I booked this place for my parents visiting me. they were completely unhappy. breakfast was poor. room's wardrobe was broken, floor was dirty, toilet's facilities were not good. One of the night it was raining and they had to use a bucket to prevent the rain coming down from the ceiling and althought they told the staff they werent looked after. after few days they were moved to a different room from the one they booked at 10 pm in the evening and the evening after on their return to the b&b they found all their luggages and personal belongings moved back to the previous room. All this without having been asked for permission to do so. Unacceptable behaviour. last but not least, two nights before their departure one of the staff knocked at their door at 10,30 pm with the credit card machine asking for payment. Just disgraceful. I will never again book this place for my parents.
The bed was ok.
Cleanliness. Dusty, dirty, and looked although it hadn't been cleaned prior to my arrival. Dirty sponges left in kitchen drawers and for an apartment that was supposed to have cooking facilities there was nothing apart from a dirty oven and a fridge.
It just had no hoilday factor
- Cheap, close to the bus stop to/from town
- Requested 5 eur extra charge for checking out 6 minutes after the 11 am deadline - windows could not close because of electric cables going through them - dirty: sticky, dusty, crumbles on floor, papers and rubbish in the corners - sleeping room was originally the living room of the house, whereas the adjacent dining room (divided by a wide door) is now used as breakfast area, meaning that you could hear all the other guests having breakfast as if they were next to your bed
We spent a week here at Roslin and it was great to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city. The lovely host of the property was amazing and really looked after us. Only a 5-10 min bus ride to the city, in a gorgeous little area. Great, spacious room, very clean and homely. Loved this place.
As soon as we arrived after a 10 hour journey, we were forced to pay for the entire stay before we could even look at the room. Which meant we had to walk to an atm to get the money. After dropping our luggage off we went for a meal in Dublin. On our return we went to bed for what we hoped would be a relaxing sleep. However, the room was too warm, not only this we were awoken by screaming, slapping, shouting, punching and crying from one floor below. Thus the only option was to phone the Garda who arrived and took someone away. The following morning after a fear stricken unpleasant night, no apology or compensation was offered. Which was compounded by a disappointing breakfast, of muesli and toast. The second night, was just as unpleasant with a group of young girls creating noise till 3am. On the room itself, it was small and too warm (with no manner of controlling the temperature). There was a red lamp that was cracked (resembling a scene from a poor moulin rouge), the bedside light looked like it had blown years ago. The bed was uncomfortable and could only be accessed from the door. The shower had damaged fittings, but was by far the best feature in the room (which isn't saying a lot). There were two seahorse stickers randomly dotted on the bathroom wall. The television, a remnant from the 80's, functioned. All and all the stay was the worst accommodation I have ever personally had the misfortune to stay in. Please to not go here for your own sake.
Staff lack of English Curtains off Rails Damp in Room No ability to pay with Debit/Credit Card
Willingness of staff to assist Close to public transport
Quality of first room offered
Somebody there to take cash payment and give out keys. Big bathroom.
Ill fitting wardrobe without a back. Tape around electric sockets. Hosts in pyjamas.
Where to start...hated our stay here. Chose this based on its location and price as we were up for the All Ireland hurling final. Did not expect luxury but I did expect a basic service and this place failed. Our room had huge amount of damp on one side of the ceiling. Water dripped slowly overnight and soaked a Tshirt on suitcase. 1 curtain hanging off and lining of it in shreds. Only said breakfast was continental after we had booked it and that was poor. Money had been paid upfront before getting key so no comeback there and we needed a place to stay. The woman working there was extremely rude, no way she should b dealing with people!!
The room was disgusting, the décor was horrible. The bed was just ok. Curtains in the bedroom falling off. Damp dripping from the celling. Breakfast poor at best. The host is not a nice woman at all. We checked out 5mins late and were shouted at and she demanded an extra fiver. This place is filthy.
I was in the apartment for four days. Kitchen looked like it was newly furnished, with fridge (no freezer), oven, microwave, hob. But minimal cookware and dishes in the cupboards. Shower was good, very strong flow and was always hot when I had a shower. Location was decent.
Where to start? No soundproof between apartment and kitchen- could hear what sounded like children running VERY loudly in the bedroom, affected my sleep. TV had a dodgy signal, limited channels. Bed was uncomfortable. No heating whatsoever over my 4 nights (though by reading previous reviews, I expected this and brought my own portable heater). One staff member I met seemed like she was on drugs, asked for payment for 4 nights before I even saw the apartment, and my choices of payment were cash, or to write down my credit card details on a piece of paper for the landlord to later process...Needless to say, I went to the nearest ATM. Bedroom blinds were full of mould and general smell of the bedroom was not nice. I will not return nor recommend to anyone.
The price and location. We needed privacy and this is what we got.
mould on the window rollers, damp room (lower ground floor), no phone reception (on Three), springs felt on the mattress, but didn't disturb our sex.
There was nothing to like about this kip!!!!!
The room (Room 1) was in a disgraceful state. There was lots of damp around the window and big stains on the ceiling. A Curtin was hanging off the rail. The carpet was full of dark stains!!!. The main light in the bathroom was not working. The window rattled in the wind all night. The next morning I asked the housekeeper, who appeared to live in a pink nightdress, for my money back. She rang the manager who told me that as I had used the facilities she would not give me a refund but would return 4 euro but the housekeeper gave me back 9 euro. I am still owed 44 euro. Avoid this place like the plague. If you do decide to stay check it out before you check in and be ready to go elsewhere if it has not changed.
Good location, B&B out of the center, but served by bus and shops. Good pizza/pasta take away and restorants in the area. Fair breakfast, big room, friendly staff, parking area.
No chair in room. Cracked ceiling, dated building. Plugs loose on wall Price was doubled after 1 week and I went to a near better B&B
The mattress had springs coming through it. The room was filthy. There was no heat. Had to ask for the hot water to be turned on. Could not sleep with noise of people going up and down the stairs all night. Plug sockets were falling off the walls.
Hairs on my bed and room was freezing
Filthy pubic hairs on one of the beds springs coming up through the mattress. Carpet filthy, blood on the wall plaster falling from the ceilings.Breakfast was like what you would get on a building site in the 80s Burco boiler Toaster and a fridge and work away.
They advertise an apartment room with self catering facilities (fridge, cooker) and private entrance and terrace which we booked in advance, but this room doesn't appear to exist and we did not get what was advertised.
Breakfast was fine, room was big, secure parking, good location in south Dublin
Oddball housekeeper, creaky noisy building, shared bathroom, had to ask for a kettle
Spacious room and really cheap price
Room not really clean and a little bit old
We booked a double room with a private bathroom, but when we arrived the bathroom was 'private' with the room besides. The price was charged in advance.
Nice staff. Very polite
The accommodation was Clean & Comfortable. Staff were friendly & helpful, continental breakfast was lovely, cereal, fruit juices, yogurts, Tea/Coffee and toast. Had second helpings. Great location.
