hotel only calls itself 3* and not 4* as shown on booking.com. |

The room was comfortable and roomy, the staff were helpful and friendly and the views and location were stunning. It felt a little tired - worn carpets in the corridors, for example - and the dining room was a bit outmoded with a rather over-formal feeling. |

The hotel is a very relaxing and secluded place in a beautiful location. It represents old values of quality place and friendly service. We didn't get to have dinner but breakfast was excellent. |

Friendly staff. Wonderful setting. Great restaurant with adjoining piano bar. Perfect for a relaxing weekend. Rooms decor is a bit dated but rest of the hotel experience makes up for it. |
